Ever since he first set foot in Harrisburg, Tennant’s life has been a rollercoaster. Ups and downs too numerous to mention, hard knocks and championship rings. Through all of those monumental moments, one thing has been a constant for him, Jared Madsen. Now that their wedding day is drawing nearer, Ten is seriously considering eloping. He would, if not for his mother, his father, his brothers, the wedding planner, the guests, the cake, the press, and the team. Oh, and then there’s his best friend, who is vying for the job of ringmaster of the wedding circus. Would sneaking off during the night with Jared and skipping to the honeymoon part of the festivities really be all that bad?

When Jared proposed to Ten, he imagined a quiet wedding, on a beach somewhere, with family, and maybe the team. But life gets complicated with Ten’s warring brothers, a Russian goalie with a love of sequins, and a bachelor party organized by Adler. When Trent sends them a wedding planner, every spare hour is filled with choosing invitations, cake tasting, and finding a rose in the perfect shade of green. Add in Layton organizing a press conference, and suddenly their private wedding is destined to become a media sensation. Is it wrong to think seriously about kidnapping Ten and spiriting him away to a small deserted island?

Adler organizing the bachelor party, Trent supplying the wedding planner, and Stan writing a speech. What can possibly go wrong?

And saved the date I did : no way could I have missed some quality reading time with Ten and Mads, two of the protagonists of the Harrisburg railers series - written by R.J.Scott and V.L. Locey- and my favorite couple of this series.

This instalment is the final one of this sport MM Romance series, with Ten and Mads being the main stars, tying the knot surrounded by the previously featured MCs (Hockey players, Team members and friends of the players) and of course, Riker, Mads’s son. You figured it out : a standalone, it is NOT.

And all the fans of this series won’t be disappointed…it’s fun, it’s steamy and nicely bittersweet: time to say goodbye to all the MCs I was so fond of (yes, they are fictional characters, but in my reading world, they are a great bunch of sexy friends).

Ten and Mads are as usual totally in together, they are hot, hot, hot, and they are swooning. A lot of nice feels : familial (yeah, Riker is there) and on a friendship level (of course, Stan is there too and it’s so much fun trying to decipher what comes out of his mouth).

Perfect ending for a solid series (with covers improving along the way, thanks for small favors) with enough hockey time to interest me but not bored me, endearing MCs, some good fun, mild angst (but for the huge twist in book#6 : that was…whoa !!!), nicely paced relationship development and a good level of steam.

As it started, so it ends, with Tennant Rowe and Jared Masden and it's utter perfection.

The wedding everyone in ice hockey fandom has been waiting for is finally here and it comes along with a run through of guest appearances from all the other Harrisburg Railers couples.

Stan is still the best Russian goalie ever, Trent is still a total riot, Adler, Layton, Erik, Dieter and the rest of the crew fall into place like comfy slippers.

There's a wee bit of drama as nothing ever goes to plan with a wedding but all's well that ends well and the Railers main squeezes head off into a blissful Greek sunset with visions of their ridiculously happy life ahead.

I've loved this series from start to finish and, while sad it's ending, it goes out on a total high.

4.5 stars Save the date - Ten and Jared

I understand I just read the final installment of a series. I didn’t read the others but I got a good impression of them :) So for those who did read the previous, it will be even more fun!

Delicious somewhat chaotic story. Ten and Jared aren’t only busy with their wedding but also helping out their friends. Three weeks before the wedding they finally have to admit they can’t manage the organization of their big day..
Friends wouldn’t be friends without helping each other... well, not everyone thinks it’s helping.
And there has to be a bachelors party, of course!

“Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue.”

Some friends know exactly how and where the wedding should take place.
And there has to be flowers, and cake, and clothes, and invitations, and, and... vows!
The countdown starts... now!

All the guys together is a lot to take. They are funny, hilarious, annoying and much more. Everyone with their own characteristics. Family, friends slash team members, they all planned to make it into a wonderful wedding. Ten and Jared are deliciously sweet together, they had humor and had a whole lot of sexiness.
Even without reading the previous books in this series I could follow it all quite well.
It was a fast paced written story. It had a fabulous positive vibe. It felt fresh and had only engaging characters. A very enjoyable read!

Ten and Jared are getting married and everyone is in on the fun - Adler plans the bachelor party, Trent becomes the wedding planner from Hades (but of course, puts together an absolutely perfect wedding day), the Rowe brothers and their extended family all sit down for an interview, Stan gives a speech from the heart, Ryker and Jacob make an appearance, Ten and Jared get their hockey puck cake, and there's a wonderful sexy honeymoon on the Aegean Sea to cap everything off.

There's humor, fun, sweetness, sex, family-family, hockey-family and some truly beautiful touching moments.
I have so much love inside me for him, right? He's the perfect man for me. He grounds me when I need tethering, and he lets me fly when I need freedom. He laughs with me and at me, holds me when things are bad, and dances with me when things are good. He's the world to me.
And not to be topped, Jared's vows include:
I fell in love so fast, so hard ... you were the best thing to happen to me. Ten, I have you in my heart right next to Ryker. You know that, right? [...] And then you fell to the ice ... and every part of me hurt with you when they picked you up and took you away. I can't imagine a life without you, so please know that if you ever fall on the ice again, I will always be there for you, bringing you home where you belong.
I really adored every page of this novella, feel it is the best book of the Harrisburg Railer's series, and is the perfect ending to the series.

A great novella to wrap up the Harrisburg Railers. Ten and Jared was the first couple in the series and is only fitting that we have the whole novella dedicated to their big day. Most of the prominent characters are featured, especially our beloved Stan. Adler helped host the bachelor party, which turned out to be more subdued that I imagine. I was expecting something cray cray and in the realm of the 'Hangover'. Trent helped with the wedding planning and we can only imagine him being a total Groomzilla when the time comes for his own big day. Overall, is great to catch up with everyone and we get to bask in adoration for the love between Ten and Jared.

I’m so sad that this series is done.

But, what a fitting way to go, as it started with Ten and Jared, it comes full circle and delivers the wedding of the century!

Will they run off to a Vegas, like Stan and Erik to escape the pressure of planning? Or will they have the wedding of their dreams?

Read and find out!

A family-filled, sexy, funny conclusion…

An ending that felt so right. In keeping with all the stories in this series, Ten and Jared’s wedding was full of all the good things I’ve come to expect - humanness, humour, heat, life…

“Just when you think you’re over the jitters, the wedding planner reminds you that everyone and their poodle will be watching…”

Ten and Jared were sexy and sweet, counting down to their day while dealing with all the big day craziness. It felt like a big group hug as the Railers hockey family circled the wagons to celebrate. Trent’s over the topness wedding planning had all the big, bad hockey players hopping (and hiding) as Ten and Jared’s wedding crept closer.

This felt like a last book of a much-loved series. A last hug to characters that made me smile so much as love found its way through adversity and the craziness of life. Ten and Jared were, as usual, loving and so sweet as they forged through their wedding preparations with a healthy dose of dread and fear (Trent was the planner after all) but always with underlying devotion. I laughed a lot but this time it was bittersweet. I wouldn’t hear more from this loving, crazy, family. I need to know if Adler ever finds his one. How will Ryker do with the Raptors? And, of course, no more Stan. *sob*

Hope springs eternal and a surprise blurb for a spinoff series is now top of my book-stalking shelf!

A Joyfully Jay review.

Save the Date is a sweet slice of life story that follows Jared and Ten through the frenzied business of planning their wedding. This novella isn’t about character growth or even big plot points. Instead, it’s a chance for long time fans of the series to bid a fond farewell to two favorite characters. Things move quickly and fairly predictably, but it doesn’t feel particularly derivative. Rather, we have a chance to visit with old friends and enjoy the culmination of their relationship. At times the story struggles with the ordinariness of it all, but for the most part I was contented and enjoyed the warm and fuzzy notions on offer.

The only thing Save the Date really lacks is hockey action, which is rather ironic given the nature of the series. It does acknowledge Ten’s recovery from his head injury and the reality that an injury of such magnitude leaves a permanent impression, not just on the patient, but all of those around them. It never gets too weighty and I appreciated that while Ten’s injury was addressed, the event didn’t overshadow everything else in his and Jared’s life.

I'm finished and sadly so are the Railers, but it was a hella' good wedding...full review to follow soonish!!!

It's here, it's here...the big day is finally here...

I have loved this series so much from start to finish and where we started was with Madsen and Tennant in 'Changing Lines'. and now we've come full circle to 'Save the Date' where we join Mads, Ten and pretty much the rest of the team to share in their big day...it's time for Mads and Ten to say "I do."

There's not complex story line here just a lot of wedding antics, a bit of chaos and a whole lot of fun as Mads and Ten enlist the help of friends and family to help pull off a wedding to remember.

With only a couple of weeks left until the big day both men are going crazy they want to have the big day...not plan it and when things seem to go from bad to worse and progress doesn't seem to be getting made in the planning department...enter Trent...figure skater and planner extraordinaire.

It's with Trent's frenetic but well intentioned help that things start to come together and then we have Stan...best friend to Ten and the other saving grace when wedding plans keep collapsing.

For anyone who hasn't read this series just do it before you tackle this one. It's not that you won't be able to follow what's happening but more that it's everything that's come before that leads to this story...this day for these two men that helps to make it as special as it is.

I loved that as this story progressed we got a little peek at the characters from previous stories from Layton and Adler whom we met in the second book to Bryan Delaney and Gatlin Pearce the tattoo artist who won Bryan's heart in the final pairing of this series...they're all here whether it's in a more supportive role like Trent who drags Mads and Ten through the planning process...kicking and screaming so to speak or as a guest at the wedding. Mads and Ten are determined to share their big day with all of the important people in their lives...even their fans...have been invited to attend the wedding of the season.

It's wedding season and this is one wedding that Railers fans won't want to miss...so take the time and enjoy the day.

A cute, light wedding story for two of my favorite guys. There was room for a bit more depth, which didn't happen, but that's not a surprise in a wedding novella. I enjoyed meeting all the guys again, and Stan always grabs a little bit of my heart. Fun for fans of the series, not a place to start.

I have been waiting for this book for what seems like forever. Ever since Ten and Jared met actually..I NEEDED to see them marry.
I knew my expectations for their wedding would be met if not surpassed by Rj Scott and V.L.Locey's amazing story telling abilities, and I was right!
So much love, laughter, crazy wedding planning, freaking out and visiting with the team was in this book. Did I mention Love and laughter? I kept going back and forth between laughing out loud to then saying "Aww!" while reading. At one point, ok a few points, I teared up.
Such a wonderful time was had while reading this. Not only did I get the wedding I'd hoped for , I got some majorly sexy-time scenes and hope that Apollo might get his HEA some day soon.
Cannot say enough wonderful things about this story.
I know, I know your saying "Hey! Tell us how you really feel!"
All I know is I have not stopped smiling since I read this.

What a perfect ending to this awesome series. We have loved Ten and Jared from the get go with their story in Book 1, and it has continued throughout. While other players had their time in the spotlight as well, these two remained a strong presence, so it is only fitting that this end with them getting married and expressing their feelings for each other surrounded by family and friends.

Things haven’t always been easy for these guys, and that continues here with the stress of planning the wedding. They are both a bit overwhelmed with the Rowe women handling all the details, so who better to step up as coordinator than the stylish Trent, Dieter’s bf and figure skating superstar. This doesn’t do much to ease the stress, however, and it is fun to watch Ten and Jared (mostly Ten) have to deal with it all.

One of my favorite things about this series is all of the fabulous characters. I most especially loved the development of Ten and Stan’s relationship. Ten is just this super great guy who is pretty humble about his hockey skills but who doesn’t hesitate to befriend the big Russian who barely spoke English. It genuinely warms the heart to watch them interact, just as it is easy to see how much Ten has come to mean to all of his teammates.

Between the wedding planning, the bachelor party and wedding, the guys do manage to find some alone time. I’ll just say that I was right alongside Ten and Jared with wanting to skip right to the honeymoon stage, but it was totally worth the wait, and I would have wanted to miss any of the other good stuff anyway.

I’m sad to see this part of the series come to an end, but thankfully, just as it did with the Owatonna U Hockey series, these guys will continue to show up again through their connection with Ryker, who takes us on the next journey as he reluctantly heads to the Arizona Raptors. While he mostly already had his story (with Jacob) with their college team, I’m excited to see how things turn around for the team we have all come to dislike. If you’re a fan of hockey and fabulous characters, I highly recommend you give these series a try.

Ten and Jared, together forever. ❤

Save the Date is a story that I've been waiting for and it was everything I could have wanted in a finale for the Harrisburg Railers series.

From the very first book in this series, Changing Lines, to this final story, we've seen Tennant Rowe's and Jared Madsen's relationship develop and grow. They've weathered everything from coming out as a couple to serious injury.

I knew from the minute I started reading Save the Date that there would be tears and I wasn't wrong. There was also laughter because of all of shenanigans going on to prepare for Ten and Jared's wedding. It was so good to visit once again with other main characters from books in the series.

While some of the books in this series could probably be read as stand-alone stories, I don't think you will be able to really appreciate and enjoy Save the Date unless you are a fan and have read at least some of the previous books.

I'm sad to see this series end but I'm also very much looking forward to the new series, Arizona Raptors, coming this fall. Since we know that Jared's son, Ryker, is going to play for this team I hope that means we get to visit with Ten and Jared again at some point.

Congrats to RJ and V.L. on a great writing partnership that has taught me more about hockey than I ever thought I'd want to know. 😊

It's not often that a novella can possibly rate 5*s, but this short read has just had me in fits of laughter and reaching for a tissue more than once. It is THE perfect culmination of the romance which started it all when Ten and Jared met at the Railers.

This series has been a complete blast from the very beginning, and if you haven't read them all, then I suggest you prepare yourself for this group of hockey players and their adventures.

In this installment, we get to see so many of the important people in the guys' lives and enjoy their unique contributions to the wedding preparation and execution. All utterly in character, so fans will know exactly who will do what, and with what level of exuberance and panache. Stan, as always, somehow manages to steal the show with some fabulous lines, and completely inappropriate messages to the grooms.

So funny, so sweet, so hot and so emotional. Thank you R.J.Scott and V.L.Locey - this is the icing on the cake!

I was given a copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads.

This book is the frothy sweet end to the Harrisburg Railers stories. Jared and Ten are finally getting married and their friends, teammates and family members want it to be an occasion to remember. In some ways this is a goodbye to all the Railers. Adler plans the stag party, Stan hosts the wedding and a certain flamboyant figure skater acts as wedding planner.

I’m not a big wedding fan - a view thankfully shared by both Jared and Ten. The result is a funny story about two men who just want to get married and well meaning interference from much loved characters who want to throw them an extravagant celebration.

This book is light on plot but full of humour and happiness. All our favourite reprobates have settled into domestic bliss but they haven’t lost their charm. I love the relationship between Jared and Ten at this stage in the series and I love the relationships that have formed between the Railers and their partners. This story definitely won’t stand alone and new readers will need to start at the beginning of the series. Fans who have followed the series from the start as I have will probably shed a few tears as we say goodbye.

Save the Date is just wonderful. I laughed at the crazy goings on around the wedding preparations, I cried when I read Stan’s friend of honour speech and I swooned seeing Jared and Ted’s get their dream wedding on the way to their happily ever after.

Sometimes when authors keep writing about characters after their main books I finished I wish they wouldn’t because there are times when I drags out a story and takes the shine off it. That is not the case with this series. The Railers feel like family and I am excited with every new book, novella and spin off. Now I’ve seen Jared and Ten tie the not I find myself wanting to go back and experience it all again from the beginning. I love the Railers.

Great to see Jared and Ten finally get married.

I really enjoyed the wedding planning from hell, there were so funny moments, but you could just tell that the guys really didn’t care how it happened they just wanted to be married.

There were some really sweet moments. I love how Ten deals with his fans, he always has time and always listens to them. Whenever he can see a way to help others he is all in and planning ways to make it happen.

I’m going to miss these guys as we head off to other teams now.

My Review ~

Save The Date is the final book in the Harrisburg Railers series. The books in this series need to be read in order as each book furthers the story for the other couples along with focusing on new main couples.

I've absolutely loved this entire series, firstly because I'm a hockey fan, but secondly because the series has been highly enjoyable from the first book. That first book introduced us to Ten and Jared, the couple who's ultimate moment is featured in this novella. We've reached the end of their journey, so to speak, as we read the antics surrounding their wedding. I honestly wish this wasn't the end of the series though because I've really enjoyed all the couples and all the hockey that's been a part of the books.

Save the Date is probably the lightest book in the series as far as hockey goes, there are no games or practices mentioned in this book. The entire story revolves around planning and executing Ten and Jared's wedding. The cake tasting scene was one of my favorites especially as they're describing the kind of cake they wanted to the baker. This is after she's already given them her elaborate design ideas, and they ultimately want something that shows them. Stan's speech at the end is typical Stan as in it's slightly corny and totally sweet.

Save The Date hit all the right notes for this couple's big day, even if I wanted just a bit more from this as the final book in the series. It's still a sweet, funny, and wonderful novella to read. If you haven't read this series yet, this is a must for all that love hockey. It's also just a good, fun, well written series that makes you love the whole hockey team and makes you want more and more of them. Pick this one up for your weekend, or beach/poolside reading time.

**********Contains Spoilers**********

I thoroughly enjoyed this novella. It’s three weeks until Ten and Jared’s wedding and they haven’t really made many decisions, and really need some help and decide to ask Ten’s Pokémon chat group if they know anything about planning a wedding. Trent rings in a complete freak out, as he can’t believe that they still haven’t decided on a venue for the wedding. Trent steps in as their wedding planner, but he’s so completely extra, even his partner Dieter can’t deal with him talking about all the details, that him, Jared and Ten end up hiding in Ten and Jared’s bathroom. Ten and Jared are really worried as Adler is planning the Batchelor Party, which was originally a weekend but Jared and Ten got it down to 1 night, it was still pretty epic night but I wouldn’t expect anything different from something Adler planned. Lol Layton had to reign some of their festivities in so it didn’t end up a PR nightmare. Stan is still one of my favourite characters. I loved getting snippets of the Railers, their significant others and families that we’ve all gotten to know and love while reading this series.

I’m glad that this didn’t end up being the last book in the Series, now I’ve still got two new books to finish since I haven’t gotten around to reading them yet so that’s something to look forward too. Man, I love seeing how Ten is with his fans especially the younger ones like Kyle who he spent an hour or so going on a Pokémon hunt with him while in the park, and Joe the young gay hockey player that Ten and Jared sat down with and talked about Joe’s issues with some of the team being homophobic a*seholes, while they were waiting for their flight to Greece for their honeymoon. Ten told Joe that him and some of the Railers will come to his school to talk to his team so hopefully they’ll stop being d*cks. I’m looking forward to reading more books from their MM Hockey Romance Universe, and I’m heading back to Owatonna University, as it’s Scott, Ryker and Jacob’s friend and teammate from OU’s Hockey Team turn next. I’m hoping that he’ll find some peace as trying to live up to his dead brother’s legacy and never being good enough for his father, would kill anyone. If anyone needs to find their happily ever after it’s him. I’d definitely recommend this book, series, universe and both authors to everyone.

I loved this feel good conclusion to the Harrisburg Railers series. Although the story is Ten and Jared’s and their happy ending, it does a wonderful job in showcasing their friends and family too. One of the huge strengths of this series, and why I got hooked on stories about hockey players when I never watch sport, is the strong feeling of family amongst the team. This story is no different in that regard, and I loved how everyone came together to make Ten and Jared’s day perfect. I found myself smiling through a lot of this story, and particularly liked how everyone’s personalities came into play to shape the wedding preparations and the story.

I wasn’t sure whether I should be disturbed or amused by Ten’s mother’s ‘helpful’ conversation with him early on in the story. Far too much information, and I love her. As with many weddings, everyone else wades in to make it a perfect day, while losing sight of who Ten and Jared are.

I loved the scenes that showed just how genuine these guys are, and how—despite everything else going on—they are approachable, stop to talk to kids, and make time to help anyone. It’s another reason why I enjoy reading about these stories. Yes, these guys are big stars, and rich, yet none of it has gone to their heads, and they’re still very human and down to earth.

The references to previous events in the series are great, as is the hint of the future. I loved Jared’s conversation with Ryker, and the glimpse of the depth of their relationship.
No wanting to give away spoilers, I’ll just say that I thought the wedding itself was beautiful, and their vows very heartfelt, and very them. Although it’s a story that I think is more fully enjoyed if you’re familiar with the series, I started reading this series with the later books, have to play catchup with the earlier books, yet still found this conclusion to the series very satisfying, lovely read, and already want to read the next series.

I’d recommend Save the Date to readers who enjoy a sweet heartfelt story with a good dash of humour, and very real characters.

For those who’ve been waiting on this glimpse into our first Railers’ couples life to watch them tie the knot, I think you’re going to be happy with what you’ll find. Even with the tagline making you wonder what kind of shenanigans could be going on with Adler, Trent, and Stan being involved in some way with the plans, this novella is pretty angst-free and more of a look into the lives of everyone involved.

I really liked being able to visit again with Ten and Jared—their love is still quite obvious, and getting to see them interact together as well as with their friends, family, and teammates was a nice treat that rounds out the series nicely.

If you’re looking for craziness or drama, this is not the place to find it; instead you’ll find some fun with friends, great moments with Ten and his family (particularly with his brothers), and a few sweet interactions between the other couples. Oh yes, and maybe some scenes between Ten and Jared. Just a few. You know, just to show how very in love they are and how the heat between them hasn’t gone anywhere ;-)

As the conclusion to the Harrisburg Railers series, Save the Date was a 4-star read for me, and can be read pretty quickly (give yourself a couple of hours). It was the perfect way to close things out, and I believe fans of the series will be satisfied with the story. This novella is not meant to be read on its own—you need to read the series to understand how they’ve all reached this point, and the character relationships as well. This book is meant for readers 18+ for adult language and sexual content.

This book captured my heart and fulfilled my soul. I giggled, laughed, cried and even swooned. However, the worst part of reading it was the simultaneous urge to devour it (it IS a Railers book, after all) while wanting to slowly savour it. I’ll admit, when I turned the last page I was smiling from the novel itself and crying at the fact the series is ended. Admittedly, I don’t let go easily. But this may be my favourite series of all times. In fact, I know it is. I’ve loved these characters and this team. I’ve cheered them on, rooted for them, despaired with them and celebrated with them. So reading this instalment was bittersweet.

All of that being said, Ten is my favourite character and I eagerly anticipated reading more Ten-centred goodness. His Mom made me choke on my coffee, his best friend Stan made me weepy, his brothers made me laugh and Jared . . . . Jared loves him enough that I may (fingers crossed) be able to let them go.

The wedding did not disappoint. The bachelor party was perfect. There were appearances (at least in name) from all the other guys which helped bring things full circle.

There was also the perfect set-up for book #9 . . . . just sayin’ . . . . Vick and RJ COULD change their minds . . . I wouldn’t complain!!!!!
