Judith Berens is a figment of your imagination, made up of the fevered brainpower of Michael Anderle and Martha Carr, fueled by a lot of people helping them out - as well as all of you, The Fans. Great stories mixed with a lot of great readers equals more adventures to follow.
Not the best book in this series, slow at times, but I’m enjoying Raine and her friends stories. The last few chapters were action packed and I’m sure could have been extended and still had pace. The kemana, willen, hap and the spring dance were used to fill out the book. Hopefully the next book will move a little quicker a little earlier. Read the whole series not to mention the previous series of the school of necessary magic.
I've never been a gamer. Never wanted to be. So this book dealing with that kind of issue, although well written, as usual, just wasn't my cup of tea.
That said, the struggles that each of the gang faced, were real to so many of us, growing up, (apart from the magic, of course), and so I have to give praise where it's due, for that.
I'll be starting the next book in this series, that's book five: 'Cold Case of the Witch', which isn't unexpected, given the direction that the series is already headed in, so it'll be interesting to see how Raine, and her friends, deal with it.
So, I'll finish this review, then, once I've read this next book, I'll catch you on the flip side, to let you know what I think of it!
And extraordinarily entertaining urban fantasy action adventure series. Think Hogwarts school of magic and a more serious version of the Scooby squad. Each book is a semester in the school year. This is the second class at the school of necessary magic. This is one series in a group of series by multiple authors that are all in the same magical world and on occasion interact and crossover on occasion. If you like urban fantasy and magic and mystery and action and you would like this series and all of its companion series. Check them all out
Add a bit of mayhem to the title above. Students are in comas caused by a new game on campus. Raine and crew are on the job investigating. Too many spoilers to give away, but know this. The mystery continues until the last page of the book. Maybe even into the next? Hmm. This was an exciting and adventurous book and the story even had some romance too. I highly recommend to readers of all ages!
I find that I quite enjoy these adventures in these books. This one ended up giving a whole new kind of reality. A reality that I feel too many people live in with the way technology is they tend to escape real life in favor of a fantasy. That's how I think the adventure in this book came to be set. I still enjoy the characters in this series. I wish my school was like the one in this book! Lol
The writing has continuously improved throughout the series. Now it actual reads like a proper novel. Glad to see.
The story in this one feels like an actual school story, with some thriller and mystery thrown in. Very glad I decided to continue the series. Well worth the price.
Overall, a worthy read. One that makes me think of what a more realistic teenager than a lot of books would do. A little rushed at the end, but still came together and made the story whole.
Raine and her friends have another interesting semester at the School of Magic, and once again save the day. Raine is learning to communicate better, and share her thoughts. They are all growing in confidence and magic skills.
Raine and the FBI Trouble Squad are on the job and save their fellow students from a magical game's tutorial character at great peril to themselves. An excellent story with characters we've come to love. I could'nt put it down until I finished. Another wonderful tale from the School of Necessary Magic. Thank you, Judith/Martha. 😁
More backstory with less violence.Enjoyed this installment.Raine and her friends continue to take on the world, during their sophomore year.See growing up can be fun.Have yet to read a book by this author that I dislike.Keep them coming
Book about the school of necessary. Again I had to force myself, to put my kindle down, and get some sleep. I think I better wait a few days before I download any more of this author's books.
Nothing too heavy but a nice enjoyable story. As always the characters are engaging and the events and plot are fun. Always look forward to these books.
The stories are getting more intense as the kids she in school. Their enemies seem to be getting smarter. Glad to see Mara and Xander get back together.
Raine and friends are back at school. A new game has been developed and some students are playing but something is not right. Read to see what happens!!
