Humans ascended to the top of the food chain through their uncanny ability to weave stories. Some stories are hardwired in our brains, while some we create over time. It is such stories that have steered the history of the world. While technologies are bringing disruptive changes and global warming is threatening our existence, it is more imperative than ever before to craft a global story that benefits all. This book discusses five profound questions whose answers will lay the foundation of future stories, and those stories will decide the fate of inquisitive apes.
• How we came to be? Was it a chance episode, or were things pre-determined?
• How we make sense of the universe around us? Are we hallucinating reality?
• Is sex bad? Are we naturally monogamous?
• Who are we? Is there a unique us?
• How to be happy? Can we hack our brain and control the bio-chemicals?

We all are originated from the apes but our abilities to think, create, etc makes us different from them. Author has awesomely expressed the qualities which makes us different from other species. The book is an self help book which described and answered the primary 5 questions of human life survival and existence.
The cover of this book is attractive. Language is simple and easy to understand. Overall a very informative read
I read different books but I recommend few books only. This is one such work I would like to recommend for within 190 pages it contains wonderful concepts, unknown facts and knowledge but this book has an amazing potential to let you have different perspective of thinking about diverse things too.

This book by author Subhrashis Adhikari is published by srishti publishers is filled with amazing data divided into 5 chapters each one again has sub divided into small ones that infuse in you curiosity to question our existence and understand the basis of everything.

The addition of history from around the world on how the world was created was enriching to my knowledge base and as it was brief and kept light and funny the read was not boring but interesting.
From the coming in to existence of Big Bang to reproduction facts not only in human species but also in other animals , it shows us that sexuality and gender are different things Gender is how biologically a human body takes up the role in reproduction but sexuality is more of socio-cultural concept.

The way societal bigotry works around it is shown by author is very much appreciated.
Author has pointed out that Nature has immense diversity but our human mind is yet uncapable to know all its secrets but still forcing their own will in creating social injustice. This book talks about Brain structure , RNA - DNA , happiness , coginitive skills , etc and a lot more.
Narration is exceptionally smooth and best part is it is quirky , witty, bold and at times makes you laugh out loud.
The heavy informations and concepts are presented in such a way that it feels easy to grasp and enjoyable as a light read.No doubt , the high educational qualification of Author and his diverse knowledge about various subjects along with his open minded approach absolutely reflects through these pages . Absolutely impressed by this wonderful work, priced at 175/- it is a good read for sure. I thank publisher for sending it across for honest thought share.
Book Title: 5 questions of the Inquisitive Apes Author: Shubrashis Adhikari Format: Kindle
Book Title: The title of the book ' 5 questions of the Inquisitive Apes ' is novel, intriguing and impressive.
Book Cover: The cover image of the book is very attractive. It is attractive not because of some abstract art or any other picture like on most of the books but a bright colored cover with the title as its image with the title as text. This looks simple but effective.
Inside the book: There are books that make us feel good, fall in love, get inspired or even sometimes cry and become sad. But, other than books related to spirituality or self-help, how many other such becomes provoke our minds to question about our own existence as a human?
Though I have read such books which ask this basic question, this particular book ' 5 questions of the Inquisitive Apes ' has revamped all my thought process. Here, the author boggles the reader's mind with great things which are explained in a great narrative style.
Did you ever bother how is a living being related to the 5 elements of the universe? Did you ever bother why and how certain taboos and prejudices have come into existence? Did you even think who was the first person to differentiate between a female and a male based on their organs? I suggest, quit reading all those spiritual and well-being books for a while and read this fantastic book.
What I like: 1. The subject author has picked up for the book 2. The narration of human life related known and open secrets 3. The language and rich vocabulary used in the book added more beauty 4. Every chapter questions and solaces the readers' thoughts
What I didn't like: This section stands obsolete as the book is a very nice read.

My thoughts: In the past year, I have read a few self-help and motivational books and I will honestly say that they have helped me quite a lot. So when I came across this particular book, I decided to give it a try. But I was also a bit skeptical about the authenticity of what the book promised to deliver to its reader. After all, philosophers and saints from all around the world still haven't found the answer to 'Who are we', so if the author knew the actual answer, it would have been all over the media, right? But I am glad that I read it. Not that it answers that question in a literal sense but it will make you think of your purpose in life and will definitely motivate you to take action towards it.
The book is written beautifully with its rich vocabulary and an engaging narration. The author tries to answer the following questions with historical facts backed by scientific reasoning and I must commend the author for the effort he has put into their research. I am still in awe of it. 1) How we came to be? 2) How do we make sense of the Universe around us? 3) Is sex bad? 4) Who are we? 5) How to be happy?
The cover of the book is simple yet highly attractive and the title aptly describes the contents of the book. Overall, it was a fabulous book and I enjoyed reading it. Recommended? Definitely, I think everybody should read this book even if one doesn't usually read non-fiction or self-help/motivational books. . Rating: 4.4/5
We all are originated from the apes but what makes us different from them is that we have the ability to think, to create and most importantly to ask the questions. The author has beautifully written about the qualities which makes us different from the other present species on the earth.
This book tries to answer the five questions, which I think we all have thought once. The questions are how we came to be? How we make sense of the universe around us? Is sex bad? Who are we? How to be happy?
We have come a long way from being Homo sapiens to smart human of today, but is this the evolution was quick and how it has affected our genes? How culture has come into existence? The author has answered all these questions in an interesting and creative way.
Apart from this, the large chunk of this book is dedicated to the creation of this universe and which role we are playing in it. He has also explained a lot about the human psychology, which makes us to do good or bad things.
I really want to appreciate the author’s honest and practical take on taboo of Sex. This section includes various points which need to understand by everyone.
The last section of this book is dedicated to the importance of happiness and how it plays a vital role in our life.
The author has written this book with various scientific and practical approach, however, keeping it simple for all type of readers.
My perception:
This book covers heavy topics with utmost ease and this is the beauty of this book. All the questions have been perfectly answered by the author. He has done extensive research for this book and has an in-depth knowledge, which reflects in the book. I loved reading this book; this book answered various question of my curious mind. The title is very apt and the author has covered all the topics, be it a creation of universe, out existence, our mind or the feelings. This book is a great compilation of some amazing answers which is going to satisfy the curious mind of yours.
If you love such genres, then do not miss this book, this book is very amazing and easily written.

About the book :
The title caught my attention. It is impressive. And explains a lot about this book. 5 questions about the things around us. Cover is also beautiful.
The book deals with every aspect of human species. How we came into existence, things happening around us, feminism, life and sexuality and gender and most importantly, how to be happy everything is described very well.
Language is simple and narration is witty. There are some Points where the book can make you laugh.
Everything in this book is described perfectly and there were some illustrations which made the book even more interesting and helped to understand the concept in better way.
Also, this book taught me many things. The references and the illustrations helped me to understand the topic.
I recommend thisbook to everyone who love to know more about our history especially our origin and things happening around us and it's connection with the past.
The cover is simple and catchy and colorful too. I would say , the sketch of a person who assumes to be thinking something , with the title "5 Questions of the Inquisitive Ape " , gives the readers a curiosity to know what the book is all about..
As the title says it gives the readers ample reason and answers to 5 Questions which I could say is thoughtful and overwhelming. All the five questions answered are simple yet most of us wont have thought about it unless you are a philosopher or a thinking geek , I bet that ..
The book can also be considered as one of your self book criteria since it gives the readers ample reasons to think about and improve the life style..
The language used in the book is simple and easy for most to understand and grasp the information. The narration of the book is impressive and could easily target a larger audience
The information passed in the book is highly useful for most of us.The narration pattern used all thought out the book is impactful
My Review- 5 Questions of the Inquisitive Apes deals with the following questions- Question 1- How we came to be? Question 2- How do we make sense of the Universe around us? Question 3- Is sex bad? Question 4- Who are we? Question 5- How to be happy? The cover of the book is simple and goes with the content inside completely. The language of the book is easy. You may find some scientific and unknown terms which are explained in the book itself. This makes the book easy to understand. The book is engaging which took me by surprise. I do not read non- fiction much because I find it hard to stick to it but I found this book really interesting. It was hard to put it down. I found the topics discussed intriguing and thought inducing. I would like to appreciate the author's sense of humour here. Y'all remember that teacher we used to love, who made the boring subjects interesting and sleepy kids attentive using little jokes and subtle sarcasm? The author did the same in the book at different points to keep the reader hooked making the book unique. The book has some illustrations too. I learnt many new things and tried to unlearn a few while reading the book. The author talks about a lot of sensitive topics and there are detailed accounts on some simple things which we think we know but we do not. The author talks about the origin of life, universe, culture, evolution, sex, sexual orientation, homosexuality, patriarchy, feminism, #metoo movement and many more important issues. My favourite parts were the accounts of different researchers and the references from history used to prove certain points. I may not remember every name but I will revisit this book someday and be amused by the words again. I enjoyed reading this book a lot. The title of the book is justified. What are we if not inquisitive apes? . . . I received the review copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
5 Questions Of The Inquisitive Apes by Subhashis Adhikari is a non-fiction book which answers the 5 highly asked questions - How We Came To Be? , How We Make Sense Of The Universe Around Us? , Is Sex Bad? , Who We Are? , How To Be Happy?
We see how language has helped the human species as well as it's evolution. Along with that we see how culture is unique to human species and keeps evolving along with time. Further we see, research and theories on quantum mechanics.
'Unlearning The Rainbow' is my favourite chapter out of all the others. I really liked how the author has beautifully reasoned out the 4 most intriguing questions asked. Out of which 1 was the viral 'The Dress' that broke the internet in 2015.
I liked how the author has dealt with the topics of feminism and the #MeToo movement. Also, I appreciate that author has given proper amount of selected and well researched information on various topics rather than bombarding the readers with excessive amount of information.
I liked how the author has mentioned some great Indian thinkers and their works in this book. We usually don't hear about them much, and author has done a brilliant job in highlighting their work.
Few research and experiments mentioned in this book were already something which I had learned about in my academics, but there were alot of other facts which I came to know after reading this book.
Now, if you felt that Sapiens by Noval Harari was alot of burden of information on you and still wish to read a historical nonfiction, then I highly recommend you pick this book up. Overall, I really enjoyed this informative book and I recommend you to read this nonfiction book.

"Birds do it, bees do it. Even educated fleas do it. Let's do it..." ~ 𝑩𝒐𝒐𝒌 𝑹𝒆𝒗𝒊𝒆𝒘 🔻 5 Questions of the Inquisitive Apes - Subhrashis Adhikari 📙 The cover of the book is very simple, i didn't like it much as it could be much more attractive. The thing is when we talk about Self Help books we shouldn't look on the cover but on the content. The length is about 190 pages and making it a light read which one can easily finish it no time. ▪️ I love fiction more than anything but i like to read Self Help {Non fiction} books too. 5 questions of the Inquisitive Apes by Subhrashis Adhikari, is a book for those curious minds that are often thoughtful . It is for those too who do not ponder a lot but will do so after reading this book . It provides a basic knowledge of the world around us and the science behind it. It also talks about how our mind perceives the changes and how evolution has a role to play in almost every aspect of us being alive and surviving. The book proceeds from query to query, building up a whole circle of our beginning and existence ; it covers all, from the big bang to an electron. The author puts up facts, starting from our great old ancestors, that is apes, and builds up the story of human evolution, to what we are today. As we further delve into the story, there is lot more that opens up, like the functioning of our brains and some quite keen theories that will surely make you question if you are even for real or just living in a make believe world. The author has also covered social topics like gender equality, our obsession with sex and #metoo movement , going down into the deep history of mankind and deciphering why we behave the way we do, which puts these topics in an entirely different light. Next, he has talked about our thought process and how our brain processes the world around us. The author gives a rough guide into how we can monitor our thoughts and emotions and hack our brain into finding content and happiness in life. For all that the book seems to cover, the writing has been finely tuned, is continuous and gripping. The book is filled with educating, intricate details and arguments. It lays down a world before you that you rarely explore in academic textbooks. Based on empirical knowledge by an author who himself is a geologist.
5 Questions of the Inquisitive Ape Author: Subhrashis Adhikari Language: English Print Length: 206 pages Format: Kindle Edition
5 questions to find answers to few age-old fundamental questions. life and its evolution with the help of popular sciences like physics, chemistry and biology to discuss human psyche and answers. There are so many important and interesting facts and figures that I have never been aware of. t is a book worth buying because it gives you a lot of knowledge and the value of rereading and understanding important facts about life, human existence, feelings, emotions, sex . author has put forward some very rational arguments, over certain issues, but has left it to the reader to come to conclusions .
It's reaply very nice book to read, The title clearly expresses what the book is about! Don't worry if you can't interpret The book provides understanding about 1 existence 2 sense of existence 3 sex 4 life 5 feelings Though I don't agree with every aspect of the book but, I found it very interesting to read the opinion and thoughts. Author has very well narrated and presented the ideas and the purpose is clearly defined. If you want to add more coins to your treasure of knowledge, add it to you shelf (and ofcourse read it) From narration, to presentation and concept in glad to give it 4.3 stars! And yes I recommend this book to those who are interested in the questions this books promises to answer, don't worry if you onow a lot about them... It's always good to learn opinions of others.
I am someone who finds peace in books. I read and forget everything about my day. But time and again there have been books that made me sit up and think. Think long and hard about things going on around me, about how things are and how they should be. And this is one such book, which I am pretty sure will reach the first place on my list soon. You see it's not only about hearing a good advice that makes you want to follow it. It's having something to relate, something that will make you realize that 'wow this can happen to me too' and that's what the writer gives us. Stories which leave a mark, stories that are relatable and make you understand situations better. Loved the storytelling and the advice then became an added bonus.
I loved this book, legit adored reading it. Sometimes people forget that there's something other than the flawed logics of religion, radical thinking and the stereotypes and prejudices we've acquired over evolution ; and that something is common sense and simplicity of correlation and causal effect. Logical reasoning, sensible arguments and proofs, no senseless banter by the author to prove their thoughts; all are some major plus points. The work is sensible (like SENSIBLE sensible). Engaging and entertaining in the least, I loved having a new perspective on the various aspects of life that the author had decided to touch upon. Being a psychology major, studying human behavior is what I do. And this certainly helped me in broadening my thinking a bit more. Will definitely recommend.
This book is a self help book . It answers 5 questions which must have crossed everyone's mind . I did enjoy reading this book , it was a one sitting book for me . I love how Adhikari twist the readers mind through his writing style . But I have some mixed feelings about this one . I liked the fact that the writer has done a lot of research on the subjects that were being discussed , but honestly sometimes I felt like I was reading a history or biology textbook (kidding😂) . This book is a fact based self help and I'll recommend it to anyone who can get his hands on it I don't really reads books of this genre but this I picked up bcoz a very generous person sent this to me so so thankyou very much
After a long time I'm reading a book like this. We have read fiction, self-help books, non fiction and many more but the subject of this is really different and I loved that. Its about our own existence. "Life is nothing but an electron looking for a place to test..." I have how the author started all the things from the beginning and narrated all the things clearly. The title is subjective and appropriate. The cover is beautiful.
Firstly hats off to the Author for choosing such a nice subject and coming out with a fascinating /amazing book. It has tons of information to know about our origin, our past, our present and for our future. The clarity and flow of information is too good. The history that we know is usually religion based, society based, cultural based etc and so biased, that whereas the author explains the same with help of science to remove most of inhibitions and biased learnings. Simple words are used to explain difficult theories for readers thereby keeping the readers completely interested and engrossed. While reading the book one would be amazed by the information regarding evolution, interconnection with everything living, the functions of body and would definitely start appreciating his physical existence. The best part of book which I liked the most is the pursuit to happiness part. A must read book for all who want to know about our origin and existence.
If you're looking for a self help book Well this one is a gem You must have a read this It's so wonderfully written No grammatical mistakes could be find Language is really easy here And the cover of the book is cool And the title related to the content of the book.

Book : 5 Questions Of The Inquisitive Apes. Genre : Self-Help. (Non-fiction). Author : Subhrashis Adhikari. Publishers : Srishti Publishers & distributors.
This is a powerful read mainly discussing 5 questions - 1) How we came to be? 2) How do we make sense of the universe around us? 3) Is sex bad? 4) Who are we? 5) How to be happy?
in a very impactful manner. Each of these questions intrigued me to the point of picking it up to read. The amount of reasearch, the clarity of thoughts the author has intended to express make this book worth reading. The language used is quite easy to follow. I was able to connect to the book in a very good way for it's precisely written. Nothing is dragged or overdone. The choice of words is appropriate to the ideas discussed in the book.
Overall, it's a very nice bunch of information & curiousities in the form of a book.
This book answers 5 questions that keep bugging inquisitive people. The questions are - How we came to be? How we make sense of the universe around us? Is sex bad? Who are we? How to be happy?
What is unique about these questions is that these are not basic questions about science or general knowledge. They are actual practical questions, that come in some people's minds or for some, even not. The author has cleared all surface doubts and has tried his best to clear deep doubts. But of course, there is never enough. The book has got a lot to learn from it. My favorite was the 'Is sex bad?' part as it cleared almost all necessary doubts about sexuality. In today's world, when sex education has become necessary, nobody clearly provides it and kids end up learning wrong things from the internet. I like how he has showed clear differences between gay, lesbian, masculine, feminine and bisexual. I love how the questions are answered wisely and through scientific research. You should definitely give this book a try. I bet your mind will be bursting with ideas. Although this book will not quench all your thirst for answers but will make things clear and clear for you and open new doors for you to come at your own conclusions.
am a big time self help bools fan, and believe me i have loved this book. This book contains alot of knowledge about of past, present and future. The best part about the book is the part where pursuit to happiness is explained. The 5 intriguing questions that actually generate more questions are... 1. How we came to be ? 2. How do we make sense of universe around us 3. Is sex bad ? 4. Who actually are we ? 5. How to be happy ? (The most intresting ) For me this book was a personal developement and self help series. The history we know is generally based on religion and society and is biased, but here the author explains it with the help of science to remove the biased based information. Kuddos to tge author foe this amazing piece of infodmation and self help. A must read book for the ones qho are intrested in knowing about our origin and existence.
‘5 Questions of the Inquisitive Apes’ is a non-fiction book consists of answers of almost every question out there related to evolution, how do we make sense around this universe, who we are, how to be happy and is sex bad? The book is a package of information and successfully delivers the answers to the questions along with supporting arguments and facts.
The book is divided into 5 parts, answering every question with each chapter being a building block successfully contributing to express the essence of the question. Author presents information in an organized sequence and has a unique way of delivering it: from the science of our eye to the science of cosmos; from how we came to be to how we make sense of universe around us; from our history of sex to #metoo and LGBTQ; from how to understand people to who we are; from biological science to spirituality and Ayurveda: everything is explained in detail in just 186 pages. It amazes me how much the author can explain in a few words. Every time, whenever I feel there couldn’t be anything else, the author comes up with another topic or another angle to this life.
The title is interesting and apt and the cover is appealing. The language is simple, vivid and understandable. Although, there are some jargon used but almost all of them has an explanation. Various diagrams are used to make us understand the concept, also various examples from different areas like GOT, Danial Kahneman’s ‘Thinking Fast and Slow’, Bhagavad Geeta, etc., are used to make us understand the concept clearly. It seems clear that a great deal of research has been done by the author.
Questions at the end of almost every chapter create a cliffhanger syndrome. The writing style is unique and conversational and narration is proper throughout the book. There are some editing and grammatical errors. With finesse in formatting and editing, this book could be best among its category. Though the book has only 208 pages, including bibliography provided, it is not one sit read; the time to read this book totally depend upon your grasping ability.
Overall, the book is enlightening and a must-read. As non-fiction isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, this book will serve to those who love informative reads and want to know about everything. Also, people from the non-scientific background can read it too. In the end, I want to request the author to keep creating such great books with tons of information in just few pages.
