Pretend I'm Yours

Rate this book
Against my better judgment, I’m her hero now.

I couldn’t go back to the military after my injury.
My friends and I were at a club when I stepped in to save a girl from her crazy ex.
The next thing I knew, I agreed to be her fake husband.
Now all I have to do is spend her money and pretend to be married to her.
It’s a sweet deal, but I’m having a hard time keeping my mind off her sweet ass.
We’re only pretending.
We’re not really married.
We’re not even having sex. Yet.
It’s only a matter of time.
But, I sure as hell can’t afford to fall in love with a rich girl like her.
Her evil ex returns, but he has no idea who he’s messing with.

It may have started out as pretend, but I will make that girl mine, body and soul.

Take the title to heart

Pretend you love this story if you read it. Nothing in this story held my attention. MC meet and in a matter of minutes our H is agreeing to move in and be her fake hubby! Minutes people! Immature characters, opposite of alpha male, Family dynamics suck and friends of both MC aren't much better. Not a fan of this story.

Good romance between reconstruction and protection
Beautiful characters who no longer want relationshipsbecause their past with love, damaged them: Drake, a Navy Seal, divorced and disappointed by his wife unfaithful and the love, who runs away from any serious relationship and Hannah who has fled a relationship where money became the only point of interest of her former manipulative boyfriend, a corrupt former police officer who now harasses her, while she only wants to help troubled youth. When his ex assaults her in a club and that Drake saves her, he offers her (without really believing in it), to be her new boyfriend and it will allow Hannah to be officially with someone and Drake's friends will stop to comment on his celibacy. Beyond a simple relationship they agree to make believe that they are married.
I found that the whole thing was well written with good characters and some twists because of the threats hanging over Hannah.

ONE THRILLING READ!!!
Wow! Talk about spinning. This is such a thrilling rollercoaster ride with a plethora of emotions to sort through as you follow along to see what happens next. You're not going to believe how this little treasure plays out. I have to say this is one interesting tale. One fast paced, action packed, page turning bombshell that grabs your attention and holds steady from start to finish. The characters are realistic, well developed and believable with just enough flaws to relate. Their personalities are unique with qualities and traits that balance out perfectly. The scenes are so graphic and descriptive it paints a fantastic backdrop that really makes the storyline pop. The twists and turns, ups and downs, along with a few glitches, bumps and bruises bring this bad boy roaring to life brilliantly. Throw in all the suspense and danger along with uncertainty and you have yourself one amazing plot. Natasha did a remarkable job bringing this read together beautifully. Thanks Natasha for sharing this awesome read with us.

This is one enjoyable story about Hannah, a wealthy woman who turns away from that lifestyle as much as possible and Drake, a man out of the military due to an injury while serving trying to find his way in the civilian world. Hannah has ended her relationship with Brandon who her parents approved of and he will not let her move on. Drake’s ex-wife treated him badly and he has hardened himself from love. One night Hannah is out at a club and her ex is seen by Drake being rough with her. Drake takes care of him and both Hannah and Drake come to an agreement to be a pretend married couple. Drake moves in with Hannah and things between them heat up and neither can believe what they feel for each other. They do not admit their true feelings until it is too late and once Drake does everything in his power to protect Hannah do they finally admit how they feel. Will Hannah and Drake be able to move forward with their own way of life or will her parents High society life end them before they really begin? I received this book for an honest review. This was a fast paced story about Drake who was a Seal in the Navy starting to get his life back after finding his wife left him for his best friend. When he decides to go out for drinks with his friends he happens to see a woman being accosted by a man who happens to be her ex. Drake has an instant attraction to Hannah and once they speak she wants him to pretend to be her husband so her ex will stop stalking her. Hannah comes from a wealthy family who are at odds with her because of her choice of career and is willing to pay him. Drake needs money to start over and decides to take Hannah's offer, but things aren't always what they seem, the chemistry between these two is instantaneous and neither one wants to admit they are falling in love. Once Hannah is kidnapped by her ex and Drake comes to her rescue they realize they are meant to be together as each finally gets what they have been searching for. I highly recommend this book.

This was a different take on the fake marriage storyline as most of the time, the "marriage of convenience" is so one can get an inheritance or stop questions from family at a reunion. Hannah and Drake's "marriage" was to try to get her stalker of an ex to finally move on and leave her alone. Overall, the story was well written and kept my interest. However, at the same time, I feel that I missed a lot of the build up of connection between Hannah and Drake. When they started admitting the feelings they had for the other to themselves, I thought, where did that come from. We didn't get to experience much of the "getting to know each other" stage. Other, than wanting to see more of that, I enjoyed the story. Hannah and Drake were perfect for each other. Whereas, her parents and both of their exes were easy to dislike.

Unrealistic

That s would have been a good book. Then the author comes up with this...

She didn’t want to live in luxury. She wanted to be closer to the people she was trying to help, and never felt that she was quite with them when she came home to a place that was far nicer than anything they ever got to have.

Being an ex-social worker I can tell you this mindset is a joke. Her wealth doesn't always come from money, it comes with how you hold yourself, style of talking, manners and mannerisms, how you dress. That is what was so fake.

Also, the wealthy people who she didn't want to be? THEY are the ones who donate money, buildings and help with services. It's their feel good money and also a tax write off. She could have done MORE by helping that way than actually be in the trenches.

Silly book. But it was well written and edited.

I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book. I enjoyed this book, Hannah and Drake were explosive together. Drake just getting out of the military and trying to put his life in order comes to the rescue of a woman being hassled, so what’s a gentleman to do? That’s right, put a stop to it. Hannah’s ex is all up in her grille and won’t take the hint to leave and when Drake shows up, the only thing that quickly comes to mind is to pretend to be something they are not to make him go away. Will Drake go along with her plan or will he be the perfect gentleman and say thanks but no thanks? No spoilers, here, great read, I highly recommend it.

Whew, Ms. Natasha Black, your creation of this thrilling and addictive read was just what I needed. Trying to heal from the pain of their past, for different reasons, has brought Drake and Hannah together. This is a riveting and addictive book you are sure to become as engrossed in as I was. It was all supposed to be pretend... so why isn't it? You've got to read this book.

I was beyond fortunate to have requested an advanced reader's copy of Pretend I'm Yours in exchange for my honest/voluntarily given opinion. Truly, I am the lucky one here. I can not wait to see what is next from this brilliant Author.

Hannah’s ex is stalking her. To make him go away, she asks Drake to be her fake husband. He’s ex-military and looking for a place and a job. He moves in with her and agrees to pose as her husband in exchange for a place to stay and a payment at the end. Her family has money but she wants to make her own way and contribute to society. She’s high society and he’s not.

They develop real feelings but each is scared to tell the other. When her ex shows up making trouble, Hannah has to see if Drake will really come through for her and what is possible for their future. This is worth a read!

🌟4 Stars🌟-Great (had my attention and I enjoyed it),

Dual POV; Standalone; HEA. No cliffhanger;

Very straight forward with this read. Ex-military man, trying to move forward from a past that's left him heartbroken. A smart heroine from an affluent home trying to cut ties with those who won't support her life's passion to help the less fortunate. She's in need of a protector. Protecting is all he knows to do. One night leads to a future of possibilities. This book has a little of everything. Love, strength, heartbreak, crime and passion. I will definitely read more from this author.

I voluntarily reviewed an arc of this book. Drake is ex-military, needing a job and place to stay. Hannah has an ex who is stalking her. She made a deal with Drake he could stay with her, have all expenses paid if he pretends to be her husband. The deal is struck. But what was suppose to be pretend, turns real for both of them, except they're each too afraid to tell the other. Natasha Black has given us flawed characters in a storyline as predictable as time. There are a few variations of course and the characters themselves are what make the book. It was a good book to curl up and relax with.

What a roller coaster of emotions!
Pretend Your Mine deals with a stalker ex boyfriend. Trying to get away from the controlling and obsessed ex, who won’t go away. Of course a solution would be a pretend relationship.
Talk about getting hit from multiple sides. Issues with her wealthy parents and their expectations. Dealing with a manipulative and controlling ex boyfriend.
What’s going to happen when a guy she just met is willing to help out. Deal with ex and her parents.
I highly recommend.

A well written story with nice storyline and plot. It is written in dual POV which gives the more of the thoughts and feelings of the main characters. Likeable characters with nice chemistry and passion.
A mix of drama, danger, crazy ex, secrets, fake and emotions. But as often in fake relationships this also is not all that.
I would have wished more connection to the characters and more passionate feelings. I missed erotic or romantic scenes where I as a reader could see that they wanted each other for real.
But apart from this it is an enjoyable read and recommendable.

Pretend becomes real
Hannah is dealing with her abusive cop ex boyfriend that was controlling and obsessed. Since he won’t go away she comes up with the idea of a pretend relationship that will hopefully also take care of her wealthy parents’ expectations. She meets Drake, who is recently out of the Navy when they have been dragged out to a club. After he saves her from the jerk they come up with a plan that he is her husband. Great characters, story, and writing.

I really liked this fake relationship romance. Drake and Hannah are really good together and you want everything to work out but, of course, there are some people in Hannah's life that just keep interferring. The way their relationship develops and the attraction builds makes for a really steamy read. The encounters with Brandon, Hannah's ex-boyfriend and her parents make you want to go nuts on them and kick them out of the story. I recommend this book especially because of the much deserved happily ever after.

What starts out as a fake relationship turns into so much more. Drake and Hannah are opposites but the are so good for each other. I know most people don't like the "love each other but don't want to tell each other" stories but I do because it makes me root for them even more. Great writing, steamy read and a made for each other couple make this a must read. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.

Wow what a lovely story. It gave us alot to think about and how to handle situations that may come up...like an ex stalking or ex cheating or just about anything. Hannah and Drake showed us that love is real and we just have to fight for it. Awesome read and I give it 5 stars. I voluntarily read and reviewed this book as an Advanced Reader's Copy

Drake out of the Navy returns home, but really has nothing there anymore. Hannah broke up with her abusive cop boyfriend who won;t leave her alone. Both are drug out to a club, by their friends, and Drake saves Hannah. Hannah jokes about Drake being her fake husband, and it seems like a plan! These two face what could be insurmountable odd to have what they both want!

This is an interesting story with a bit of a twist on the usual guy who saves the girl from an abusive ex boyfriend. It also reverses the guy being richer than the girl. There was some action and a lot of courtly behavior to show up the difference between right and wrong whatever your station in life. This is a very moralistic tale.

Read it!

You will enjoy this book on many levels. The characters are sympathetic people you enjoy reading about. The problem is the length-it is too short. I wanted to explore the main love story. The characters who are bad are also under developed. And the plot gallops at a fast pace which would be better if the pace varies.

Hannah and Drake

Her ex boyfriend is stalking her. When he grabs her in a nightclub Drake came to her rescue. She jokingly says she should marry him to protect her from the ex. Then she decides it’s a great idea and hires Drake to be her fake Husband.

This is a good story with interesting characters but the editing is really poor.

I loved this one. Hannah and Drake are great characters. This is a sweet read full of quid pro quos, things left unsaid, much angst and drama. It's an emotional roller coaster with suspense thrown in for good measure too.

Needs work

I have to agree with other reviewers. It is a good story and could be a great story if the editing was improved. This book was not ready for publication. Some parts were over written and others were “huh, what just happened?”

While I liked the idea of the story I did not enjoy the execution. I did not feel a connection to the characters and wish they talked to each other more. I did like the ending and how throughout the story Hannah was willing to stand up to her family to pursue the career she wanted.
