I've pieced together my understanding of Bitcoin over the years through conversations (thanks Sunshine), scanned articles, and light experiments with the currency and technology. I even built a Raspberry Pi node with the blockchain ledger, storing all transactions on my 1TB external drive. For whatever reason, I sat there flabbergasted at that setup and thought to myself, "Uhh, now what?" :-D
What I really needed was a simple, fun, and easy-to-digest book that captured all aspects of the Bitcoin ecosystem to continue my learning journey. I am *very* satisfied with this book.
This wasn’t the first time my mind was blown by questions like, "What is currency?" "What is finance?" and "What is an asset?" But if you’ve never paused to really think about it... get ready. :-D
Next comes the practical, hands-on "Get off zero" advice (basically, go buy some Bitcoin!) with directions to help you purchase properly and as safely as possible today.
2.5 stars I knew Bitcoin was a Ponzi scheme, and a big con, but I had questions about it. for example, about what is known as mining, and also why did it take so much energy to run bitcoin. I got my questions answered. Obviously this author is promoting Bitcoin; well, he was hired by the con artists, right? Anyways, I am tired of reading about it in this book, I'm going to try other books about it that give a more unbiased opinion and information about buttcoin.
I read this book to learn about Bitcoin and it was very informative and well written. It is mind boggling and opened many Rabbit Holes to jump into deep learning.
This book is a good start to understanding bitcoin, its history, and how to utilize this futuristic form of currency. My greatest takeaway was a huge mindset shift of how we view money. It wasn’t rocket science, it blew my mind in a different perspective that was unexpected.
