YOU ARE MINE, AND TOGETHER, WE ARE WHOLE
Every now and then you pick up a book by a new author, and you are mesmerized and held captive by the story—and that is exactly what happened reading this book by Ms. Gray. The story is part mystery, suspense, danger, brokenness, new beginnings, angst, and in the midst of life and death danger, a love story emerges. Throw in a dominant detective who is a Daddy Dom, and a young woman who is struggling to make something of herself, a pinch of BDSM, plenty of spankings served up with love and you have Absolving Amy.
Amy is a girl who was raised in foster homes, given empty promises and never knew what love really was. The closest she comes to friendship is her casework, Addie. When a man makes her feel special by flirting with her, he then turns on her, drugging her up and pimping her out. But even Amy escapes that life and is in college working on a degree. Late one night, she will be in the wrong place at the wrong time—witnessing a murder—and then fleeing for her life, What a surprise to pull into the police station and into the arms of Detective Ben De Luca—the man she had a one night fling with at Addie and Brad’s wedding.

The plot will have Brad taking Amy into protective custody after she witnesses a hit murder by Los Diablos members. Getting her to understand the gravity of the situation, how her life is in danger, and how she must follow their rules gets her into serious trouble. Ben isn’t going to take any chances, and he shows Amy what a Daddy Dom is all about with multiple spankings.

The story is a beautiful and emotional relationship that develops between Amy and Ben, one that has mild age-play with a Daddy Dom-little girl scenario. While several scenes include strict discipline, there is also the loving, nurturing side to this new dynamic. The sex scenes are steamy but not overly explicit. The story is more the emotions, the threats, and the suspense of keeping Amy safe so she can testify in court. It is also healing from the emotional trauma of what life has dealt her.

This is a wonderful first novel by RJ Gray. Amy is a young woman who has had a rotten life so far. She is determined to make herself and her life better and she has a plan to get there! Unfortunately (or fortunately, depends on how you view it!) life conspires against her. She witnesses a hit by the local gang. She runs to the police and finds herself in the care of Ben, a man she had a one night stand with while at her friend's wedding. Ben takes her into his protective care and along the way, Amy learns what it is to trust her Daddy.
There are lots of spankings and some very stern discipline scenes. There is a Daddy Dom and his little girl. There really isn't any ageplay as Ben just wants her to be able to trust him. I loved this book and I look forward to many more from this author!

I like a book that has a strong Daddy Dom with woman who can stand her own ground but still need the discipline required by her man. R.J. Gray's book fits that perfectly. There is drama, suspense, mystery and lots of hot sex. Always a good combination. While I like the sex, there also has to be a good story to go along with it and I really loved this book. Ben and Amy are perfect together and need each other in order for their lives to be complete. You can bet I'll be waiting for more books from this author. She knows her stuff!

one night stand leads to more
The foster system most definitely failed Amy as she aged out of it.
Living out of her car and working multiple jobs just to help with expenses witnesses a murder by a drug cartel/gang she rushes to the police station to explain what happened.
Upon arriving, she runs into her one night stand Officer Ben.
Ben is just leaving when Amy pulls into the police parking lot with bullet holes in her car and windows shattered.
After she explains what happened, they have to take her car for evidence and that is when Ben realizes that she is currently living out of her car.
Ben takes her home to stay in his guest room due to the fact that she witnessed the murder and now is in danger herself.
Ben was upset that Amy left in the early morning after their one night stand without so much as a note, name or phone number.
They both know how explosive with night was but are now at a crossroad because Amy is now under Bens protection.
Now, you have to read for yourself what happens....LOTS of action, sex and spankings.
I reallyed loved reading this book and hope you do too.

For her first published book RJ did a great job. It reads like a seasoned author. The story line was interesting. I found the daddy and spanking thing intriguing. I don't think I'm a domestic discipline candidate but I can see the benefits of it being able to center you and help you gain control and focus. I loved how Ben was able to break down Amys walls and show her how it is to be loved. She was a very strong resilient young lady and deserves to have a happy ending. If I have one negative it would be that the epilogue was rushed, events were barely touched on and I personally would have liked more of the story once they were over the stress and she was OK. I will be keeping up with this author in the future.

Ms. Gray is a new author to me, but I one-clicked her book when I saw the description. And after the first chanter I was hooked. It had the set up for one of the things that hooks me in faster than most - ANGST (with a peek at the sexy to come). And as I read on, I was NOT disappointed. I appreciated that this was a nice length with a very engaging storyline. Amy, with her adorable musical quirks, her extreme trust issues, her total desire despite all of this... was perfect. And Ben, the sizzling hot detective who is determined that Amy will be HIS. This book was a winner for me and I am looking forward for more from Ms. Gray!

Having read books 1 and 3 in this set, but somehow missed 2, but since they are all standalone reads there is no story missing. I love a dominant man who knows what he wants, and this is Ben. Right from the start he's all in for Amy, and it doesn't matter what she is dealing with, or what her past reveals, as far as Ben is concerned, Amy is his. Amy, however, takes some convincing.
I loved almost everything about this book but I did find that there was a section about half/three quarters in, that had Amy getting punished repeatedly within a very short space of time, which I found a bit difficult. However, it wasn't enough to drop my 5star rating, though.

Yes, Daddy!

RJ's first book is a spanking success in my eyes. Amy has had a rough go in life and she keeps everyone at arms length, and rightfully so. Ben walks into her life and even though she wants him in her life, she can't help but test him. Thankfully Ben is a Daddy and he won't walk away from his baby girl like she thinks. These two go on one serious journey. Ben is determined to keep Amy safe and that he does. This is a fabulous book and you'd be crazy not to read it! I'm looking forward to more from RJ Gray!

Amy has had a really rough life, including a time as a prostitute. A brief fling with Ben, a detective and retired military man, followed by meeting him again, after she witnesses a drug-related murder, leads to a developing relationship with Ben, as he tries to keep her safe. There is a wonderful developing domestic discipline relationship between them, and a lot of angst as she gradually gets out from under the demons of her past. I liked both characters, as well as their friends and others in the story. It was well written, moved fast, and was enjoyable.

This is a new author and while it is always exciting to try them, it isn't always enjoyable. This one was all I could have hoped for. Characters Ben and Amy were well developed. The love, well delivered and while one spanking scene seemed a little harsh, they were well written. You knew he loved her and she learned to love him unconditionally. Story was believable and the events, while gruesome, weren't badly done. Nothing overdone. I will definitely read another book. Can't wait.

Wonderful
This book was absolutely wonderful. I got alot of new books this Christmas, many by new authors. Very few of those new authors made it to my immediate "I love them" status, actually only one did. This one. The book was very well written and was exactly what I wanted to read. The story was well done and didn't seem fake or written by someone who had no idea what she was writing about. I'm glad to have a new favorite author. Try the book, if you like military, first responder and DD, then you will be as happy as I am.

RJ Gray has written an excellent story filled with excitement, intrigue, but most importantly how two people fall in love with each other during some difficult times. Amy is a down on her luck college student, living in her car, when she witnesses a brutal murder. In steps Ben, the dashing detective, who not only wants to protect Amy, he wants to be her Daddy. There is domestic discipline in the book, so if you are not into that, you might not want to read the book. On that note, however, if you don't read the book, you will be missing a wonderful, action packed, love story. Well done!!!

While some might find the ending unbelievable, I found it refreshing to be different than the typical romantic suspense wrap-up. Some ideas are repeated a bit too often, but it's likely realistic when someone believes something so negative about themselves all the time. The domestic discipline is harsher in this book than it's predecessor. If belt spankings are a trigger, I would advise against reading this book. I did like how the characters delved into the psychology of domestic discipline very specifically because in most books readers are required to infer it in softer language.

For her first book I have to say I loved it!! A story of a Daddie and his little girl, for woman who's life was as troubled and full of grief as Amy to find a man, as loving and caring as Ben was just a pure stroke of luck for them both. As they work through the isdues life has throw at them you watch a wonderful loving relationship blossom. Fast paced, well written read that you just can't wait to finish!

I read a few excerpts in advance of this release and was really excited to finally get my hands on the book. I wasn't disappointed. Both characters were very likeable. I liked Amy for her independence and Ben for his loyalty. They worked very well together. The crime drama definitely kept things interesting. I liked that the author was willing to add some dark elements to the story to make the drama more realistic. I look forward to reading more from this author.

As I read this book, I found myself wondering what it would be like to have a spanking. If my hubby would even do it. In this book Amy calls Ben Daddy. Ben is a big man. That makes him a Big Daddy. Amy witnessed a murder. Ben, a police detective, will do anything to keep her safe, and find the killer. An enjoyable read. Pam James.

A little different
This book contained a lot of domestic discipline, which I’ve never really read about previously. It was also a “daddy dom” book and I don’t usually “do” daddy doms. It’s just not my typical type of bdsm read. The story line, however in the book was engaging and captivating. If you are prepared for a lot of spanking then the book is for you.

Loved it..
A wonderful story of acceptance and forgiveness...a strong alpha detective and a young woman learning to not only trust him but herself too. Being a witness to a murder is so not what Amy needed in her well organised life but having Detective Ben protecting her has it's own rewards...as long as she allows love in....

I really enjoyed this book. He was the perfect Daddy Dom. She needed help letting go of her past. The severity of the danger she was in created trouble for them and brought them together at the same time. Highly emotional and steamy. Yes please!

Great book
This is such a great book with some mystery and suspense and lots of love in it. It has a beautiful example of a Daddy Dom with his little girl and the loving relationship and trust they have.

This was a real fun read. I hadn’t really read anything from this author until I found adjusting Addie, after that I wanted to read more of her stuff. Any finds herself in the wrong place at the wrong time. Ben helps her with all of it! This a really great read!

This was an intriguing book I loved the characters so much emotions and feelings lot's of drama,suspense,and a beautiful ending .Thank you for this awesome read.
