People will go to extraordinary lengths to keep their families together, and for many this includes four-legged members. While it’s easier to travel with pets these days, it’s not always smooth sailing with animals onboard.
From rambunctious dogs to rascally cats, with a few 'unexpected' cruising pets thrown in, our writers expose the depth of love for their furry friends with touching, humorous, and unusual pet yarns.
Prepare to meet Patch the sailing guinea pig, Pi-Rat, and Roger the cheeky booby bird!
These are cruising companions who love their life onboard and add a new dimension of adventure for their devoted families.
This was such a fun and charming anthology about pets on boats. I loved the variety of stories - both in terms of the different styles/tones and the different animals presented (it's not just cats and dogs, rats and other creatures feature as well). I especially enjoyed the stories written from the pets' point of view. Always interesting to get insight into what our furry friends are really thinking about :)
If you enjoy sailing (whether on your own boat or from the comfort of your armchair) and love animals, this is something you'll want to check out.
Kudos to SisterShip Press for yet another wonderful anthology which gives female boaters a chance to share their stories about life on the water!
I've been a fan of independent anthologies for a while now. They give you a chance to explore new and different writers and often raise money for charity. Voyaging pets was released by Sistership publishing a few months ago. We were chuffed to bits that our old sea dog Susie was included. It's full of stories entered into a competition and includes dogs, cats and other more obscure creatures that inhabit sailing boats all over the globe. A delight for animal lovers and sailors alike.
