DECEPTION INTRODUCED THEM. DANGER UNITED THEM. DESIRE INFLAMED THEM.
He owed his livelihood to the Tanners, not to mention his life. So when asked to keep an eye on their estranged family member, Luke Jordan agreed. He answered Lauren Tanner's handy man ad...as directed...to spy on her.
Soon the lovely new resident of Tanner's Crossing became more than just an assignment for him. She was sensual, bold and able to look beyond the scars Luke could never ignore. But she was of Tanner blood and therefore hands-off. Until the threats began and he questioned which Tanner deserved his allegiance...for all time.
I liked how the author had Luke as the uncertain person in the story, feeling he wasn't good enough for Lauren. It was interesting to read their inter-actions as Lauren was reluctant to fall in love again. Adding in a little mystery with it appearing as if someone may be after Lauren helped keep the book interesting.
