Two biological sisters. Two different families. Will an old photograph prompt a reunion? When Ashley Stevens discovers a box of photos that remind her of her difficult childhood with cancer, she wants to push that box aside while keeping her promise to her adoptive grandmother to create scrapbooks from the pictures in the trunk. A photo of herself as a young child sitting beside a smaller girl continues to haunt her. Who is she and why does the toddler’s face look so much like her own? Between her job at the animal shelter, waiting on a proposal from and her boyfriend of three years, and his troubled family, will Ashley ever discover who the girl is? There’s nothing Kayla Witherspoon wants more than to quit medical school. After two grueling years, it is time she tell her parents the truth—that she desires to be a fashion designer, not a doctor like them. Adding to her fear of imperfection, a woman claims Kayla has a biological sister. She’s gotten along fine as an only child. Why would she need a sibling now?

Heartwarming and rich, Capture Me by Sherry Kyle did, in fact, capture me. Ashley and Kayla’s struggles with identity and the meaning of family resonate and remind us to treasure the people in our lives—no matter how flawed. Throw in a glorious beach setting, two sweet romances, a moody teenager, and a lovable Labrador retriever—what’s not to love? Highly recommended.
It’s rare that I read a book more than once, but Capture Me by Sherry Kyle did just that, it captured me, twice. Kyle has written a story that both charms and touches on deep issues. Reading it once won’t be enough.
In Capture Me, Sherry Kyle paints an emotional and inspirational story of memories and how they shape us. The delightful ensemble cast makes for an entertaining and thought-provoking read. Highly recommended!
Families are complicated, and Kyle skillfully weaves a poignant tale that touches every aspect of family relationships. Capture Me captures the reader with likable characters learning who they are in the midst of real life situations. Each character evolves through their relational interactions, and together as a family their union strengthens through various trials. Even their family crises and secrets end up drawing them closer. Capture Me offers a warm-hearted story of discovery, true family love and devotion, and the redemption of loss.
I love books that both entertain and make me think. Capture Me by Sherry Kyle does just that. This story of two siblings split up at a very young age, Kayla and Ashley, and how they find each other as adults is an intriguing plot. But the realistic portrayal of emotions evoked is what drew me in and kept me reading. Family is complicated and so much more than the sharing of biological DNA. Capture Me ... captures the complexities, but also the love. A well-rounded read with, romance, relationships, and family. I highly recommend it. Blossom Turner
Two sisters are separated at a young age and adopted into two very different families. In their adult years they find each other along with their respective love and lives.
I enjoyed this book although I did find it a bit repetitive in places.
Capture Me is a sweet romance that kept me up far later than I intended...like until the end of the book. The author uses flawed characters, family trials, and two long-lost sisters to weave a sweet story of belonging, forgiveness, and love. Definitely an enjoyable read! *I received a complimentary e-copy of this book and was not required to leave a positive review. All expressed opinions are my own.
