Shannon is a born and raised Texan. She grew up inventing clever stories, usually to get herself out of trouble. Her mother was not amused. In junior high, she began writing fractured fairy tales from the villain's point of view and that was the moment she knew that she was going to use her powers for evil instead of good.

In 2003, she moved to Denver and met the love of her life. After some relentless stalking and a few well-timed sarcastic remarks, the man eventually gave in to her charms and wifed her so hard. They welcomed a son in 2007 that they named after their favorite Marvel superhero, Spiderman.

Sick of seeing beautiful mountains through their window every day, the three escaped back to the desolate landscape of the west Texas desert in 2009. She welcomed her second son not long after and soon realized that being surrounded by three men was nothing at all like she'd imagined in her fantasies.

After an unplanned surgery in 2014 and a long pity party, she decided to pen a novel about the worst thing that could happen to a person in order to cheer herself up. She's twisted like that. Thus, From This Day Forward was born and the rest, as they say, is history.

Not only does Shannon enjoy stalking people, she also has a fondness for being stalked. Visit her at www.shannonshaemyers.com to keep up with her latest schemes and shenanigans.

***FOUR STARS***

I'm just writing one review for both stories, From This Day Forward (Part 1) and Forsaking All Others (Part 2), mostly because I'm too lazy to write proper reviews for both stories.

I actually enjoyed both stories quite a bit.
The rest of this review has spoilers so don't read on unless you are okay with that......

A definite page turner. A captivating story about sad mistakes and the undeniable urge for a second chance!

Lately, I’ve been picky about the books I read. Time is a constraint right now, so if I sit down and read, it has to be something gripping, interesting and engaging, otherwise, I drop the hat. This book, definitely surprised me.

I would ruin the story completely if I gave a brief summary. There is no way to avoid spoiling the story, even if I talk about the characters in general, therefore, I’ll provide an honest opinion about what to expect.

The story revolves around Elizabeth and her marriage. At first, she seemed your typical clichéd romance story heroine: a bit insecure, always praising other girls except herself and, at one point I was starting to wonder if she had a problem with self-respect. Turned out, I was so wrong. Elizabeth is just like you and me, flawed, human, in-love but also lonely and, thus prone to make bad choices, which ultimately lead her to make a terrible mistake.

The book is divided in three different “phases” revealing the real plot slowly and flawlessly. You believe the story from the start and then, it turns out there is much more to it, and everything you thought is just wrong. Characters you love, may be the ones you hate in the end; those you hate you might love, others… I assure you, mixed feelings will be on the menu. At times you'll be like this:

Now, for all of you HEA seekers and cheating haters, I must warn you! There is betrayal in the story, but, I could see past through it since it is the element that sets the whole plot. I believe this story is about real feelings, betrayal, love, romance, second chances and being able to mess up in order to realize the truth, and it’s pretty sexy! There were many things that actually knocked on my door and was able to identify with, so I loved reading this for sure.

Story ends with a major cliffhanger, which I surely didn’t see coming! No worries though, the second part will be out real soon. Promise! I am a cliffy hater myself….

Overall, the book is awesome! I highly recommend it if you want to be on the edge of your couch or favorite reading nook. For sure, you’ll not stop and devour it in one sitting, just as I did.
Always take a chance on a new author! Putting your story out there is not easy, so they are taking a chance too!

Well, Wow!
The confused and rushed beginning had me questioning the author’s writing style, and was sure I had picked up another flaky, muddled piece. But soon things settle down … before the book brings out the big guns! Talk about plot twists!

Trigger: This is a marriage in trouble/ Cheating story.

The plot is interesting because it is more a psychological story than a romance.
The heroine has some kind of amnesia with fake memories, which happens.
She painfully try to remember what happened and finds out both her and her husband were cheating, hurrah!
Her husband was cheating with her bff btw and she was cheating with some random.
Oh, and the husband apparently got her bf preggo.
Carramba!
And no, none of them cheated as a retaliation because they didn’t know about the partners cheating.
I just can’t.
They are just two people who are cheaters, and I don’t think there’s a lot of hope for them.
The first problem they had, they didn’t make it.
His dad has just died and she didn’t want to get pregnant so she got on the pill without telling him, and ok, there can be a difficult time but this doesn’t mean they have to cheat on each other like that.
And they were not even thinking about the reasons why they did it.
He only said that ow was there when he needed. So we know he will cheat again when another time the same thing happens.
And she admits om was giving her attentions that her husband wasn’t giving to her, so she let him seduce her.
Cliffhanger.

3 ⭐⭐⭐ - OK decent reads.
=====================
The story is a train wreck and we are stuck and entertained watching the disaster that is the heroes' lives. Continued in the next book.

He begins going through all the stages: denial—“The texts were meant for someone else,” anger—“Why were you going through my phone?” and finally acceptance— “I think I’m in love with her.”

I mentally check out as he attempts to make the situation better by telling me that it’s been going on for years. Four years to be exact.

How could I have not seen the signs right in front of me? When I complained that his friends didn’t like me, Landon would just say that I wasn’t trying hard enough and that I came across as standoffish.

“Elizabeth,—God, Elizabeth—I’m sorry. I don’t know what that was—I just saw you standing there half naked in my shirt and I didn’t think.”

“You think that was making love? Let’s call it what it was—an itch that needed to be scratched. I’m still a man—you can’t stick a barely dressed woman in front of me and expect me not to react. It shouldn’t have happened and I’m sorry to confuse you, but I still love Katie.”

“You u-us-used me—why?”

“Elizabeth,” He can barely get the words out, “Katie’s pregnant. She told me tonight and I’ll be the first to admit that I freaked out. I had a few drinks—it was irresponsible of me to come here. You’ve already been through—

I didn’t think he could hurt me worse than he already had, but

I’ve been cut open to the bone with this latest revelation

“Elizabeth, what has Landon won?” “Everything—he got me for four years and he had her on the side. Now, she’s giving him a baby and I’m left with nothing. I gave him everything and what do I have to show for it?”

My Prince Charming saved me only to throw me over the side of a fucking cliff when I became an inconvenience.”

“I’ve been with her for eight years—eight years—and now you’re telling me that for four of those years I’ve been sharing her with my best friend? And now, she’s having his baby?” I nod, not entirely

Meh...both the heroine and hero cheat independently without the other knowing, with the heroine cheating first when comparing timelines. Therefore, I don't really feel any angst or have any passionate feelings one way or the other because both made mistakes. How can either one justify being mad at the other?

Once the amnesia twist unravels in the beginning, the story gets boring. And there is a HUGE info dump to reveal the twist. No creativity or cleverness at all.

From This Day Forward by Shannon Myers a five-star read that you will want to be taken forward with. I thought I had already read everything by this author so really don’t know how I missed this one, what I will say is buy both this book and the next one Forsaking all others together as you will not want to risk not being able to read the second book or have any delay to reading it. Together they are the From this day forward duet and together they make the best read I’ve read in a long while. What a story!!! I can’t go into to many details as I don’t want to give spoilers and this story is one that will have your jaw dropping at so many different times, with plot twists that you won’t see coming. My favourite character is Elizabeth or Beth or Lizzie as she is sometimes known, we see many different sides of her during these two stories and each page shows us another dimension to the story. I couldn’t put either story down when I picked them up and have to thank Shannon Myers for writing a great story once again. I have some similarities to Elizabeth and things she gets up to in the story and it was nice seeing her and how she dealt with them. This story makes you thankful for every day you have alive. It also shows that just because you don’t get your happily ever after at first, it doesn’t mean you never will.

Do you ever read a book where there isn't a single redeemable character in the entire freaking thing? Yes? No? I've read a couple, but they always seem to get exactly what they deserve in the end.

This book? I hope you aren't looking for an HEA because this isn't it. This is one of those books where I'm pretty sure everyone gets what they deserve. You can even be satisfied with this ending if you like that kind of ending. However, if you want to see this all wrapped up, you're gonna have to grab book two.

Once you've had a taste of something forbidden, it's a lot easier to go back to it the second time around.

This pretty much sums up this entire book. The whole book is about love and betrayal. Betrayal, betrayal, betrayal. And this line, this line is the truth.

"You wanna get your fucking hands off of my wife or do you need some help?"

Probably my favorite line in the entire book. I crushed hard on David. And this totally alpha line is probably why.

Duet 1 and 2-This was a bit redundant in the telling. We open with Landon married to Elizabeth and he is cheating with Katie who is Landon’s bff Mikes wife. Jess is Elizabeth’s bff. David is nowhere man until right before the accident at the bar which subbed for the car crash irl. Elizabeth wakes up thinking she’s Landon’s wife when in reality she’s been married to David. The whole convoluted tale gets retold with the characters playing switcheroo…

Everyone cheated in this book. Everyone. I kind of hated this book but at the same time I was dying to find out what happens next, but what sucks is that this book was on KU, but the second is not. I am crossing my fingers that someday book 2 will be on KU, because otherwise I'm done here.

This book is about two realities. The first is where the fmc is cheated on by her husband. Landon and he leaves her for a woman , Katie. She's devastated but meets a prince charming named David at a club that her friend drags her out to.

She trips and falls and wakes up in the hospital with a sleeping David in her hospital bed. That's where we are introduced to the second pissible reality ( which as far as I was aware was the actual reality). In this reality David is a loving husband but works too much so the fmc finds solace in the arms of another man,Landon ( who had a ex gf that was a model named Katja) m David becomes distant and she suspects while she's home that he's also finding solace in someone else's arms. Landon becomes obsessive after she breaks things off to work on her marriage.

The author did a good job at parallelism, small derails in both realities (a accident caused head injury and memory loss).

The only thing is I didn't feel sorry or emphasize with the fmc in the second reality as I did in the first. She brought the issues upon herself and screwed up her marriage. Her husband is not much better by also cheating.

I'll be honest if I knew going in to the book, that the fmc was the cheater instead of the other way around I probably would have passed ( or at least assuming tgat the second possiblereality was what actually happened). Too late now though, I am now sucked in and have to read the second book to find out the destinies of the main characters

I'm curious to read the rest of their story in part 2 though despite my dislike for the fmc and mmcs actions.

Well this was interesting. The story begins with Beth discovering her husband has been cheating with his friend Katie for the 4 years they’ve been together. She’s trying to cope with this while going to therapy and her best friend Jess has been by her side throughout. One day out at a club with Jess, she meets David and hits it off. But just as she’s leaving with him, she falls and hits her head.

Beth wakes up in the hospital with David by her side, and it’s revealed she was brought in after a car accident in which she sustained a serious head injury. Turns out she’s been with David for 5 years and married for 3. No sign of Landon anywhere. He’s sweet during her recovery and readjustment at home until Landon suddenly shows up one day at her doorstep asking where she’s been and that he knew David has been keeping her locked up.

Turns out that David and Beth’s marriage hasn’t been all sunshine and roses since David is a workaholic building up his own company so he’s away from home most of the time. During this time Beth feels neglected and then David’s dad passes suddenly and he’s more absent and spends more time away also taking care of his mom. Beth meets Landon and begins an affair whenever David is out of town which last for about six months. David unaware of all this, decides he wants kids but Beth doesn’t since they have money issues and David is still absent most of the time so she takes pills not o get pregnant while deceiving David that she still wants kids. She begins therapy and her therapist tells her she’s letting the men in her life control her happiness and that she has to break it off with Landon or everything will blow up in her face. David becomes frustrated since she’s still not getting pregnant and she reveals that she’s on birth control. He blows up and leaves, but returns the same night and suggests they go on a trip to get back their magic.

After they return, Beth confesses to her coworker, Lauren who decides to help her not to cheat on David by coming over when David is out of town. Beth’s mother also finds out about her affair after someone saw her and Landon out and she confessed. David overhears part of the conversation and thinks her mom is not supportive of Beth’s therapy hence should distance herself. At their anniversary dinner, Landon is at the same restaurant and gropes Beth but David catches them and Landon plays it off as just being drank.

Back to the present, David stumbles upon Landon and Lauren at home and makes the connection that Beth was cheating on him with Landon. But then Landon also drops hints and David also confesses that he’s also cheated with Jess and that she’s pregnant. End of story

I liked that the part one which shows Beth and Landon’s fantasy marriage is just different events that occurred in the story that her brain meshed to form that wares dream. I didn’t really like Beth, she internalized most of the issues she had with David and doesn’t communicate with him or push back when he doesn’t want to communicate. Which leads her to cheat with Landon, she’s such a wimp. It’s as her mother said, she has placed all her happiness on David and since he’s not living up to it, she jumps to the first person that shows her a glimpse of it. The timeline of David’s affair is unclear so for now, I’m not that mad about it because I think Beth deserved it for cheating first

I want to make this as spoiler free as possible but with this story it is hard to keep to yourself. So, lets see what I can do.

In the first of the book we meet Elizabeth and she is talking about her current marriage to Landon. She is happy and life is going great. She has the best friend in the world, Jess, but somewhere something changes.

She goes out to a club, meets this one of a kind man, David. She is enjoying her self and drinking the night away. She is caught up with her attraction for him that she agrees to leave for a night with him but before she knows it, she wakes up confronted with the fact she was in a horrific car accident. But her life is not as she remembers it. She is now married to someone she only just met a few nights ago, David? She is confused but comforted by the fact that there are so many supporting evidences that she has been married to David for four years. But what happened to her previous life? What happened to the life she remembers with her previous husband, Landon?

The story begins to reveal flashes of memories that she had with her life with Landon but some how it is now happening in reverse with different people. Struggling to remember her life and with her memories of what she once knew, she is also now struggling for her love for David, and her current life she has. But to make things worse, Landon is back, but not as a husband but as a lover of the side. She had her husband, David, are both cheating with other people.

Lets just say this story has, love, cheating, pregnancies, and lots of betrayal. If you are uncomfortable with that form of books, then this book may not be for your.

Elizabeth is faced with a huge life challenge right at the beginning of the book – her marriage is over. With the help of her best friend Jess, her therapist, and some well portioned champagne, she begins to put the pieces of her life back together. That is, until … she doesn’t.
There’s so much about this story I cannot say without taking away some of the surprise of the plot. But let’s just say that once it seems that Elizabeth’s life is turning toward the better it all changes.

There were many things about this story I enjoyed:
• The plot twist! I loved how what seemed to be happening at the beginning was merely a reflection of what was truly happening
• The feelings and emotions. I completely understood how the characters were feeling. Did I always agree with them? Hardly. But I get it.
• The twists and turns. It seems once we thought we’d figured things out, it seemed we hadn’t. I love that I didn’t figure things out all at once.

The thing I had the most trouble getting on board with was the concept of cheating. This is just me. There are a lot of things I’ve read about in stories that are controversial or even unpleasant, but for some reason cheating is one thing that just makes me disconnect from the story. That being said, I think this story gave an honest representation of how it can get out of hand. Each of these characters made choices and their choices led to where they’re left at the end of the book – which is unresolved.

Overall an interesting read, and one that most would probably enjoy.

This book was confusing! The first section of the book outlines Elizabeth's failed marriage with Landon, who has recently left her to be with his best friend's wife. Yeah, he's a scumbag. Elizabeth finally gets out of her depressive funk to go out on a night on the town with her friend, Jess, and meets a nice guy named David. Before she can even give him her number, she falls and hits her head. When she wakes up in the hospital, her version of reality is much different than everyone else's. The book ends on a cliffhanger and damn it, I have to find out what happens! Even though I know I'll just be getting another mind-f - I gotta find out.

I saw this duet recommended in a group I am saying it was heartbreaking, a real tear-jerker and that was just what I was in the mood for. Well, no tears were shed from me. The story was all over the place, there were a lot of errors, the world and his wife were cheating (which is not a hard limit for me) but it all just got a bit ridiculous. There was no redemption for any of the characters and while the initial twist was really good, that was the highlight of the duet for me. It was a shame because if this was executed perfectly, it would have been a great story.

This book was exceptional! There was romance, friendship, betrayal, sexy and passionate love scenes, and it all left you on the edge of your seat till the end of the book! I hated characters with a passion, then I grew to love them over the course of the story. At times I wished I could be transplanted into the story!
This is an exceptional story and I can't wait to read more from Shannon Myers!

I really liked the way the author wove through the parts of the stories and connected the dots between the twists. You probably won't understand what I mean unless you read the book. David's character seemed a bit stiff for my liking. I actually preferred the way the story was right before the first twist - can someone write a book like this for me, please? On to the second part I go...

The description of this book leaves a lot to be imagined when starting this book, but what the author does is throw you for a huge loop when it comes to different twists that were added. I can’t even real review it with out saying what is what because it’s got a heck of a twist. I really enjoyed the twists that the author added because the main one was unique and added a layer to the story. I look forward to reading the second book I. This duet to find out what’s going to happen. One man is the other and the other a mystery..... yes, 100% yes for that statement. Which guy wins, who loses...... I can’t wait to find out. 4 stars #2OCCJD

I may have been harsh the first time around…LMAO. Raising it a star.

The main premise is a fucking awesome plot tool. Chapters of the h living a life then having a brain injury only to wake up in a completely different life. Amnesia with a brilliant twist. I think better finesse in the reader coming to terms with the first life just being disjointed bits of the heroine’s real life could have made this one of the most stellar romance plots I’ve ever read. As is…4 stars.

Twists and turns

I am still a little discombobulated by this story. Ms Myers wove a tail that leaves you second guessing what you read and what has happened. I found myself sneaking off to read just on more page. What you think is real might not be. I can't wait to start book two.

I’m giving this 4 stars because it was trippy and pretty riveting, like watching a train wreck. I had to keep turning pages to see how it was going to turn out. First of 2 books. I’m going to have to read the second to see how it all ends.

Whoa hang on tight y’all!

READ THE BOOK!!!! Hold onto your britches y’all because this book is going to take you on one heck of a ride. Oh you think you have it figured out? Wrong. Oh you think your heart is safe? Wrong. But it’s worth the ride. Just hang on tight because it’s gonna be a bumpy one! The only reason this one got 4 stars is because there was a little repetition and some parts were hard to follow but trust me, slow down, maybe reread a little and it’ll be worth it.
