As someone who doesn't normally read short stories, I found this collection (given to me by a friend) to have changed my mind about the genre. Each story was unique, and each author solved the problem of how to introduce setting, characters, and plot and come to a conclusion, or at least a type of ending (often somewhat open-ended), within 10-15 pages. I will be seeking out more short story writing in the future.
