She’s running for her life…straight into his arms.
Sabrina is a weather witch losing control of her one and only power. She’s never been much of a threat, magically speaking, but just recently, things have changed and almost everyone in the remote town where she lives, has turned against her. The local werewolf Alpha even called the Lords on her.
When Ace goes walkabout, he decides to call in on an old friend who works for the Lords. But Rocco gives him the bum’s rush, and the Lords task him with a mission he can’t turn down. He’s to go to Canada and help a weather witch who is causing trouble for one of the wolf Packs up in the mountains.
Ace finds Sabrina being stalked by more dangerous predators than the wolves. Evil is after her. They want to steal her power and use it for their own ends. But that can’t happen. Not while Ace is on the job. And, not while Sabrina is so intriguing to not just Ace’s human side, but his inner bear, as well.
They make a run for the border but keep encountering trouble. The Lords asked Ace to bring her back to them, but the way is blocked at all turns and they have to re-think. Grizzly Cove seems like the best solution…if they can just get there.
Showdowns on the road, magic flying in all directions, and a young witch who doesn’t know what’s happening to her suddenly blossoming powers. Ace and Sabrina will face it all, while their attraction grows into something a whole lot steamier. Will they make it to the relative safety of Grizzly Cove?
Bianca D'Arc is the USA Today bestselling author of over 100 romance titles. She has been published traditionally, by a few notable small presses, and indie. Before becoming a full-time writer, she ran a laboratory, a legal department, and jetted around the country on business while working for a Fortune 500 engineering firm.
What a fantastic story! I absolutely loved this branch off of the Grizzly Cove series. We got to see so many characters from the different storylines come together to bring us to the perfect HEA. The author kept true to form with a tasty alpha male, his strong sweet mate, and a rough dangerous path that captivated and enthralled me from the first page. I can’t wait to see what happens with the brothers and the rest of the defenders of the light!
Absolutely batshit. Wild world building all held together with the tenuous thread of very simplistic writing. Verges on found family which I like but not enough to keep reading.
Bianca D'Arc is one of the few authors in my AUTOBUY category. For almost 10 year, I have trusted her to provide a good story with great world building, memorable and relatable characters, several series with overlapping perspectives and cross referencing and all without having to read a cover blurb.
Storm Bear is number 13 in the Grizzly Cove series, but that in and of itself is part of larger, greater, far reaching story arc across several of her series. It's very much like the Marvel cinematic universe--each movie stands alone on it's own merit, yet each individual character franchise stands alone but is part of a greater whole.
Weather witch Sabrina is about as low as you can go on the magical totem pole; she's had no mentor and been reduced to figuring out her evolving powers out on her own. When the wolf alpha of her Canadian town loses patience with sudden freak snowstorms and small tornadoes as Sabrina's power escalate beyond her control, he calls the Lords for help dealing with her errant powers.
Since bears are the most magical among shifters, grizzly shifter Ace is sent by the Lords to help Sabrina with her powers or get her to those who can. They have just met when blood magic members of the Venifucus, dark and evil mages bent on world domination, strike out at them. They will stop at nothing to get Sabrina's power for themselves and use it against Servants of the Light.
The chase is on as Ace and Sabrina try to outrun the evil forces that are after them.
I really enjoyed getting to know Ace and Sabrina in this new book in the Grizzly Cove series. They really meshed very well together from the beginning. Sabrina is thought to be a low level weather witch when her powers start to go wonky. Ace is called in to help possibly get control of these powers by the Lords of the Were after a call from the Alpha of a wolf pack in the town Sabrina is residing. Sabrina's wonky powers have seemed to attracted some baddies, so it is thought to get her to the Lords for some training and protection. What follows are a series of events which then land them in Grizzly Cove and Sabrina and Ace are welcomed, but some are still a wee bit wary, even S and A themselves as it feels like home to them. I don't want to say anymore so others may enjoy the book themselves. It really is a great read! This seems to be kind of an extension on the Grizzly Cove series and will seem to be three more books involving Ace and his brothers, King and Jack. King's book is next and involves also Marilee, Sabrina's best friend from this book. I can't wait to read more!
Sabrina knew her magic was on the fritz. She couldn't control even the simplest gusty of air!
Ace knew his wondering times were numbered. Riding away from his two brothers, he needed an answer. Driving to Montana and speaking with an old friend could help. It turned out the Lords needed him on a mission. There was a weather witch in Canada that needed help. Ace drove his Harley up into Montana and decided to pay a visit to an old friend. Rocco Garibaldi was a well-known associate of the current Lords of all werefolk in North America. Rocco was in a hurry but greeted him and told him to talk with the Lords. Sabrina had grown up without any real knowledge of magic, so she’d never had any truly formal training. In college, her weather sense had awakened and she’d had to figure things out for herself, but it hadn’t been strong, and it had only been the one gift. She wasn’t a mage by any stretch of the imagination. Now evil was lurking around the corner and apparently was after Sabrina. Ace wasn't sure why, but protecting her was his goal!
Really loving these Grizzly Cove, Crossroads books
Crossroads is a little sub series of the Grizzly Cove series. The first one being Bounty Hunter Bear then this one, Storm Bear is the second. The three grizzly bear brothers, Ace, King and Jack all separated at the end of Bounty Hunter to spend a little time travelling alone and perhaps find their mates. Ace, the oldest of the 3 decides to go off to Wyoming to visit his friend Rocky. While there he gets asked to lend a magical helping hand to a weather witch whose power has gone awry in the Canadian Rockies. It doesn’t take long to realise the evil Venificus mages are after her power. They have quite a chase on their hands to make it to Grizzly Cove where they make a stand against the Venificus agents. This series just continues to entertain.
I have always loved Bianca D'Arc's work and this book is no different. Bianca writes in such a way it sucks you into the story and it's like you're in the story. I may change my mind about Tobias (the werewolf alpha in this story) but right now I think he's an *** and I want to beat some sense into him.
Ace and Sabrina have a bond from first eye lock and it gains strength from the first touch of hand (a handshake I believe). Ace is an awesome hero, though somewhat slow on the uptake about somethings. Sabrina is someone who's been beaten down but still sweet and giving. I will definitely keep rereading this book, it's so jam packed with action and great stuff that you couldn't get all in one go, even if you had an eidetic memory you'd still have to go over it again. Not that you'd mind, it's a fabulous story from a fantastic writer *grin*
I absolutely love how all of this authors stories follow the overarching storyline. Storm bear was intense and unexpected in many places, even if some spots felt slow. I felt like the story was about to end, but was only 2/3 done, unsure how the author could keep it going. The BAM something happens to completely throw me off the track. The advancement of the main storyline kept me captivated and wanting more, while still leaving me with the feeling of a finished story.
Enjoyed the story but it was just too....nice. It was like everyone put Sabrina in a glass box and were afraid to tap on it Ace didn't want to allow her to feel threatened, upset, uncomfortable, etc., etc., etc... Maybe it was because all Ace and Sabrina's thoughts about each other were internal. They're never really outwardly spoken except at the end. So the attraction is lukewarm for me.
I'm also wondering if D'Arc is ever going to end this series and either have Elspeth or the Leviathan do something other than have minions and/or churn in the waters off the Cove.
I knew as soon as I started this book that it is 5 stars and is action packed. Ace is asked to help Sabrina, a weather witch, to get to Grizzly Cove. Sabrina has difficulty controlling her powers and the evil mages are after her. They have quite the adventure getting to Grizzly Cove and even more adventure when they arrive. Ace and his bear soon know that Sabrina is his true and fated mate. Sabrina quickly falls for Ace who is protective and loving to her. They have a special mating party and make Grizzly Cove their new home. Next up is Ace's brother King's story!
Ace is recruited too help a weather witch Sabrina who is losing control of her magic because she is getting stronger. The Alpha of Sabrina’s town only likes helping wolves no other type of shifter. Will Ace be able to help her get control of her magic or will Sabrina’s magic go off course this is a must read book
Wow! Great book and addition to the series. Sabrina is a kick in the pants against evil and just down right nice while Ace is a perfect protecting bear. Looking forward to King's and Jack's stories.
After a rough start in life Sabrina experiences what it's like to be loved and surrounded by bears. She couldn't be happier! It's a story of growing into your own.
I loved this read! It included just enough humor, intrigue, action, etc to keep me riveted from beginning to end! It was also great to catch up with the other residents of Grizzly Cove and meet some new ones in preparation for future reads.
Loved Ace and Sabrina's story. She thought she didn't fit in anywhere and Ace was sent to help her get her gift under control and together they both find what they were looking for, love and a home where they are welcomed. Can't wait for King's story.
This book like all your others is magnificent!! I just love how you made Sabrinas' character. She started off unsure of herself but turned in to a force to be reckoned with. I can hardly wait for the next book.
I enjoy this author’s books immensely! The characters are entertaining and interesting. The storyline is full of challenges and adventure as well as exciting romance/sexy times. This particular series has me hooked and anxiously waiting for the next book to be available.
Bears are just awesome , I want one for my own , alas. I think a more descriptive title would have been Storm's Bear or Bear's storm 😃 I loved the story and fell in love with the characters
I have read the entire series and all of the related Books in this world. This one about a misfit witch and a big bear was wonderful. I would love to make a trip to Grizzly Cove and meet up with the whole group.
