It was nice to see the Daughters of the Dragon return. There's some good banter. It all felt a bit disjointed though. The art was hit and miss as Travel Foreman tends to be. Joey Vasquez was not a good match for the middle two issues.

Yikes... I felt like giving this a more generous rating because the art isn't terrible like the last Daughters of the Dragon series but the dialogue just reminds me of the fact that Marvel still won't give female writers a chance to write these two. Not only does it read like it was clearly written by an older man, the Bechdel test comment when Misty and Colleen are talking about dating just made me wonder who the intended audience is? I can't imagine it was women.

Misty and Colleen are classic Marvel characters and they deserve a series that reflects that.

Exactly the mix of kung-fu craziness, Blaxploitation sass and spy-fi one wants from a Colleen Wing/Misty Knight team-up, with just enough raised eyebrow to stop it feeling like an entirely retro exercise, and a delightful grasp of the pair's chemistry. Initially the number of artists credited gave me pause - it looked more like a rush job than a plan - but they do all bring different things to an openly episodic story, even if my favourite is still Travel Foreman's very Kyle Baker work on the first two chapters.

This surprised me. I don't know why, but I was inherently leery at the fact this was originally an online exclusive. Whatever the reason, I had low expectations.

Thankfully those proved unfounded. This was a lot of fun. The characters were well written, the humor was enjoyable, and something about the artwork really brought the characters to life. I also appreciated the format. Nothing like a good anthology with a good framing device to tie everything together.

This is one of those books that you read with no expectations and you're blown away. The book is far from perfect and won't have any long reaching implications but it was a fun read. I'd love to read more Colleen and Misty by Jed Mackay, an author who's new to me. The plot is silly and the villains goofy but the dialogue matched and it was a treat. The art, by multiple artists, fit nicely. Overall, a pleasant surprise.

aaron lopresti is bald, evil, and can’t draw faces, but that is countered by jed’s sapphic undertones

I really enjoyed this. It's solid story telling, two heroes who work well together, some interesting stories and other guest stars that worked really well in this volume.

Are these characters trying to sound cool? Why am I getting a 60's vibe out of this? You dig? It's truly dope for all the cats out there, but if you're a square, beware! Holy Christ... If I remember correctly, this is the same kind of 'spycraft' as that in Danger Girl. As in bad, but it's light-hearted, even funny at times, and has over-the-top fight scenes.

Coleen Wing is investigating a string of missing hitchhikers. Coleen is joined by her best friend, Misty Knight the FBI agent with a mechanical arm. Together they face Robert Life's organization.

The skilled assassin Rutherford Winner is tasked with capturing Coleen and Misty for Hydra in exchange for an orbital weapon. Nick Fury joins them against this powerful and touched-in-the-head foe.

Coleen and Misty are on vacation, but all is not as it seems when they relive the same day and dialogue on a loop.

This was an okayish read and like has Misty and Colleen on fun one off story adventures like the first one is vs some old guy and is kinda like a samurai movie inspired one where they fight an old insane guy and who has his own suit and it got weird in the end but it has a nice story of them rescuing kids and the 2 kids they save become their apprentice of sorts haha!

Then there is one vs Rutherford winner and Fury hires them to solve the problem and how he is going after Colleen and there's some great twists and turns and then you see the secret with SHIELD and who he really is and what was done to him and this was a nice story from that sense and I really liked it!

The last one is kinda like memories removed with its own thing of whats going on and like they are trapped in some simulation and whose the villain behind it and their motivations and its explained well in the story and you get to see some cool action but it was the ending where you see the friendship between the two which was amazing and probably my favorite part of the volume.. so yeah its a fun volume with cool stories and kickass action exploring these two and their friendship with okayish art, and makes for a good one time read!

I love a little Martial Arts/Blaxploitation movies and Jed Mackay is quite adept at delving into the material. Colleen Wing and Misty Knight are treated really well here, and it's as though they're finally getting the centre stage that they deserve.

I am a huge fan of Travel Foreman's art, and it's a shame he didn't do the middle two issues (otherwise I'd rate this series even higher). But what we get of Foreman's art and figures is just beautiful. It makes the story of Wing and Knight so compelling to behold.

I read this because, as I write this in 2022, Misty Knight and Colleen Wing are playing a role in the Ben Reilly story being told in "Amazing Spider-Man." Jed Mackay is working on the Beyond Era of "Amazing," and he wrote the stories in this collection. Unfortunately, I found myself wanting to skim most of this.

This was originally released as an online exclusive, so this collection was the first the first time the story was released in print.

I want there to be a great Daughters of the Dragon story but this collection isn't as effective as the mini series from the middle of last decade or some of the older stand alone and Iron Fist stories. Part of what holds it back is a lack of context the book drops us in with but part of it does come down to writing.

I had a lot of fun with this collection! I liked that each story had its own thing going on but still kept a few tidbits flowing throughout (like Misty’s relationship with Falcon and having their hitchhiker children making an appearance). I absolutely adore Misty and Colleen’s friendship and they’re such a great example to share with younger readers.

This was fun! Mackay is a pretty good writer and his current work on Marvel is very good, so I'm glad to see that he has been good for quite a while. The art and colors work great and overall, this is a nice buddy cop arc between two characters who deserve to be more on the spotlight.

I wasn't familiar with Colleen Wing or the Daughters of the Dragon until I made my way through the Netflix Marvel shows and had friends tell me they were a thing. This was a nice introduction to their relationship in the comics universe, though.

I will forever love this duo and I treasure every series when they are in the spotlight. They have such a fun dynamic and I wish there were more series just dedicated to their adventures. This was a lot of fun and I absolutely enjoyed it. I hope for more of this epic duo in the future.

I love these characters, and this graphic novel was SUPER FUN. MacKay "gets" these bad-ass warriors, who in this case happen to be women. See what I did there?

I give this book my highest rating.

Enjoyable in places. The art changes from great to okay and the last story on the boat killed any momentum this had to get to 4 stars.

Previously only available digitally, this volume collects the three issues of the Daughters of the Dragon written by Jed Mackay, who is definitely one of my favourite Marvel writers at the moment. I have also always liked Misty Knight and Colleen Wing very much, and though both have changed a lot over their decades of publication, I still do.
The events here feel like unconnected stories, but are actually overseen by a single mastermind bent on revenge for the events of a story from very, very long ago. (And said story also shows how much the characters, as mentioned above, have changed since then. Not much wise-cracking from Colleen back then!)
Travel Foreman, who handles the art on two of the three issues here, does a very good job.
This is an pretty entertaining romp with much-appreciated ties to established continuity. I liked it!
