A freak accident causes Buckeye Lake to be drained. A girl’s body is found in the mud. A mysterious mountain hermit is a suspect, but no one has ever seen him. Breeze is called upon to track a man that he’s not even sure exists. He teams up with an attractive female police officer, who wants more than just a professional relationship. Pressure mounts as the case progresses, in more ways than one.
"I have read all of the “Boat Bum" books and was not sure I would like the "Mountain Man" books. But I was wrong, I flew through them like I used to do with James Patterson's books. Loved all the characters and the twists and turns. Felt I was reading something with meat in it. Breeze is a likable charactor and I was glad the author could change the characters' living arrangement so drasticly and not lose Breeze in the process. I hope he has many more stories to tell.
Again a Breeze adventure which, literally, I couldn't put down. I've read all of his books and enjoyed every one. Can't wait for the next installment. Keep up the great work Ed.
Great book as usual. Hope you let Breeze and Brody open their own investigation firm as was hinted. I am a retired commercial pilot ( Corporate pilot) and was a test pilot out of Van Nuys, California. I would love to be a character in one of your books if you can find me a spot. Thanks Buddy White currently living in Santa Rosa Beach, Florida
As usual you can't stop reading until you finish. Every page is suspenseful. It keeps you guessing the outcome and it is usually wrong.
I have read every one of Ed Robinson’s novels. For some reason I delayed a few days after buying this one. I knew deep down, I would get sucked in and not put the book down. I was right and stayed up late at night an awakened the next morning to continue without disappointment. Ed draws you in with his uncanny ability to make you personally connect with the characters. What a wonderful escape from the real world.
Great story Breeze is a great mountain man who was a boat bum. Anyhoo will there be a Creekside Investigations? They will be very good with it with all of their talents When is Breeze gonna see his family again. Grandchildren need a great grandpa. Thanks for writing a great, enjoyable reading series.
Another great addition to the Mountain Breeze series! I enjoyed it, as I do all of Ed's books. I must say though that I do have a special place for this one, as Ed so kindly featured my name as a character in his story. Thank you again and keep up the great writing!
Ed Robinson takes Breeze and Brody on an exciting trip once again.
Breeze and Brody has new helper now. What a wonderful addition to this mountain tales. Anyone who has read all of the books on adventures of Breeze will once more hate to stop reading for any reason till finished.
Loved the book, but there was a major flaw in the plot
I really enjoyed the book as I always do (one of my favorite authors). However, there is a flaw in the plot. The murder victim did not die from the blow to the head, but from drowning. The person who dumped the body was not arrested for murder, but for covering up the crime. If the cause of death was drowning, the person who dumped the body in the lake would have actually been the murderer, not the person who caused the blow to the head.
If you know Beech Mountain you will enjoy this read!
I spend half the year on Beech Mountain and in all of the areas which are part of the background and story line in the book. Very accurate and current in depicting these places in the book. Overall an enjoyable “who done it”. I know the Chief of the Beech Mountain police department and I bet he got a kick out of being a character in this story albeit a work of fiction.
Well, I'm past the half way point and still deeply engrossed in Breeze life. Red was a great addition. The temptation of Muss Will had its purpose, but was uncomfortable to a point, but I had faith in our boy M. E. Breeze. And he passed the test. I was pretty sure that Zack was holed up in a house with an empty garage for the Outback. A house that was on Officer Sally's list up deleted by the chief. Good story. I'm a fan. Billyrob Robinson
As in all books in this series, as well as the 'Trawler Trash' series, the reading is easy and pleasurable. The plots are believable the descriptions of sexual encounters are adequate without being pornographic. Could use a little more spice however.
I still miss the ocean as a background to the adventures of Breeze and the sexy women who crossed his path. However the quality of writing makes me forgive moving from the ocean to the mountains.
Onward and upward though the fog rode the man, seeking justice and fairness. Breeze astounds me with every book. From one end to the other the adventure continues.
