Trouble is brewing between competing schools of economic thinking. The establishment Keynesians fear disruption of their kingdom by the upstart New Market Economists led by Associate Professor Peter Barrie from of all things a community college in central California. The powerful Keynesians call on their alliances with the media to humiliate and embarrass Peter and his boys. Their efforts fail to tarnish the shine of the new guiding light. The Keynesians increase the pressure. Their efforts have the desired effect. Peter's light is blocked. Dissatisfied with a partial victory, the Keynesians move to force Peter completely out of the limelight. Peter rallies, but victory is far from certain.
