Boss Of My Panties

Rate this book
Piper: He's the boss of my panties. Literally. As in he's the fiercely protective big brother and utterly supportive CEO of his sister's clothing company--the one I design lingerie for. Yep, he's as dreamy as he sounds. So dreamy, in fact, that I can't seem to string two coherent sentences together around the man. Until, that is, the day I open my mouth at one of our design staff meetings for the first time ever. And now here I am, working directly with Cole, the one man I can't stop thinking about while designing lacy bits for women whose sex lives are undoubtedly more interesting than my nonexistent one...

Cole: She designs some of the sexiest lingerie I've ever laid eyes on. The quietly classy kind. The kind I can imagine her wearing. Even though I shouldn't. She's my little sister's employee, for chrissakes; I can't touch her. So instead, I just show up at these design staff meetings every month. My sister thinks I'm just keeping an eye on the company's bottom line. I'm not. I've only got eyes for one bottom these days--Piper's. And now that I've discovered the shyest lingerie designer on the planet is capable of exchanging more than a few words with me each month, it'll be a miracle if I can stop thinking about her at all...

WARNING: This HOT, feel-good quickie has lots of fun times and an OTT sexy adorable HEA complete with two epilogues (because seriously, these two are just so freaking cute). So, if you like protective, possessive alpha heroes who move mountains for their heroines, and try to take things slow...at first, before getting super dirty and even more crazy romantic, then this sweet & steamy fast read is for you!

Tessa Wood was lucky enough to fall in love with her best friend who still gives her multiple laugh-gasms a day. Mr. Wood (yes, he very much enjoys referring to himself in the third person) is her own unique Prince Charming who continues to inspire the sexy stories she writes in the wee hours of the night, long after her family is asleep. These late-night stories are largely made possible by the secret stashes of dark chocolate she hides around the house...and often forgets the location of until Mr. Wood finds them, eats them, and leaves a hilarious post-it calling card so she knows he's pulled off another of his chocolate capers. Given that she and Mr. Wood somehow ended up together against all odds (as in literal evil wagers they enjoy guilting their friends about), Tessa's big goal as an author is to play matchmaker for all the heroes and heroines living...

‘He’s the boss of my panties. Literally.’

Piper is a shy wallflower who designs lingerie and is damn good at it. Cole is CEO of the company and takes great joy in getting Piper to engage while secretly envisioning what undies she’s wearing!

Piper is forced to address her attraction to Cole when they begin a design project together. What I didn’t expect, was Cole demonstrating the product for her....
And here commences a slow romantic courtship that eventually turns into a romp fest.

This is was a quick enjoyable read. It started off strong but by the end it became to alpha caveman for my liking.

This is a good debut book. Sweet, steamy and well written. No virgins here. Both hero and heroine are experienced but no cheating and no OM or OW drama. Cute epilogue with 4 kids. I recommend.

The quietly classy kind. The kind I can imagine her wearing. Even though I shouldn’t. She’s my little sister’s employee, for chrissakes; I can’t touch her.

So instead, I just show up at these design staff meetings every month, which drives my sister crazy, I know. She thinks I’m micromanaging her company, keeping an eye on the bottom line and all that.

I’m not.

Seems I can only keep my eyes on one bottom these days.

This book was recommend in one of my "safe" facebook groups and I am so happy it was. Looks like this is a new author and WOW, what a great story. I can't wait to read more from Tessa Wood.
-no cheating
-neither virgins
-dual POV
-H gone for h, especially the last half of book
-alpha, possessive H
-insta-love
-no specifics on past sex history for either
-some OW drama, no OM drama
-great secondary characters
-loved how H raised his sister & how close they were
Y'all know how I love my "safe" books with no manwhores & this was right up my alley. I definitely recommend reading.

I’m putting this author on my watch list. It’s always so exciting to find a new author that really has it together - great storyline, great writing style, no editing problems, easy to read and enjoy.
Loved this sweet couple. He’s an alpha male but like Captain America sweetness. The girl is sweet and shy but not a pushover. What a great combo. Neither one of these to are virgins but we don’t have any of their pasts thrown in our faces. The other woman drama isn’t someone he’s been with, just someone that we like to hate and adds a little bit of drama to the story to make it even more interesting.
Wonderful job Tessa Wood! Keep it up! Can’t wait to see what you come up with next <3

At least once a month, I like to read a debut novel from an unknown author and I’m glad I took the chance to read “Boss of My Panties” by Tessa Wood. It is on Kindle Unlimited and only 99 cents to purchase! The story intrigued me as it was about Chloe, a woman who owned a lingerie company, and her brother, Cole, who served as the CEO, thus the title of the book.

To my great surprise, Cole was not a player! He was classy, smart, handsome, creative, and he only had eyes for Piper, one of the company’s fashion designers. I loved Piper! She too was smart, talented, clever, kind but not a pushover, and had been crushing on Cole for most of her career. Cole was so swoon-worthy! He was loving and genuine, protective but not controlling, and encouraged her to spread her wings and shine. He also was involved with philanthropy, giving back to the community, which is another hero-worthy plus in my book.

I liked how he was close to his sister and very supportive, and how he put Piper’s happiness first knowing how important her family was to her.

These two had a slow burn, but once they were together it was hot! They were challenged to work together as a team to promote a new product line, and really got to know each other, not only at work but also in their personal lives. It was refreshing to read a book that actually wasn’t filled with angst, stressing me out. Cole is a keeper for sure and he hit the jackpot with Piper, a woman I really admired and would want to be friends with in real life.

The author obviously has business sense because that is what I do for a living, and she comes up with very clever, realistic ideas in this book to promote and market the company’s new lingerie line during the Valentine season and beyond. I found this very interesting and liked to read the behind the scenes discussions.

I am also really grateful that the author took the time to write an epilogue PLUS an extended epilogue five years into the future (included in the same book), because I always like to know where my couples end up! I was very pleased with the ending and am looking forward to reading more from Tessa Wood.

An added note: At the end of the book, Tessa writes that she is shy in real life and not on any social media so I can’t tag her in my review. It’s hard for me to believe she is shy because her sexy times in the book are very detailed and steamy!

Panties Dropping Good. Cole is the CEO of his sister Courtney’s company, when he meets one of her designers named Piper.
Piper is very shy but at the same time she is the best designer they have. Not one to normally speak out in meetings, one day she has a brilliant idea for a new launch for the company. Before she can present her idea she has to endure the evil less productive co-worker Rachel. Piper has decided to put her shyness to the side and stand up for her ideas. Once she presents her idea and knows that she has full approval from Cole, there is no stopping her and her continued ideas.
Courtney can see how great Piper is with her creative ideas as well as how her brother is truly smitten with her. Cole makes it a point to be paired off with Piper for a project, when he realizes she is just as smitten with him, it is game on. He expresses his feelings for her and she does the same. It is truly a match made in heaven.
I love the way the author showed the passion in a traditional way of dating and showing each other love and not just a hot and steamy next love affair. If you want to read a true romance this is a great book.

No Laces On The Corsets! 😁😜

This was my first book by Tessa and I am glad it was suggested by a friend, it was a great story.

I really enjoyed the lingerie / fashion industry backdrop of the story and that it was very lightly an office romance.

Piper and Cole had crushed on each other for years and then their romance took the slow burn route and I think I liked the book more for that, it wasn't all about the between the sheets moments, they worked together and connected for weeks before moving this along.

Piper was quiet and shy, which was adorable BUT it was her backbone and unwillingness to be defeated by an office bully that really showed her true character, loved it!

3.5 Stars for this story. Piper and Cole were a great couple and I actually enjoyed the build up. Cole knew what he wanted and he was patient. Piper was shy but she let him know she was interested. Her family was fun and entertaining. The heat level was 🔥🔥🔥 on this. I would definitely recommend to anyone who likes contemporary romance.

Sexy and hot novella! Business and pleasure do not usually mix well, but the sparks that fly between designer Piper and CEO Cole are way too powerful to ignore. Can they pull off a major design event without their attraction getting in the way? A very enjoyable novella from Tessa Wood.

Fabulous!!

This book was amazing and so beautiful. I loved it. I couldnt put it down. I just wanted to keep reading it. When the book ended i was sad as i didnt want to leave the world of Cole and Piper.
Their relationship was fabous and so beautiful.
Cole was amazing. His thoughts and feelings were explored fully and i think majority of the story was through his perspective which i loved and adored.
He was the ideal boyfriend and understood Piper so well. I wish there was more books with Cole and Piper as the central characters. It was so funny at times and endearing.
The sex scenes were mindblowingly hot. I loved the way the sex scenes were written and i read each and every word when usually i would skim over the sex scenes in many books.
The book centres on Cole and Piper. He is the silent CEO of his little sisters lingerie company. Piper is one of the designers. Cole attends each and every meeting at the company for a very secret reason. His attention is all for Piper who is a silent participant in the meetings.
Piper’s family is hilarious and i would have loved more scenes with them in the book.
Cole’s interaction with her family is really good and funny.
The book was written beautifully with dual point of view. It flowed really well. The language that was used was appropriate and very descriptive.
I would have loved a longer book or maybe more books with Cole and Piper as central characters.
Fab and amazing debut novel by this amazing author.
Keep it up and cant wait for your next book.
More Cole and Piper Please!!!!

Good for a debut book

I thought this was pretty good for a debut book. It did seem a little like two different styles merged together. The whole first part of the book the main characters dance around each other, building a relationship slowly. Then suddenly they go from their first time holding hands to their first kiss to getting naked in a car to having non stop sex. It was like going on an afternoon drive and ending up on a drag strip, from sweet to sexy the span of a chapter. It seemed as though the author just suddenly decided to wrap things up and book, they get their HEA. Needed just a little more plot development to get from point A to point B.

Fun quick read, more of a novella than full book. The characters are fun to root for, and the mix of super sweet and super steamy works. Yeah, the sex scenes are written as if she's a living embodiment of the song "Jizz in My Pants", and he's borderline priapic. But all in all it's a sweet HEA story worth the hour or two it takes to read.

He’s been watching her...

...his sisters’ shyest employee. Her work ethic is second to none, but she doesn’t say anything and he’s been attending these meetings for so long. Waiting to see if she speaks. Until then, he’ll just watch. Intently.

She feels the heat of his stare, and it makes her shrink to the back of the room even more. But this time, she is passionate about her idea, and she has to put it out there.

Tessa Wood described her story about Cole and Piper as a hot feel good quickie with an over the top possessive alpha male, and he is definitely that and more. He’s also marshmallow when it comes to stalking the woman he wants. This book is sweet and steamy, almost like some gorgeous velvety dark chocolate with that chilli flake you’ve just bitten down on – surprise heat and spice!

If you’re looking for something sweet and steamy between your heavy reading, then I have just the recommendation for you. Boss of My Panties is right up there. This is a reasonably quick read, but it is positive, has its element of troublemaking but holy hell, if you mess with the Cirillo family, you’re going down! This crowd is also hilarious as all hell.

If there was anything I would complain about, it is the ending. As wonderful as it was, I would’ve liked more. There was so much of the plot working towards a huge goal, and it was a little quiet instead. A perfect ending yes, I just would’ve liked, well...more. And this is the only reason I would give the 4 Star rating that I have, although I do have to admit, that it is designed to be a quick read.

Congratulations Tessa Wood, on your debut book. I loved it, and am checking to see if you have released the next book in the series. I hope you have, because I want it!!!!

Sexy, endearing short read

The Mature, Responsible Me likes reading adult books - psychology, memoirs, dramatic fiction. Fun Me likes reading litRPG and humor. Smutty Me, on the other hand... This leads to some interesting internal debates, like about this book.

Fun: Boss Of My Panties? That's ridiculous. Order it now!

Smutty: Ok, but the cover model seems overdressed... There's a shirt, and I can't see the lines on his hips pointing directly down to...

Responsible: Ahem! This sort of frivolous nonsense again?

Fun & Smutty: You're outvoted. We both like this one.

And we did. I mean, I did. It's a lovely blend of the workplace (I want to know where to buy some of the lingerie designs!), family, romance, and (finally, after a lot of imagining) sex. Some parts are a bit over the top, but they work within the tale being told.

A few minor editing lapses, but overall sound. An example of the writing:

"It’s no big mystery that I’ve always loved his voice. It’s deep and rumbly with just a hint of a rough edge. Really, it’s more no-nonsense voice than sexy. But it’s so smoky and…smart. I think that’s the added intrigue for me. He always sounds like he’s thinking—about what, you’ll never know.
But a girl can imagine…"

Really cute short story

I really liked the fact that this story is about more than just a physical attraction for Cole. Sure...there was an initial physical attraction but, he was interested in Piper because he found her shyness both refreshing and intriguing in a world full of bold, brash, often full of themselves designers. He loved how genuinely kind and caring she was and, as she learned more about him while they partnered up on a work project together, she grew to know and love the same deep kindness and compassion that he had! I loved reading about these two and how their relationship progressed and I really appreciated the TWO epilogues...even if the second one DID have me immediately checking on Amazon to see if I could easily find out if Cole's sister has her OWN book!!! LOL! I couldn't find anything to quickly/easily suggest that it was her story and I needed to get busy wrapping Christmas presents (as I read this on Christmas Eve), was obviously busy with family stuff yesterday, and I just finished doctors appointments now so I'm only just getting the chance to get back to it now. Even if she doesn't have her own story, though, I have zero doubt that I'll excitedly read more from this author!

Boss of my panties is Tessa Wood’s debut book. I found the writing style easy to follow, the characters likeable and the storyline enjoyable. This story is short, fast paced and an entertaining read. I read this book in one sitting and was satisfied throughout.
The chemistry between Piper and Cole is clear to see and I really liked them as a couple. I liked that they didn’t get together straight away. It was a slow and steady progression. When they did become a couple, they were perfect for one another. I liked that although she was shy, Piper spoke up about her ideas. She didn’t let Rachel scare her away or bully her. – Talking of Rachel, I hated her. I was happy that she finally got what she deserved but I would have liked that scene to be in the story. I liked that although Piper’s family were nuts, their love for her was clear to see. When she needed them, they dropped everything for her. I also liked that Cole wasn’t scared off by their craziness. Overall, I really enjoyed this book, I hope for Courtney’s story soon!
The storyline for this book is easy to follow and an enjoyable read. I cannot wait for more from Tessa Wood.

So I acquired this for free at Amazon and read it in one sitting. Despite the title it is a very cute office romance book!

Cole is the (silent) CEO of his younger sister's lingerie empire and the only reason he has been attending meetings is Piper. She is a very talented designer but very very shy. She never speaks up at one of those meetings, until one day when she does have a great idea and Cole jumps on it to get to know her more. (still wonder why he waited 2 years...).

I actually really enjoyed this story. Cole is 40 and looking for his right match. He is not going 'to settle for anything less than f.. forever. When I get married it's going to be for the long haul to the love of my life, the amazing-ass mother to my future kids.' The only thing a really missed was a bit of build-up of the relationship. The book is of course rather short. But it seemed they skipped over the first part (the first kiss, the admittance of feelings) and were suddenly in a relationship. I wished for more on that! But overall quite romantic and hot.

Piper and Cole are well suited and I loved the double epilogues.

This is the authors debut novella which was a quick and decent read. Normally I’d give this a 3 but gave it for stars because despite its glaring flaws it was decent enough to get me to finish the book.

I wanted to give it three stars because:

- it was insta love (that crap doesn’t happen) and their “relationship” was too quick of a start and attraction wasn’t really based on anything concrete until the very last 25% of the book but somehow the male lead wanted to marry her and have children with her from the beginning.

- the book was interesting (fashion world) but the whole story especially character interactions and relationships were shallow. There was not depth. Everything could have used more detail

- personalities of characters would change briefly. Wasn’t consistent there times

- male lead was too alpha/possessive/caveman How is this attractive/sexy

Overall the story was decent but lacked depth. I suppose it did because it was a novella and the author had to rush things but if she put more detail into it, the novella could have been a novel.

This was a fun quick read were Valentine’s Day played a small role. Meet Cole and Piper, they know each other from work and have been lusting after each other for quite some time only neither one of them as acted on it. It’s a sweet story with a hint of steam. Cole doesn’t demonstrate the typical rich CEO behavior, and while Piper is shy, she’s actually a kick-ass heroine. After admitting their attraction to each other early in the story, they keep it professional. It was a breath of fresh air compared to other work place romances. While their relationship is super slow moving, I didn’t get frustrated with the slow burn due to the sweetness of the story. Once they get to the sexy times, it’s hot and steamy, but a little too over the top at certain parts. The story could use a lot more character development in the couple getting to know each other. For a debut book from a new author, this was a good step in the write direction. I’m curious to see what she does next.
