Repetitive, and plenty of syntax and grammar mistakes. I was kind of hopeful about this book based on other reviews, but dear god this actually irritated me more than anything. Why publish a book for overly analytical people with so many mistakes and so much repetition? It’s very basic CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy) and mindfulness info, yet with condescension and “walk-it-off” advice sporadically interspersed, and a huge focus on how to be a ‘better’ worker-bee for your employer.

Besides this book however, CBT and mindfulness are absolutely amazing and I 100% believe that a lot of us, not just over-thinkers, can greatly benefit from learning those techniques. I’d just recommend finding different publications on those topics instead of buying this one. If you are able to pick this book up at no cost, I’d still suggest not to use this as your primary or go-to book.

Just as a forewarning though, and to touch back on one of my own biggest factors in giving this the single-star rating, if you’re as analytical as I am (which I assume several readers would be), the agony of not being able to correct the grammar and syntax mistakes will likely be enough to drive you nuts.

Common sense is not so common

Sometimes, we need to read the words for ourselves in order to understand. It’s good to have some pointers for easy ways to get out of our own way! I was already aware of some of the strategies, but now, I’m a little better armed. It also gave me a better insight into why I didn’t enjoy working so much.

As a recovering overthinker and over analyzer, I found this book super helpful. It explains why some people overthink more than others and what can be done about it through different exercises. A good recourse to have to go back and read to stay motivated on the journey to a healthier non-overthinking mind.

Too basic

This is too basic to help individuals. The book is good as summarizing symptoms and listing general approaches. This is not a book to use if you seriously need to stop overthinking.

Great book with great insight!

Book was great! Actually lessened some of my anxiety and made me feel like I should be more confident about decision making and taking moments to step out of my own mind. Thank you :)

Great help

Very helpful for those suffering from this problem. It’s a reminder for those who already know much if this, and it helps folks to implement some of the problem solving plans that they may not have before.

DNF. This book is poorly written. So many grammatical and syntax errors I couldn’t get past to get to the meat of the book.
