Bren's Blessing (The Quasar Lineage #1)

I never thought I'd end up being abducted by aliens!

I was living my dream, rotating in space around Mars on the Mars Hope Skylab. As the first American woman this far into space, I’ve accomplished more in my twenty-eight years of life than most. I enjoy my job, so when things go sideways and aliens board my lab. I try to stay positive and make sure that I just observe and stay alive. But I’m immediately grabbed and taken to their ship. Unable to understand them and not knowing what they have planned for me, I have to make some hard choices about whether living is the best way to go. And how far will I go to live? It appears that I’m now the property of the alien that grabbed me...

He’s big, possessive and seems to want to get to know me a lot better…

Matthias's Miracle (The Quasar Lineage #2)

Eight young women are abducted by aliens from college, I'm one of them!

I wake from my abduction while being separated from my friends. Sore and groggy, I'm tied to a bed, before I realise what's going on. As the circumstances start to sink in, I fight until I hear a roar of rage!

At first, my rescuer scares me as much as my captors. But, when I realise he's helping, he becomes my new best friend...

Deep Greens And Blues Are The Colors💘 I Choose.

Adults Only -Alpha Male Sci-fi Romance💞 and Erotica.

The Adult scenes are so numerous throughout the first book, I would put it more in the category of erotica, more than Adult Romance.

Book 1, Bren's Blessing
Hannah💃💋, The human doctor and astronaut woman taken from The Mars spacestation, is immediately claimed as the fated mate of her captor, Alien ship captain Bren🐺🍆🌋🔪🔫, a seven foot tall muscled and handsome humanoid warrior. His race is far advanced from the humans, and sex is almost unknown!
But he's a FAST learner!

Book2- Matthias's Miracle

Susan💃💋 is a human college student at a friend's room one evening, working in an eight girl study group, when she and the other girls are hit with a tractor beam and picked up by aliens, then taken to a Quasarian prison planet🌍.
Matthias🐺🍆🌋, Bren's brother, begins to get mental images of her coming from the planet🌍. She's his mate, and she's in trouble!

This book has more of a story and less dependence on the adult scenes to carry it along.

ARC Received from Booksprout🌱
I also got the book with KU.

These are both interesting and well written books📚. I enjoyed both of them because they had a good story that flowed quickly and had no slow spots. The books were both written in first person but from each point of view.

One of the nicest aspects of this duology is that Tate inverts a classic SF/F romance trope. Here, we have a longstanding matriarchal alien civilization that has reached the stage where it’s become almost abusive in how its males are treated. There are so few women among the people of Quasar that those women have an undue influence on their society and treat the men as harems of forced breeding stock. How refreshing to see that trope, usually applied to women in SF/F, applied to men for once!

So the underlying theme of these books is working to restore parity between males and females on Quasar, the impetus of which is the discovery that human females instigate the long-dormant mating drive in the males of Quasar. One thing I loved is that Tate uses ancient rules that haven’t been considered by the Quasar for ages as the way for the males of Quasar to demand fair treatment of them and their human mates, who are clearly seen as a threat to the dominant female matriarchy.

I had a bit of trouble with Bren’s Blessing, in that the heroine Hannah is the sole scientist (and doctor!) on a long-range NASA mission—at age 28. So she’s supposed to exceedingly smart and has to have been incredibly dedicated to her work to be where she is on the Mars Skylab—but the initial part of the story, told from her POV, comes across as juvenile and silly. I simply couldn’t buy her as a brilliant scientist, and definitely not to have accomplished what she has at such a young age. She gets better as Bren’s Blessing moves along, coming up with innovative solutions to later problems in the book, but it was hard to reconcile her with that premise.

Matthias’s Miracle worked better for me in this sense, in that the heroine and her compatriots are all college students, so their reactions and sense of what is happening to them worked much better. I liked that Susan had true phobias that Matthias respected. Both Bren and Matthias are great characters, hating what awaits them as men of their world and relishing the new means that they have to begin to change that.

These are insta-lust books—the whole reason these couples join is an undeniable mating bond. I would have liked to see them discover more about themselves as people, so that we moved their relationships more to the personal rather than the physical. I hope to see that more in future books in this series.

But Tate has established an interesting premise here, and Matthias’s Miracle, in particular, really expands the potential for stories in this universe, introducing some mysteries as well as a large number of potential protagonists. (I really hope Bren’s friends and crewmates Atticus and Brock have their own stories coming!) This is a great premise to explore, so I’m excited for future books and couples in this series.

This boxset is the first 2 books of The Quasar's Lineage Series by Pearl Tate. The books included are:

Bren's Blessing
I really liked this story. It was entertaining and enjoyable especially for being the first book in the series. The characters were interesting and likable for the most part. Travek was not nice and I sort of hope that something bad happens to him given what he wanted to do to Hannah and perhaps to other females from Earth. Hannah and Bren have an interesting first meeting given that she is on a Skylab that is orbiting Mars and he is from an alien race doing a routine check of their territory. They meet when he and a few others on his crew board the Skylab and then he takes Hannah. Bren and Hannah are drawn to each other very strongly. Their story takes off like a wildfire once they are on Bren's ship Destiny. Their connection is tested when they get to Quasar with interesting results. I really enjoyed the relationship that Bren and Hannah had and their happy ever after. I look forward to the next book in the series.

Matthias's Miracle
I liked this story a lot. It was nice getting to check in with Bren and Hannah as well as get a new couple in Matthias and Susan. Susan is one of eight young women that are abducted by aliens from college, She starts to wake up as she is separated from her friends. The next thing that Susan realizes is that she is now tied to a bed. She fights and fights and then hears a roar of rage. Her rescuer is Matthias and even though he scares her, she realizes that he is trying to help her. He quickly becomes the one person that she wants to hold onto. Matthias is Bren's brother, so he knows what it means when his mating marks start to show up. He also starts dreaming about his mate and knows that he has to get to her. When he finds her tied to a bed, he wants to hurt those that attacked her, but more importantly, he wants to release her and let her know she doesn't need to be afraid anymore. Matthias is nervous about having a mate because of how he was treated on Quasar. The way Matthias and Susan become a team and work together is wonderful considering what they had been through. Matthias became so protective of Susan and it was super sweet. The narration for this book was pretty awesome in my opinion. I really liked that there was a male and female narrator. I also liked that even if it was the female's point of view if the male had something to say the male narrator said it and vice versa.

I recommend reading any or all of these books. Or listening to them as the narrator's do a great job and they are very enjoyable!

Bren;s Blessing---Hannah is a 28 year old human woman orbiting Mars. She;s also a doctor. She is thrilled to be there..i;s the culmination of her dreams. When communications from earth don;t arrive on time she starts to analyze and follow protocol. She knows something isn;t right. As she trying to figure out what;s going on the skylab is hit and then the hatch wheel is being turned. Wait what! Now the protocol for self destruct has started and in comes four huge aliens!! Hannah is struck with how humanoid they aliens appear. She floats over to the leader and gently runs her hand down his face...it feels like velvet. Immediately her thoughts turn to the naughty. Suddenly the alien, Bren, grabs her and they leave. Bren has smelled the self destruct and is leaving the ship with the female. He is captain and he claims her for his own. Life for both Bren and Hannah has gotten interesting and possibly dangerous.

Matthias;s Miracle---After a whole bunch of adventures of the not good kind, Matthias, Bren;s brother, wakes one day to mate marks on his body. Per old rules/customs he will take a six month sabbatical and leave the planet to go search for his mate, another human female. His forced upon him wife is not happy but because he shows the mate marks on his body his marriage is null and void. Now he, Bren and Hannah are headed into space to find his mate and get him his hea.

Both stories are fantastic and the out of this world (giggle). The adventure of a lifetime for both alien and human are heart stopping.
Fantastic stories and reads!!

Bren's Blessing
I about squealed my head off while reading this!
You know when you read a book and you squeal, but the  squealing is about something so miniscule, its basically nothing? Or something that happen 3 chapters ago, but it popped into your head agin? No?
Huh. Maybe its just me then =D
I was pulled into this book so fast, it was almost like whiplash.
But whiplash in a good way. No pain included.
I could not put it down!
I HAD to know what would happen next with Hannah and Bren.
Whether it be sexy time, or a near death experience by creature or the evil Vina's glare, grrrr.
Now, I just wanna know what will happen to Matthais.
SO...on to the next!
Happy reading!

Matthias's Miracle
This was a little bit more serious than the first book. Due to background stories of Susan and Matthias, they had a bit more obstacles to cross. But through it all, they found strength, love and insane attraction in eachother.
I am so excited to see what will become of the other men and women.
I will be rushing to purchase them so I wont have to wait.
I would highly recommend this book and this series.
Happy reading!

Now this is an excellent sci-fi romance duet. It sets the stage for the Quasar series with Bren and Hannah then Matthias and Susan's stories. For the first time in over two thousand years, mate bonding and matching mating marks have appeared, first on Bren and Hannah then on his brother Matthias and his mate Susan. All in a matriarchal society where the women rule and the men are virtually enslaved by their wife. Where the women usually have multiple husbands and sex for the men is enabled by a drug similar to Viagra. These newly awakened bonds with strong and opinionated human females are sure to result in a lot of "crossed swords" with the Quasar council. Very entertaining. Should be read before Devlin's story because it answers a lot of missing info.

A must read!

I came across this author while reading ARC and the book sounded interesting
Now I watch out for this author as she has become a favourite read.

Well written, and easy to read. I know these are the first two books, but it will be good to wait for the whole set, I just hope that the full set is not ending soon.

If you want details and spoilers then check out the individual books, these are hard not to love!

Bren’s Blessing

Great storyline with lots of chemistry between the characters, I feel it’s Randi and Kelsey’s personalities that really bring these alive. Lots of action, and even more hot and steamy scenes. Fantastic performance from both narrators. Highly recommend.

Wow, Kelsey and Randi bring these characters alive so very well. The book is written very well and enhanced by the fantastic narration. It’s great seeing a vulnerability in the male leads.

This two book bundle brings the beginning to a new alien romance adventure. Plenty of alien abduction that leads to action and danger. The romance is always hot as these alien males find the mates and try to win their hearts. But there will be lots of problems and twists. Expect anything when it comes to gorgeous alien males and their need to protect what is theirs.

Exciting Sci-fi read

Excellent depiction of a world where the society is run by female chauvinism and the men are suppressed. This world has existed for centuries until an Alien male finds a true mate in a human women.
