C. Saravanakarthikeyan (Tamil: சி. சரவணகார்த்திகேயன்) (born 13 August 1984), known as CSK is a Tamil writer. He entered the field in 2007 and published 6 books to date. His writings appeared in many top Tamil magazines – both print and electronic media. His works include poems, short-stories, essays, reviews and translations. He got Tamil Nadu State Government's Award for Best Book (2009) and Kungumam Magazine's Prize for Best Poem (2007). He is a software engineer by profession and is now living in Bangalore.

I REALLY want to read this book but ....aaaargghhh!! It's not available in English.😫😫

I know from the movie that this book is very very very beautiful!

But I can't understand a word that's written in it.

Great! I loved reading this book. One of the first few books I read on kindle when I bought it. I used to follow the Author on Twitter when I was still using it, so the name was familiar. I picked it because I loved the movie, nostalgic, well directed, great music, overall great feel. Reading about it in the book helped me cherish the moments. He noted a bit more details that I did and did a great job expanding it with his own thoughts and experiences. Some parts felt like were repeated or dragged or broken into multiple katturaigal to make it 96 in total. I read this book over a year ago and writing a review now, the only feel I have about the book is that it was an enjoyable read. I also can recall going back to this book for some details to share with friends during 96 film chats. Thanks for writing it @Saravanakarthikeyan. You must have fell head over heals for the movie to write a book about it.

I have seen many movies based on books. First time a book based on a movie, that too a new movie.

Book is well written and tastefully projects both the positive and negative (not many) of the film. This movie will become a classic and this book will show the future generation how contemporaries felt about this movie.

A must read for anyone who loved '96 movie.

A full book about a movie is good to read but at few pages I felt things are repeating again and again.

மீண்டும் 96 படமா என்று ஓடுவோர் இந்நூல் கொண்டுள்ள முற்றிலும் புதிய உள்ளடக்கத்தை அணுகுமுறையை ஒருமுறை காண்க. மேலை நாடுகளில் ஒரு பொருளுக்கு எழும் துணை நூல் போல இந்நூல் இப்படத்திற்கு ஒரு துணை நூல் என்கிறார் ஆசிரியர்.

புத்தகத்தில் அட்டையோ பக்கமோ மடங்கினாலோ பரிசளிப்பவர்/ஆசிரியர் கையெழுத்தைத் தவிர வேறு யாரும் ஏதேனும் எழுதினாலோ பிடிக்காத என்னை இந்நூல் கரிக்கோல்(pencil) கொண்டு அடிக்கோடிடச் செய்தது. "உயர் துல்லியப் படம்", "சாக்கட்டித் தூள்", "நுட்பமுனைப்பு" போன்ற சில சொல்லாக்கம் அருமை.

96 படத்தில் ஒவ்வொரு நொடிக்காட்சியிலும் ஆழ அமிழ்ந்து அதில் உள்ள நாம் காணத் தவறிய பல நல்முத்தைக் கையில் அள்ளித் தருகிறது இந்நூல். இராமைத் துறவி போல் உலகை வேடிக்கை பார்க்கிறான் என்கிறது. அவன் அவளுக்காகக் கதவைத் திறந்துவிடுவதைப் பற்றி அவளை ஓர் இளவரசியாக நடத்துகிறான் என்கிறது. கௌரியைச் சேர நன்னாட்டிளம் பெண் என்று கூறுவது எத்துணை அழகு.

நரி ஊளையிடும் ஓசையை எல்லாம் இசையமைப்பாளர் இசையாக்கி வைத்திருப்பதைக் கோடிட்டுக் காட்டுகிறது. அவளின் மணநாள் அன்று அவன் வந்ததைச் சொல்லும் காட்சியின் பின்னணி இசை எனக்கு மிகப் பிடித்த ஒன்று. அதையும் குறிப்பிடுகிறார் ஆசிரியர்.

அவள் தங்கும் விடுதியில் அவன் நுழையும் காட்சி காண்போர்க்கு உறுத்தாமல் செருகப்பட்டிருப்பதைக் கூறுகிறது. இதுபோல் இப்படத்தில் அமைந்துள்ள பல நுட்பத்தைக் கண்ணில் படும்படி மேலேற்றிக் காட்டுகிறது இந்நூல் விளக்கின் திரியைத் தூண்டுவதைப் போல. அவர்கள் இருவருக்கும் இடையில் இருக்கும் காதல் முதல் இல்லாத கலவி வரை அனைத்தையும் பேசுகிறது இந்நூல்.

இராமின் மென்மையைப் பற்றிக் கூறும்பொழுது, ஒருவேளை வள்ளலாருக்குக் காதல் வந்திருந்தால் இராம் போலத் தான் நடந்திருப்பார் என்று ஆசிரியர் கூறுவது இராமிற்குத் தரும் ஆகப்பெரும் சிறப்பு. இப்படியே போனால் நூல் மொத்தத்தையும் இங்கே நான் கொடுக்க வேண்டிவரும் என்பதால் இத்துடன் அமைகிறேன்.

ஒருமுறை படித்துள்ளேன் ஆனால் இன்னும் பலமுறை இந்நூலைப் படிப்பேன் என்று எண்ணுகிறேன். 96 படம் பிடித்தோர் ஒரு முறையேனும் கட்டாயம் படிக்க வேண்டிய நூல் இது. படிக்கப்படிக்க இன்னும் ஆழத்திற்கு இழுத்துச் செல்கிறது. இப்பதிவை எழுத இந்நூலில் கோடிட்ட வரிகளை மீண்டும் படிக்கையில் மயிர்க்கூச்செறிந்தது. இதற்கு மேலும் புரட்ட வலுவின்றி ஒரே சமயத்தில் உட்கொள்ளும் திறனின்றிப் பாதியில் நிறுத்திப் பதிவை நிறைவு செய்கிறேன்.

ஆம் ஆசிரியர் கூறியது போல் இந்நூல் 96 திரைப்படத்திற்குத் துணை நூலே! துணையே! தனிப்பெருந்துணையே!

Not so bad !!

This book was good. Some of the episodes were truly touching and taking us to the clouds of out beautiful past. But yet some episodes are boring and the rest are funny

My first Tamil book. Initial details about technicians could have been avoided. Felt it could have been made short , just dragged to make sure it reaches 96 chapters.
But once the author enters into movie story it is good and engaging. Detailings about movie is just awesome. Description about movies and character s were nice and details about song placements is amazing.
