Summit County #4

Taking Risk in Summit County

Rate this book
He can’t have her. She stopped dreaming of him a long time ago. But what if God has a future for them?

When he looks across the room and sees the woman he’s known for years in a whole new light, everything changes. It doesn’t matter that she’s everything he wants. She’s off-limits. She’s always known he was off-limits. The feelings she once had for him are in the distant past and need to stay there. When circumstances keep throwing them together, it gets harder and harder to fight their feelings—or to hold onto the reasons they each have for hiding them. They’ve both learned from painful experience that wanting something isn’t enough and life doesn’t go along with carefully concocted plans, but they’re risk takers by nature. Can they put down their fears long enough to stop fighting against their desires? Can they trust God enough to put an uncertain future into His hands?

Katherine Karrol is both a fan and an author of sweet, clean Christian romance stories about imperfect people with imperfect lives. Because she does not possess the ability or desire to put a good book down and generally reads them in one sitting, she writes books that can be read in the same way.

Her books are meant to entertain and even possibly inspire the reader to take chances, trust God, and laugh at life as much as possible. The people she interacts with in her professional life have absolutely no idea that she writes these books, so by reading this, you agree to keep her secret.

This was such an incredibly realistic read for someone who has experience with chronic illness or an invisible disease. It is evident that the author knows what she is writing about because all the emotions, insecurities, doubts—all of Shelby’s experiences as a whole—were so spot on!

I loved the friendship and love between Shelby and Clay. The way that Clay was able to show his level of commitment and love for Shelby as they navigated her illness together was perfect. That’s my kind of hero!

This was a sweet story, fills with lots of tender moments, friendship, and hope. I love how Katherine Karrol is able to take a serious situation and still make it beautiful and hopeful.

Never read anything from this author befor

So I had no knowledge of how this author wrote. Her characters behaved or her realm of knowledge on Chronic Health conditions where people accuse you of not trusting God so that's why your not healed. I have the worst pain condition that's scaled right now. The author describes it perfectly about friends walking away, judging you and your faith. This book covered a small part of Shelby and Clays life and made it live. Can't wait to read more.

Wonderful!

Having had my own issues with a chronic medical condition and my husband's health issues before his death, I really related to this story. Thankfully my husband and I had been married for over 25+ years before our medical issues. God had given us the strength to take up the slack when one of us was down and the other one was up and able to step in and do the things that needed to be done. This was a wonderful story of looking to God for directions and decisions.

Can Clay and Shelby complement each other, or will they refuse to open up? Find out in this sweet, Christian romance that illuminates living with chronic illness and the importance of faith.

Very good story about two people who have had life changing events in their lives. So glad that they found each other and that Clay pushes for what he wants.

This is the first book I've read in the series. Even though I read it out of sequence there was enough background details of who the cast of characters were. This made it a great stand alone read. The story centers around Shelby, a once energetic athletic woman who is trying to rehabilitate from a disease. The storyline gives insight into what life is like for someone going through a time of slow healing. It shows how to provide encouragement to someone going through a tough time and is a good reminder to appreciate our blessings daily and to keep focus on God and what lies ahead. Read this book. It will give you a boost in your outlook on life.

“It’s okay to hope.”

Chronic illness and rejection has scarred Shelby and shaken her trust. In this book we see her confidence restored as she learns to trust again. A stand alone but definitely more enjoyable if you have read the previous books.

This is a sweet, clean Christian romance with interesting characters. Clayton and Shelby were both athletic and both have had to step back from what they thought their life would be like due to injury or health issues. Deals with how other Christians telling you that your illness is due to you not trusting God enough. I can't figure out how some Christians seem to think that if you are right with God, you will have good health and plenty of money and material goods. Jesus NEVER promised that if we followed him, we would have a wonderful life on this earth with no illness or worries.I like how Clayton is so understanding of Shelby's problems and doesn't let it deter him from pursuing her.
