Loved it...

But then again, I never doubted that I would love it...😏

There's something unique and overwhelming in Lauren's writing that simply captivates me on a level I can't even begin to explain...

So, there...I might be biased but I don't give a shit...lol

Sasha

He was a soldier. A killer. A Russian Elite.

We meet Sasha in the Kiss of Death series, he's Una's condfidant and battle brother, they are tight with a special bond, which is remarkable considering the brutal and tormenting training they both went through training as The Russian Elite, the finest, the most ruthless and the most efficient of assasins, until they weren't. Until they cut the core and set themselves free, now living and working as the contractors for hire.

Sasha gets assigned with protecting Adelina Ricci, a Sicialian mob princess. Even though, reluctant at first, he would take his task seriously and meticulously.

At first she's an annoyance to Sasha, but then slowly Adelina simply gets under his skin, carrying her emotions on her sleeve, acting fearless and rash yet showing bravery where most of the time Sasha's training stops him from recognizing it as a virtue but more likely as a weakness...

Adelina

She a mafia princess. A runaway bride.

She was promissed as a young girl to be wed into an arranged marriage as an alliance between the two Sicillian mafia families...and then when the time came, things and circumstances changed for the worse and suddenly Adelina's life is in danger BUT so are the lives of the people surrounding her, offering her protection and hideout...and at some point Adelina found the strength within to take the matter into her own hands as to protect the people in immediate danger...and she won't stop at nothing to save them even at the cost of her own life in the line of fire...or maybe even greater of sacrifices...

Book 1 ends with the cliffy and it leaves you with the gasp and the expectations of what's to come...and it's bloody damn hard to sit and wait for the sequel...

so, write fast Lauren, write fast ;)

Loathe Me is the latest book from L.P. Lovell and it's Sasha's story. First in order to thoroughly enjoy this book I suggest you read The Kiss of Death Duet featuring Nero and Una. You will be able to get a full picture of Sasha and how much he changes through out the story. I couldn't wait for Sasha's story and was not disappointed. I loved this book, Sasha is so much more than I could have imagined and his changes were wonderful. Such simple pleasures we take for granted seem to bring such confusion to him. Adelina is also so much more than she seems. At first she appears to be a naïve Mafia Princess which to some extent she is but she's also brave, feisty and selfless. I loved the connection she had with Sasha and although I don't agree with what she did I understand her reasoning. This one does end on a cliffhanger and I can't wait to see Sasha unleased.

Since Una and Nero's story in Kill Me, L.P Lovell has been building an amazing mafia saga.  I've been following her characters with a  keen interest.

Sasha has been there from the beginning, I was so glad to hear he would have his own series! Loathe Me is the first installment of the Touch of Death series. With its dark tone, fast paced intrigue, it gripped me from cover to cover.

In charge of the the protection of Lina, Sicilian mafia princess, Sasha is dead set in fulfilling his contract.

“I’m an assassin, not a babysitter.” He huffs a laugh. “Semantics. She just needs deadly.”

His determination will be challenged, though, since the young woman assuredly has many hidden talents. She totally cracked me up.

Guns, explosions, incredible tension, the atmosphere is set. That is without mentioning Lina's deep emotions. Her guilt, her frustration, her loyalty fed her rebellious attitude.

"I expect her fear, want it even, but as I meet her gaze, there is none. Only defiance. Behind those eyes a war is brewing, and it matches my own."

Will she crack open her protector's strong shield? I'm not telling you. The cold, focused and distant Sasha has definitely a lot to handle when it comes to Lina!!!

"A tiger might seem friendly, Lina. Doesn’t mean he won’t bite you."

I VOLUNTARILY REVIEWED AN ARC COPY OF THIS BOOK. THANK YOU!!!

I absolutely adored Loathe Me. It was flawless to me. It was just the type of book I was looking for. I love assassin books especially when the guys are dead inside because when they fall. They fall hard! They are over the top possessive and aggressive.

Adelina is the second daughter of The Sicilian crime boss. She is living in her sister’s shadow. Her only use is to used through marriage an because of that, her life is now in danger. Her older sister seeks protection for Adelina in the form of a bodyguard. Sasha is a killing machine. Nothing fazes him. He is cold and aloof. Something that bothers Adelina a great deal. She feels inconsequential in his presence and the fact that he finds it irritating to talk to her. The hunt is on for Adelina and Sasha is the only one that can protect her. She just has to trust that he won’t kill her first.

I loved Adelina. I found her so fierce and selfless. Her life has basically being uprooted and a bodyguard that has been forced on her but she braves the storm head on. As you get more into the book, you get to see her characteristics and personality that you can’t help but admire. I loved that she defied Sasha every chance she got. She was no whimpering female. When it came time for her to take a stand and do what needs to be done, she did. And that’s how we got that cliffhanger that has me desperately aching for more. I need the next book like pronto.

Loathe Me by L.P. Lovell is book one of the Touch of Death series, full of nonstop action, suspense, and a brewing war between crime families with one trained assassin standing in the middle of it all. Sasha was found as a young boy and taken in by the Elite to be morphed into the perfect soldier. Abused and brainwashed for years, he actually formed an attachment to the man who took him in, until he took things too far and Sasha made a choice to stand by his sister, Una, and her family instead of the only father he ever knew. Now out of the Elite but the lifestyle never out of his mind, Sasha is a contract killer with a brand new assignment to protect a mafia princess at all costs and keep her away from the one who wants to claim her as his bride.

Adelina Ricci is the second daughter to a powerful man but was always raised away from the big bad world and treated as a child. Even now being on the run to stay a step ahead of a long ago marriage aggreement, Adelina knows nothing of what is really going on and treated more like a prisoner than an actual protection job. Having Sasha act so indifferent to any emotion is not something Adelina has ever witnessed, and the more time together the more she tries to rattle his cage and make Sasha break while at the same time trying to escape him to end all the fighting and running for good.

I'm starting to appreciate L.P. Lovell's writing so it was easy to want to read Loathe Me. There is just something about how with just words the adrenaline starts pumping as if I'm there on the run with Sasha and Adelina and also the fact she can make a psychopathic killer seem loveable and someone to root for. I love how much the storyline shifts without breaking pace of all the danger coming to the characters. Sasha and Adelina are so opposite it's laughable but are two people who truly need each other and not just to survive. Sasha's strict rules and total lack of emotion is a balance to Adelina and her wildness that had her acting out without much thought. After reaching the end and with that jaw dropping cliffhanger I am already itching for more of this series. I'm also looking forward to properly meeting the other characters in their own stories to complete the gap that is bridged in Loathe Me. Such a fantastic read and what a way to start off for Sasha and Adelina, with this only being book one I can't even begin to imagine what L.P. Lovell has up her sleeve for the second.

What an absolutely explosive read! My hearts pumping and my mind hurts but I never expect anything less when reading LP Lovells captivating words.

To fully enjoy this story The Killers Duet is a must read, continuing on from Una and Nero’s world we find ourselves completely absorbed in Sasha’s life and his most recent job as Adelina’s protector from the Bianchi mafia family. The struggles he now faces because of his upbringing in the Elite army are crazy he is blocked off mentally from normal human interactions but this only made me more inquisitive as to who he truly was as a person.

Adelina Ricci is a mafia princess but one morning her world changed forever, everyone around her is keeping her in the dark and Sasha her now bodyguard is just a human robot that barks orders at her and offers no sympathy on her situation. She can’t trust anyone least if all those closest to her but will her lack of trust be her downfall?

A flawlessly written story that left me longing for the pages to never end! I can’t wait for the next part!

5 Stars for a Fantastic Book!
A promise was made a long time ago and it has been broken bringing death. Sasha, an Elite Russian Soldier, was hired to protect Adelina, the Italian Mafia Princess. She doesn't want his protection. He's a machine, that has been programmed his entire life and he will protect her. This is a great story. I was taken captive from page 1 to the last page. And what an ending, I can't wait for the next book. I love LP Lovell's books. She is a phenomenal author! I've read 6 of her books and plan on reading all of her books. Read this today!

This was a pretty good read. Adelina Ricci is a mafia princess who is on the run after her father is killed she is promised to another families son. She is being protected by Sasha who is an elite assassin. This book had a lot of action and violence in it. I also loved the chemistry between Sasha and Adeline. What I did have a problem with was this book did have some errors in it and it left off on a cliffhanger. I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series.

Oh my goodness!
LP Lovell knows how to drag me in and keep me there! Fast paced and edgy, wonderfully written with a beautiful slow burn love story.
This book is a wonderful blend of danger mixed with romance, something we often see LP Lovell achieve but this time, Sasha and Adelina are a match made in heaven.
Can not wait for the next book!

Although I really liked this I won't continue the series. Sasha was great. Adelina had just the right amount of sass. What she did at the very end was incredibly stupid. From the descriptions of the next two books, she continues that idiocy for the duration of those books, so no thanks.

This has got to be my favourite from this world so far!

My heart! My God, I wasn't expecting those last scenes and how much I would feel 💔 I dont know about the characters but I feel betrayed 😂🙈

I think Adelina may be my favourite female character from this little world, she surprised me with her strength and thirst for revenge. Adenlina comes across as a 'spoilt little princess' but she turns out to be a selfless woman who fights for the people she loves before herself. She definitely took me by surprise as the story went on and I think Sasha underestimated her too especially after that ending!

I really love Sasha, I have ever since Make Me. Throughout the other books he's been a side character that I've always felt for. He's brutal after trained by the elite from a young age, yet I always had a feeling that there was a slightly softer side deep down, his loyalty to Una always had me thinking that he wasn't as hardened as he'd thought. Adelina was a job to him, nothing more, until she wasn't. You could see it happening gradually, his feelings for her were slowly starting to show and this confused him after never having had love in his life before.

You know when you read romance books and there seems to always be a particular moment when the guy suddenly realises he has feelings for the girl? When shes doing nothing in particular? Well this book had none of that. Sasha's feelings for Adelina snuck up on me as much as they did him and I love how LP Lovell did that. Obviously, with this book being in romance I knew he would fall for her but I never saw it happen, it just did 🤷‍♀️

I was glad to see Nero and Una have a part in this story, I kinda missed those two. Although being a mother hasn't softened Una, I think shes more of a bitch now 😂

I also need to mention Tommy, I love him! He's that funny side character that everyone loves.

The story was great and kept me turning the pages but I cannot believe this woman left me hanging like that! 🤬 Good job I love her though!

I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author as I had volunteered to review and do ARC for 3rd book in the series (for that I need to read entire series).
This is the first book I m reading of this Author. This book is about Sasha and Adelina. This book made me intrigued about Una and Nero’s story. I will pick it up one day.
Adelina is the second daughter of The Sicilian crime boss. Her only use is through a marriage and make a stronger alliance to her family. Now suddenly her older sister Gabriella who is next in line for Mafia throne, claims that her life is in danger because of the alliance made for her when she was a child. Initially Adelina looks and acts exactly like a spoiled, secured mafia princess. Her personality is much stronger than that. She is fiercer and more selfless. Her older sister seeks a protection to her in form of bodyguard. Sasha becomes her body guard to protect her from the family/Binachi who wants her.
Sasha is a contract killer with a new assignment to protect Adelina and keep her away from the one who wants to claim her as his bride. Even though he is independent and doesn’t work for any one, he accepts this job for Nero and Una’s sake. He struggles because of his upbringing in the Elite army and he is blocked off mentally from normal human interactions and is mostly a killing machine.
Adelina being the total opposite of Sasha, will they survive each other? It’s full of drama and yet, it makes you turn next pages. Sasha soon realizes she is spirited, selfless and fool headed. Plot and story goes smoothly, but still I think, the bond between Sasha and Adelina could have been better. With threat looming all around them, how well they face each other and the threat? Una and Nero play a huge part in this book. Note: It ends with Cliff-hanger.

I gotta admit I really like Sasha. I even quite like Adalina. I do wish, however, that they had been able to develop their relationship more. I feel like one day they were strangers, and the next apparently had this ‘unexplainable’ bond. And I was kinda like where did that come from.
I did really like the beginning of Sasha’s character development too. I like watching him beginning to care about something that wasn’t Una. I just wish there had been more between him and Adalina. I felt like they didn’t really talk much or do much together, that she was mainly locked in her room.
I really quite like Adalina as well. She was a refreshing character that doesn’t have a horrifying backstory like Una and Anna, and even Sasha. She was a nice change of pace and I loved that she was fairly normal.
There were some things, like their relationship that didn’t get explained enough. For example Adalina’s weird need to revenge at the end of the book - like I know her fiancé killed her dad (although I think Sasha might have been the one to pull the trigger - this hasn’t really been confirmed in so many words yet tho) but she seemed only sad about his death and mad that her sister didn’t tell her. I felt like her leaving at the end with the intention of getting close enough to kill him was outta left field. She even said it once or twice that she could do it but she left Sasha literally saying she wants his head and I didn’t expect that from her. I didn’t want it from her either if I’m being honest.
I’m really hoping that his book doesn’t made Adalina into some wannabe assassin like Anna’s book tried to make her. I really like all these characters as individuals and would prefer them to remain that way.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.

HOLY HELL! Loathe Me grabbed me by the throat, and didn't let go. This is the story of Adelina Ricci, a mafia princess, and Sasha, former member of The Russian Elite. It felt like she was raised in somewhat a cotton existence (though she knew who her family was) for her father & older sister to protect her from the ugly, while his whole life was torture & training to become a next level assassin. It was so brutal that Sasha still can't be touched, and has no idea what love is. He's tasked to watch over Adelina, who is in big time danger from a man, who will stop at nothing to own her. Unfortunately, her father made a contract for her marriage to said horrible man, and while he wasn't going to let her marry him, this man won't let it go. Thus starts the journey for Sasha & Adelina, which wasn't at all pretty, and I found myself disliking him a lot. She was going crazy, and he didn't care, as long as she was safe so he came off very cold, but that kind of stir crazy makes even somewhat level headed people make questionable decisions, and Adelina did which I did applaud since Sasha was on my last damn nerve. Just when she started to bond with the cold Russian, the rug was pulled out from under her, and she felt betrayed by all involved. I have to admit there were some HUGE twists, which had me dropping loud f-bombs, and by the end, that cliffy was just cruel. Thankfully, I already had the next book, though I couldn't get it to pull up on my kindle fast enough. So, I'm not saying another word about this amazing read, which means you'll have to just one click it. HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

This story is 𝐄𝐕𝐄𝐑𝐘𝐓𝐇𝐈𝐍𝐆 a mafia story should be! There was no grazing over the danger and perilous situations. The author lays it out and presents it to the reader like a buffet. There is murder, loyalty, betrayal, vengeance and passion, everything you need for a good mafia story! Lovell sure knows how to write syndicated crime stories.

𝑺𝒂𝒔𝒉𝒂 - 𝑯𝒆 𝒊𝒔 𝒂 𝒔𝒐𝒍𝒅𝒊𝒆𝒓. 𝑨 𝒌𝒊𝒍𝒍𝒆𝒓. 𝑨 𝑹𝒖𝒔𝒔𝒊𝒂𝒏 𝑬𝒍𝒊𝒕𝒆.

𝑨𝒅𝒆𝒍𝒊𝒏𝒂 - 𝑺𝒉𝒆 𝒊𝒔 𝒂 𝒎𝒂𝒇𝒊𝒂 𝒑𝒓𝒊𝒏𝒄𝒆𝒔𝒔. 𝑨 𝒓𝒖𝒏𝒂𝒘𝒂𝒚 𝒃𝒓𝒊𝒅𝒆. 𝑯𝒊𝒔 𝒋𝒐𝒃.

Sasha Ivanov is manipulated into securing the safety of Adelina Ricci, a mafia princess blindly caught up in an age old promise of a betrothal between two prominent familias. His vow to never allow Enrique Bianchi to take her becomes more than he can promise, when she takes matters into her own hands.

The gravitation and attraction between Sasha and Adelina is tantalizing and sizzling! Their rapport and connection sharpens the story into the remarkable read that it is.

I have yet to read the Kiss of Death Series, but I have read the prequel, 𝐌𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐌𝐞 (𝐊𝐢𝐬𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐃𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐡 𝟎.𝟓), so I am familiar with Sasha and Una and I think that alone made the difference in recognition of some of the characters within 𝐋𝐨𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐌𝐞 . While it would have been favorable to have read the KoD series to understand the background of these characters, it is not necessary, but I will be gobbling them up before the next installment is released.

I’m a huge lover of this author. Loathe Me is book #1 in the Touch Of Death series. It’s a great mafia romance story which left us with a cliffhanger, it’s by no means resolved anything but I’m anticipating the release of book #2 in a few months... Sasha is a ruthless killing machine, a Russian trained assassin, trained as a child to be devoid of feelings and basic human emotions. Adelina Ricci is part of a Sicilian crime family. Her father is the boss and her sister is second in charge, though she lives a life in England away from the family. When a war between two powerful mafia families The Rocco’s and the Bianchi’s seems certain, Sasha is forced to take on a role as her protector. Initially she fears him and he thinks she’s some sort of princess. But she’s determined and defiant, resourceful, smart and spirited, and Sasha realises he’s totally underestimated her. When everyone she thought she was close to she feels has betrayed her, Sasha becomes the only person she believes she can rely on. And something in Sasha changes too. He’s no longer hardened to her suffering, maybe others, but no longer hers. She’s a prize for a rival mafia family which he must protect at all costs. And now she becomes his weakness...

“She’s close, too close. I can feel the heat of her body, smell the lingering scent of her lemon shampoo mixed with the metallic hint of blood. Every cell in my body becomes aware of her all at once. It’s like…gravity.”

Una, Nero, Sasha and this unknown entity who joins their bloody dance. This book is everything and more as we return to them as they engage in another battle, in their war against the Elite and their goal to have a “normal” life and reign supreme.

Adelina is a pawn in a Mafia power game, promised as a child to strengthen family ties and keep the peace. Now all grown up, things have not worked out as planned and she is the sacrificial lamb to slaughter but her sister has other plans. Turning to Nero for help he enlists Sasha, blood brother to Una (Kiss of Death series) as he can’t be seen to be taking sides to be her bodyguard. Yet life has a funny way of screwing with the best laid plans and they find themselves once again embroiled in a larger power play. On the run and unsure of who to trust Sasha sees the spoiled Mafia Princess for more than what the surface reveals. Awakening his humanity in the most basic of ways Sasha is unsure how to react to the feeling she has ignited. Torn between his word and his family can Sasha have it all?

Loved every word, every page and cannot wait for the next book in this series. It ended with a gasp and I really cannot contain my excitement to see where this story goes. She is fire and ice all in one petite package. Sasha does not know defeat and I think he will raze the world to ashes to keep his word. Una and Nero are my ultimate dark mafia/assassin couple and I loved seeing her nurturing side. A fantastic addition to this series.

A five star it’s like gravity read.

I have always loved a good mafia romance but this one is already one of my all time favs even though this is just the beginning. This is book one of the Touch of Death Series and ends on a cliff hanger and continues in book two, Leave Me. This book is action-packed from page one and includes mafia wars, betrayal, lies, secrets, protection of a mafia princess and an unexpected romance.

Loathe Me is phenomenally written with wonderful characters and a great storyline that kept me on the edge of my seat. Adelina is running from the inevitable. Sasha has been tasked as her protector. It was meant to be a job... keep her safe. While on the run and hiding from the ones hunting her and the wars that are brewing neither of them expected for feelings to begin, making their situation and choices that much harder.

Highly recommend!

Another devilishly dirty delight!
This author never disappoints with her mafia romances!
In this story we get a perfect blend of raw grit, intensity, and devilishly dirty goodness.
Loathe me can certainly be read as a standalone, however reading the Kiss of Death series does offer more insight into Sasha’s character where he was first introduced.
Sasha is assigned to his next job...
Protecting a mafia princess.
It turns out things are never what they appear, and his new assignment takes on all kinds of delicious unexpected twists.
What develops between Sasha and Adelina was a fast paced combustible story.
Roles may be reversed and the ending left me hungry for more! Can’t wait to discover what happens next!

REVIEW - Loathe Me (Touch Of Death, #1) by LP Lovell

5 Stars

**********************************************
An explosive first book in the new Touch Of Death series from LP Lovell.

With old favourite characters closely woven into this story, we are once again kept in almost permanent suspense. Knowing the destruction that the Bratva Elite deliver, and that the Mafia are linked too, can only mean that Adelina is in serious danger.

The characters are brilliantly developed and despite their inhumanity, still call out and show us a glimmer of life. Can anything crack the hard exterior that keeps everyone at bay? Or will it all come too late?

I absolutely loved this book and read it in one sitting. It’s compelling and I’m dying for book #2!

This is the first of the new series Touch of Death. Loath Me is an amazing story!
We find ourselves in the midst of an all out mafia war with the Elite working for Enrique Bianchi. Mafia boss.
Adelina is promised to Enrique from a young age to appease the two Italian sides. But Adelina didn’t know this until he comes around to collect her.

Gabriella Adelina’s sister sends her away to protect her with a personal bodyguard Sasha from the Elite.

Adelina is fed up of others telling her what to do and how to do it. She’s tired of all the secrets. Tired of it all. There is just one thing she didn’t count on and it’s Sasha.

Loathe Me is what a good mafia story looks like. The story is also scorching. The electric pull between Adelina and Sasha is absolutely scintillating. Their chemistry is off the charts. HOT!

What I love SO MUCH about Lauren’s writing is the depth and detail that she gives us. She goes back to childhood, to where it all began and then slowly builds you up to the present. You never guess what character did what, or when. Don’t worry, it’s all mapped out for you. That in and of itself, makes her writing so addictive. It leaves you feeling as if you know each character and then, wanting more from them. I can’t wait for book two. I know that it will be just as amazing as this one.

This series is one of those that makes me giddy. I've been waiting for this book for what feels like forever. It continues the "story" of these amazing characters in its dark and suspenseful way. There is nothing sugary sweet about this dark underbelly crime syndicate. Yet, it still manages to give me hope. Hope, that love can grow in the darkest of places and that even the most broken of people can achieve happiness.

I was frustrated by the cliffhanger even though I shouldn't have been since each main character always has two books. Hopefully, the next will com soon.

This was my first LP Lovell read and im not sure i quite started in the right place but i can say that i really liked Sasha and Adelina and will have to go back as i now believe that Una and Nero have stories too so i need to binge read at somepoint!
I actually adore Sasha and his take no prisoners attitude, but seeing him start to melt and feel things was just beautiful to read.
