This is such a sweet, whimsical little anthology that depicts the entire lifespan of a chicken. It's as cute as it is charming, and I laughed out loud a couple times (namely with the haikus dealing with Farmer Mason and/or the other farm animals). Without giving anything away, the ending made me do an internal hand clench over my heart. Very bittersweet! I think this would be a lovely edition to anyone's shelves, young or old!
