It shouldn’t have led to anything more because of what we were to each other.
But I loved him, even if he was my stepbrother.
He was called a bad boy, a degenerate, and was rough and raw in every male way that counted.
But I loved him still. And that one night, those taboo touches, the softly, filthily spoken words he whispered changed my life forever.
He gave me his baby. Before I had a chance to tell him, he was sent away, ripped from my life and leaving this open wound.
But I waited for him.
A year has passed and now he’s back, wanting us to start where we left off. And I want that, but I can’t hide the truth anymore. He has to know this baby is his.
Warning: It's sweet. It's dirty. It features a hero that will do anything to be with the girl he loves. A secret baby romance that gives you all the swoons but doesn't leave you hanging! Includes an all-new, never-before published epilogue to wrap everything up in a perfect HEA.
This is a quick read and one thing I always know is that Jenika Snow never disappoints.
Catherine has just graduated high school and is on the verge of starting a new chapter at college but a night at a party with the step brother she loves with all her heart changes her life forever.
Sutton has been on love with Catherine from the day her and her mum walked through the front door, he has been fighting his feelings for the past two years but as the high school bad boy he has stayed away but the night they attend a party everything changes in a way that neither of them ever thought and he knows that this is the night he will claim Catherine as his for now and for always.
Easy, safe read that has a perfect epilogue. As always a cute read that you can get through in one sitting.
What a beautiful story. It was super short but I felt so much emotions while reading it. Just beautiful. I loved it!
It's about Sutton and Catherine.
They're step siblings. His father married her mother two years ago. They just graduated high school. He's labeled as a bad boy troublemaker and she's the good girl. They're opposite but they secretly loved each other until one night and that night changed their lives forever. Will he come back for her? Will she wait for him?
It's not often that I loved both H and h and I loved Sutton and Catherine. He's protective of her and she's keeping him grounded. They're so cute together and I loved how they loved each other.
I like the step brother trope so that was not the problem. I just didn’t care for the writing. While I was listening to the sexy times, I felt like Catherine wasn’t even participating. The picture in my mind had her just laying there. Not very sexy at all.
I had happy tears when I was done with this book. I loved it. It was my first book by Jenika and it won't be my last.
This is the second time that I have read this book and I loved it even more than the first time. I first heard this book on the Read Me Romance podcast and I am glad that I was able to read it again and revisit Sutton and Catherine and get the epilogue. The epilogue was awesome. I literally sat at work and read this book at my desk. It was a quick read and you will not be disappointed.
This was a quick fun, step-brother/sister erotic story during that time between graduating high school and starting college. This story starts out with a fire, smoking hot scene! It is an engaging short erotic story as promised and the perfect thing to cleanse the emotional palette.

Step brother romance is interesting, though surprise pregnancy isn't and the overall novella felt dull. I just couldn't connect with this couple's supposed "love". Quite convenient the parents didn't have an issue whatsoever with everything that transpired.
That was both super weird and kind of dull. I don't mind that it was taboo, but it actually felt a bit culty, with the heroine losing her virginity to her step-brother and getting pregnant all in one go, and then the parents being ok with it???? Yeah. Weird...
If you’re into “step romance” + a virgin heroine + a misunderstood bad boy hero + a maaay-jah drama + a secret baby...then this story will be steamy, sexy, spicy-swheeeet book candy. For me (purely because I’m getting old and curmudgeonly and my patience level with teen logic and decision making has a short fuse - 😆) it was ok. 3 Stars.
Another great story from this author. This one is taboo because some people do not think step siblings should be together . Sutton and Cathrine are step siblings and they both are in love with the other but they hide it until one night and in that one night their lives change forever.
I hate to say it but I really didn’t care for this book. It could be that I heard the audio version of it and should have waited until the kindle copy released but I just couldn’t get into the story. The narrators did not help and I was pissed to make it to the end and be told the epilogue will be available in when the book is released off audio. I live for an epilogue especially in these shorter reads and to not have one feels very incomplete. The story was simple and one we’ve read/heard before with a few different tropes thrown together. Boys father and girls mother marry, for two years they unknown to one another fall in love. They sleep together and bad boy that he is gets in a fight defending her honor in which he is then sentenced to a year in a juvie-esque jail. He does not want visitors and when he is released finds he has a daughter. Then it literally ends and without an epilogue the story reads flat. There’s no substance to hold it together or even hope that the two characters will be able to find or fight for a HEA. This was really offputting for me and now my expectations of these audio reads have me severely skeptical. I think I’ll just wait the ## months it takes for them to release. Personally I think the book should be released at the same time. The read me romance isn’t even all story based and much of some of the clips are just authors gabbing when I just wanted a story. It was too much work skipping and rewinding to the actual story and then find it incomplete was just mean.
A pretty good step-sibling YA novella.(As I usually say, novellas are a tricky beast.) I like step-stories as long as they aren't raised together as brother and sister from a very young age. In Because of You they're parent married when they were 16 y/o.
The blurb tells you everything you need to know about the story, so I won't go into details. Popped it up to 4 Stars because the writing & narration was good.
I read this book last night and while I enjoyed it, for some reason there seemed to be something missing. I can't even explain what it was. Normally, step romances don't bother me, especially from Ms. Snow but this story just seemed to be a little flat and predictable. I sort of knew how it would turn out! That said, I still enjoyed the book and the characters! There is really no drama or other woman stuff. This was a very short but an okay read!
My first Jenika Snow book and I enjoyed it. I really liked the characters she created, I liked the narrators used, and I will definitely be checking out her work in the future. This is also my first stepbrother romance and I’m not sure it’s my thing, but at least now I’ve tried it! The RMR ladies were hilarious in this one. Loved listening to their chats. Definitely recommend their podcast!
I was so excited to read this! All I have to say is ugh!
He gets in trouble and tells the girl to stay away for a year. He comes back and all is forgiven?! No! Grovel some I mean my God she was pregnant and you told her you didn't want to see her. Just no!
