Synthia Gissup is no stranger to hard work. In fact, hard work is the only kind she’s familiar with. That hustle leads to a promotion that she eagerly takes. Her decision lands her in New York, at the branch headquarter for up and coming magazine, Just Us. She quickly finds that the fast-paced hustle of New York is a lot different from the challenges she faced in her hometown of Dallas, Texas. She also quickly discovers that adjusting to the workload is the least of her problems. Her biggest dilemma is her unruly attraction to her new boss, Tate Grant.
Tate has always been a front liner campaigning for not mixing business with pleasure. After an office scandal that leaves a bad taste in his mouth, Tate vowed to never get mixed into an affair – real or otherwise – with any woman in his office. That is, until the undeniable, soft spoken beauty walks into his office and gets assigned to him. Now, he battles with holding true to his stance or tossing it out the window to indulge his unyielding interest in Synthia Gissup.
Deshon Dreamz writes stories that make you dig your imagination from the deepest place inside of you and create a reality within dreams.
A hopeless romantic, Deshon began writing novels in the ninth grade after stumbling across a Brenda Jackson book at the public library. Ever since that moment, she has been hooked on love. The possibility of it. The look of it when it is tainted. The hope of love. Strong. Consistent. Demanding Love. To this date, Deshon has novels ranging from the genres of Romance, Erotica, Supernatural/Paranormal and Urban. She is a writer of all things that her pen desires. She writes without limits and boundaries. Freely giving those that decide to adventure with her an opportunity to get something different every time they open a Deshon Dreamz book. Her wit and personality creates dynamics within her characters that make them loveable. The activist inside of her creates scenarios that will cause you to think. The mother inside of her creates strong women who require love and respect. The lover inside of her places romance on a mantel for her readers to become absorbed in. Mother. Poet. Writer. Activist. Dreamer.
I stumbled across this one on Goodreads and I'm so glad I did. This was quite a short romance, and maybe ended a little abruptly because of that, but it had a really well-rounded story.
It's a workplace romance between Synthia, new Co-Editor of Just Us magazine, and Tate, the Editor in Chief. Despite his strict policy of no fraternization, Tate can't deny the beauty of his new employee. Initially keeping things friendly, the tension between these two was sizzling!
Tate was definitely more guarded towards love. But of course those walls come breaking down when he finds a connection with Synthia. These two were so sweet together, and the intimate scenes deliver plenty of heat.
With Tate being a twin and constantly compared to him by his late father, I enjoyed the small glimpses into his family life. And Synthia had a wonderful friend that often had me chuckling. I really enjoyed this one. I definitely want to pick up book two that follows Elliot, Tate's brother.
Tate and Synthia was adorable together I just loved how they came together also I adored Synthia and Natalie’s relationship everyone needs a friend like Nat... I definitely loved how different Tate and Elliot were despite the fact that they were twins but the bond they shared was amazing... Definitely a great five star read and Can’t wait to dive into Elliot’s story
So this is a short, but satisfying read. All I can say is "Oh my Tate!". This man is serious about he wants and what he wants is Synthia. Unfortunately, Synthia works for him and he has a firm no-hands policy. She is new to the city and new to the job so getting involved with her boss wasn't a part of her plans. These two literally crave each other in an undeniable way and it was quite exciting to read how they navigate their feelings and their reservations about the relationship. I gave it 4 stars because I wanted a longer story. There's more to tell with these two and I want to know what happens next. I'm begging for a follow-up. I enjoyed getting the story from both her and his perspectives. The characters had great banter with each other and the love scenes were SMOKING HOT!! Pick this one up. You'll only be disappointed when the story ends. Oh yeah, and Tate has a twin brother who also has a story so that's next on my list.
Queen Deshon Dreamz did got disappoint with this short, I was a lil upset it ended right before the family meet and greet, but it's a part 2🙌🏾. I'm really glad I starred working my way through my downloads, this was a really good short.
Synthia in need of a change, accepts a promotion that takes her to another state away from all her family and friends.
Tate vowed to never mix business with pleasure, and only deals with sexual relationships. Love, what's that? It's all good until he crosses paths with Synthia. He's always lived in the shadows of his twin, since nothing he ever does has ever been good enough in the eyes of their now deceased father.
These two embark on a friendship that quickly changes once her bestie Natalie and his twin Elliott comes into town and they're forced to address their lingering feelings. After spending his b'day weekend with her he was more than hooked. To him that weekend sealed the deal and got him the woman he felt he couldn't love without. Synthia on the other hand was still freaking out about the fact That he's technically her boss and over thinking (as we tend to do). I freakin loved her bestie Natalie, she was always with the ish and encouraged her to continue loving her best life and getting the best🍆she's ever had😜. When one of their co-workers offers to show her around town, Tate wasn't having that. He got her in her office and gave her that act right, told see she was his and he belonged to her😳. I was like, yaaasss Tate let her know😜🤣!
When Stephanie was venting about her trifling bd I felt her. Like why should we have to sacrifice our lives and happiness just so them ninjas will do right by his child/children🤔😒.
The way Tate and Elliott encouraged their mom to consider going on a date with Mr. Darren💞. When she said she didn't know the first thing about going on a date, I felt like Tate, they father was a selfish bastard🙄😒.
Well that escalated quickly, which is why I read this in one setting. Here I am starving, but the need to know if Tate and Synthia blossom was much more important. Being the poetic writer that she is, Deshon's love story are very visual. Syn's character is the new kid in town that all the guys want, but the leader of the pack is the first to pounce. As the Alpha male should. With a friend like Natalie in your corner, you're destine to bring Peaches out. The craziest things have happen after a night on the town. In Need of You is very well written, has a good pace, and keeps you trying to figure if Syn will sink or swim. I really hope that there is a more to the story, because dude is going to be one dominant jealous problem.
Man, this book was really hot and steamy. Synthia came unto the scene and stole her boss’ heart. Tate was the boss that didn’t think that he would ever fall in love and was totally against office romance until he met Syn aka Trouble. She came to work and they both fell head over heels in love with each other. I would love to read more about this couple and read more about Elliott also. Great read.
Ms. Deshon Deramz this is why it's so easy to love your work!
Whatever genre you choose whenever your pen hits the paper or fingers tap the keyboard I WILL BE THERE FOR IT. This was a delightful grown-up story. Little bit of scandal before the couple came to be, and I didn't miss the drama. Synthia and Tate were both adorable how could you not love them? Even better Tate has a twin, can't wait to see how he fairs in his story and hopefully I will get an update on these two.
Not sure what happened because the ending killed the story, completely. It was going rather good with the main characters but there was no true falling action. Just a lot of rising action, the climax and then the book was over. Overall, the writing was superb and I liked how real the senses were. Headed to read the next one in this series... I hope it ends better. 🤞🏼
I’ve come to be a fan of the author, and this story proves why. Love how polished this story is in comparison with some of the older books. The couple is super cute and I’m definitely rooting for them. A hot story without all the drama and back forth. Loved it.
Tate would be the death of me in real life...HE'S SOOOOOOOOO EVERYTHING...I wanna be Syn when I grow up just to experience him lol...This book was PERFECT...and I NEED MORE ASAP ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
This can’t be it? Did some chapters get lost or something?? I know there’s more! I need more of Tate and Trouble😩! You can’t just give a little tease and expect me to be ok with this LOL! I needs more of TATE!!!!!!!
This was my first book by this author and I enjoyed it. It was a cute love story and I need more. I picture Tate as this super fine man but I can't get a visual in my head of Synthia. I'm dying to read more about their love and more from this author.
Hot sex! Synthia and Tate, instant attraction. Tate's mannish, slick talk had me clutching my pearls....loving every minute. I am glad this is just an introduction. I can't wait for the next book.
Tate and Synthia had an instant attraction that gre the more they were in each other's presence. I enjoyed the story, it was straight to the point like a novella should be and has hot sex.
I loved this book. The chemistry between Tate and Synthia can be felt through the pages. I wish it wasn’t over so fast because I just loved them. Can’t wait to read what’s next
This was evolving as a very nice romantic novel that just abruptly ended!! Syn and Tate had a great story developing as did Tate's mom. We didn't even find out how the dinner went!!! I gave it a 3 even though I was/am frustrated and left hanging.
I'm so loving Tate and Synthia together and the sexiness that they got going on. I love how Tate branded her in her office to clear up that they were in fact in a relationship. I can't wait to see who Elliot ends up with.
This story was well written & had me wanting more. Tate and Synthia were definitely good together. And I loved Natalie with her crazy self lol. Great job & I look forward to Elliot’s story.
Cutest couple these two. I love how a man can claim to not know love, until he is shown by the right woman. Syn was that for Tate. Would love to have another book to see how things turn out for them.
I loved the wording in this book and the connection that transpired between the two main characters. This book have me wanting more and I would recommend this to everyone.
Tate is everything Bih. I mean everything! Baby, I'm over here rocking and rolling to Bobby Brown's "Rock Wit' Cha". Girl, this is one of those feelings good books that have you on the verge of an undercover lover lol. I loved it!
Going in I knew this was a short story but right now I'm rolling my eyes wondering where the rest is.. 😒😒 This was a great story-that's all I'm saying cuz I'm annoyed there's no more..lol
I couldn't put this book down you never disappoint, you held my attention from beginning to end. I'm looking forward to reading more about my man Tate 😍
I loved every page of this book! Tate and Trouble’s forbidden office romance was bomb. I really hate it ended abruptly but I love how it ended in LOVE.
I hated that Tate and Synthia kept there relationship secret. I understand about office romances. I really like them together. Hopefully we can get another book about them.
