Li esse livro através da lista de Nelly, e peguei a dica... Simplesmente é uma lufada de ar novo ler um livro como esse, muito bem feito e criativo. Amo esse tipo de história, para mim é muito mais fácil aceitar obsessões por amor, quando há uma história antiga no ar... (acho que é por isso que amo Theodora Taylor, hahaha). Tem um toque especial por nossa protagonista ser negra, ( também motivo por ter lido), enfim... ansiosa pelo próximo. Tem um problema, tentei seguir a autora pelas redes sociais e não a encontrei. E o livro sendo de 2019 parece que ela não deu novidades.. Mas espero que ela não desapareça e nos deixe nessa aflição sem a conclusão do livro não é? Por favor, volta autora Penny Hawking, por favor. E olha que venho do Brasil só pra pedir . Xoxo

Melting Ice
So this is what happened....Ice and Peyton are 2 star crossed teenagers who falls in love and has already experienced some serious life altering traumatic events in their young lives....courtesy of a mentally manic depressed father who committed suicide and a mentally baths!t mother who is bell bent on destroying her child's life...Peyton's mom is very laid back and very cool and a little to lax due the guilt she carries because of her husband's suicide....Ice's mom on the other hand is straight up psycho....making a 6 year old participate in a murder....controlling her every move....poisoning the family....trying to run her off the road...and quite possibly kidnapping her.....just as the two were about to embark on the next chapter in their relationship...even though the storyline is about teenagers...it reads as a beautiful love story...can't wait for part 2....

I am not there yet!
I get the fact that Ice lived in a sheltered world and she now realize her mom, Melissa is crazy. So, I asked this one question, why isn't she getting mad. Ice, showed all emotions fear, confusion, sadness, happiness all but anger. Why? Oh yah! She cried too damn much. Ice's father Charles is WEAK. The reactions that the author has discibe at best are lame to particuler situtions such as oh someone admitting to poision, oh your daughter is missing and oh I killed someone. That why it rated three stars. Peyton thus far is my favorite. He is mature, loving and very passionate. Hopefully, part two isn't a year from now because I would surely forget. Finally, I hope that part two offers emotional growth and strength for Ice and truly want to read that Melissa is awarded for misdeeds. Finally, finally Cheryl is Peyton's mom. Well, I am hoping she turn out to be a "Bad Ass Momma" that saves the day.

This book is so good. I could not put it down. I like YA/NA books that deal with real life. I need part two soon because that ending really got me.
