What sets This Year I Will… apart from other journals to write in for
Order This Year I Will… to start creating your best life one weekly entry at a time.
I am soo excited about this book!! I have a way of getting sidetracked or easily giving up on goals and I think this 52 week guided journal is the answer I didn't know I needed. Granted I'm barely into this book, but hey, I'm excited, and I can't wait to get reflective and look back on a year of journaling, thought, and achievement. "This Year I Will..." is a small purse sized journal filled with gorgeous illustrations, great advice, and goal oriented prompts. Week to week the prompts vary, some repeating to help reinforce what you need to work on, and others causing you to contemplate how you're doing on your journey. It's not too overwhelming and I'm glad it's a weekly guided journal rather than a daily one (I would probably end up throwing in the towel on that). I can't wait to fill this up!
This journal is loaded with so many great prompts. They are so thought provoking. I am anxious to see how it looks after all 52 weeks are filled in. I love that it is small enough to fit in my purse so I have it available to record my thoughts no matter where I am.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book provided to me by the publisher.
The book for review is “this year i will…” by Tiffany Louise, LCSW. It falls in the genre of self-help and journaling.
Life is busy. The world is busy. How much time do you spend on work, family and other responsibilities? How much time do you spend on yourself? If you are like me that answer is sad.
This book is a 52-week journal to help you achieve goals you might have for your life.
It starts with you writing down what goals you have for yourself and why they are for you. From there you have page after page with directions on how to work forward with those goals.
You are to write down your accomplishments and the up and down side to getting them down. How did you feel about them whether you were able to or not?
This book goes makes the reader really dive into themselves and what they want for themselves. You can’t just read an exercise and quickly jot down the answer. Well, some you will be able to but others will take time to figure out where are you going in the year this book guides you through.
Don’t forget to celebrate when you reach a goal, when you accomplish something, regardless how small it might seem. You did it. Appreciate that fact.
I really enjoyed where the author wanted us to go with this journal. This is one I will keep for myself instead of passing on to someone else.
I received this book for free from Callisto Publishing in exchange for an honest review.
This journal changed my life and changed the way I feel about journaling. Historically, when I would start a journal, I wouldn't know where to begin. I never had enough prep work or the right type of guidance and would often give up on the idea that journaling could ever be my thing. This journal is completely different. With Tiffany's coaching, I was able to examine my values, my thoughts and then make sense of my behavior and patterns. Once that connection took place, I was able to start rebuilding my life in a way that felt manageable.
It's a weekly process that is easy to maintain and if you miss a week or two, it's not a big deal, you can just pick up where you left off. As a working mom, this is key. My time is so incredibly limited and I need to find value in how I use it or it's not worth the effort. This journal is worth your effort and can easily adapt to a busy schedule and isn't rigid or filled with rules. It's more about deepening your self awareness and finding a flow that works for you.
What I loved most about the journal was the weekly use of a Power Statement. The moment I felt myself slipping into a loop of defeating thoughts, I would use my Power Statement as a beacon. It would allow me to reset those thoughts and get me back on track. A simple tool, with big return.
For the first time, in what felt like an eternity, I was able to sit with my thoughts and feelings, and piece together a sense of who I am and where I want to go. Talk about a breakthrough. Although this experience left me emotional at moments, it always felt gentle. Tiffany's approach is so benevolent and unassuming, it always felt safe to be real with myself. Because I have so much faith in this journal, I frequently buy it and give it away as gifts. It truly gives YOU the ability to change your life- it's changed mine.
I am inspired by how this author begins this journaling about goals and how this book is a tool to achieve your goals. The author is a licensed Clinical Social Worker and Professional Coach and Speaker. She says, “I help clients move past their limiting beliefs to take inspired action toward their goals is what lights me up. Ever. Single. Day.”
The first part is titled Getting Started. It’s here the author gets the reader to really think about their values, realistic goals and why you want to achieve them. She asks some really great questions to help the reader identify what their true desires are.
The second part is taking steps and being accountable to achieve your goals. She has the reader narrow it down to five goals at the most. The author has prompts to guide you in tracking your goals, with plenty of space to write down your accomplishments, challenges, thoughts, feelings and actions for the next 52 weeks.
She says, the “goal is to enjoy the process to achieving your goal.” I like her encouragement and how she says, “No more shaming, beating yourself up, or diminishing your accomplishments. Self-criticism is not an effective strategy for change. We grow in the direction of the light.”
She goes on to say, “Gratitude is a practice we must do regularly to reap the benefits. We should not expect to lift a weight once and immediately have strong muscles. The more we practice, the stronger we’ll get.”
I look forward to learning how to set 5 or less goals for this year and find out my motivation behind wanting the goal achieved in the first place. This is the first time I’ve had a tool like this with encouraging prompts and questions I need to answer to keep me on the course I’ve set. I’m encouraged and inspired by this goal setting journey. I’m thankful to be able to review this book as it’s helped me take the first step in setting and achieving my goals for 2019.

I received a copy of this book to review. What I really like about this book is the format. It has prompts that are there to get you thinking, to narrow your focus on your true goals. The first section guides you this process and gets you started on your way. The next section is set up in weekly format (52) asking what you accomplished, experiences you are grateful for etc. the last section looks back over the year to celebrate the goals you accomplished.
I do believe this is a book I will use as I have several goals in mind for he next year. Actually the same goals I have had in the past years (minimizing my stuff) I just haven’t fully accomplished it. I believe this book will keep my mind focused on my goals as I will interact with it weekly. It keeps my goals in front of my face even when events pull me in another direction.
I love this book, the first part of the journal really gets you thinking about what is important to you and why. It prompts you to come up with your own affirmations/“power statement”. This is exactly the kind of thing I need to keep myself focused and my goals and affirmations (before I would find myself working hard and then getting discouraged). I’m sure someone could do all of this without a guided journal, but I am not one of those ppl. This book is well organized, thought provoking, and something necessary to keep me on the right path to achieving my goals.
I lost track of tracking my progress within the first 16 weeks. Since I inked in this book I will have to get a new one and start over. Maybe, I should have used pencil instead of pen, but I hate the way pencil feels in my hands.
