Wow, this was intense. Mythological creatures gone rogue, shifting friendships and other relationships, out-of-control snowstorms, the threat of a racial purity cult--and that's just the major stuff.

The Silver Mist picks up where The Hallowed Hunt left off, with the members of The Wild Hunt agency on the trail of a dangerous secret society. I won't give any of it away, so suffice to say that there some nasty people and morally reprehensible things going on. We are well and truly entrenched in this world and I suspect it will take at least a few books for every thing to shake out and resolve itself.

That's a journey that'll be worth taking

I find challenging to rate these books. I enjoy the characters and the plot. The dialogue is a bit cheesy or obvious at times & it’s annoying. This is an experienced and prolific author who didn’t have these issues in her early books, so I’m speculating she is just pumping these out quickly. HOWEVER - I do think some of those issues are probably not so noticeable in the printed books and are in fact highlighted by the (at times) flat tones of the lackluster narrator.

Only the first 6 books are on audio, so I’ll be switching to ebooks now….obviously I like these well enough that I am devouring them at a pretty good clip, despite how busy I’ve been ;) so…maybe 4 ⭐️knocked down to 3ish because of the less than stellar narrator?

This was an interesting story. I love the magic involved. I am very glad that magical spiders do not actually exist. I am enjoying this series. I like the relationships between the charcters of the wild hunt agencies and all of the friends. Raj is a great character that I hope we hear alot more about.

I do really enjoy this series. I am now up to date with audio so I’ll patiently wait for the next instalment. 3.5 star listen. There’s no smut which I find a little disappointing but the storyline is solid. I feel like dark and light court fae will try out to be the “bad guys” working together.

Well things are getting quite busy for The Wild Hunt. The group have still not found the Tuathan Brotherhood’s headquarters, but they did do some damage to one of there compound’s and save Rafe. They also managed to trap an elemental/god wrecking havoc with snow and winter storms.

The Wild Hunt is on the move to find the violent hate group, Tuathan Brotherhood and shut them down for good. They have a plan to send a spy in but the members of the Wild Hunt-Herne, ember and all the gang- that their spy, Rafe, may be found out. As they go to the Olympic Peninsula where they find themselves in a haunted forest filled with old-growth and creatures more dangerous than they know.
In the meantime, Herne’s old friend, Angus, contacts the Wild Hunt for help as his wife may be possessed by something. Can the Wild Hunt help Angus and try to discover what the Tuathan Brotherhood is planning next while keeping an eye on their spy and friend, Rafe? Can they solve Angus’s problem before whatever it s that controls his wife destroys not just Fiona but also the community around her?

Wow is all I can after reading THE SILVER MIST by author Yasmine Galenorn. If you haven’t read this series yet, I urge you to try it ASAP. Its full of great characters, a marvelous changing world that sucks the reader in and doesn’t let them go and storylines that just captivate the reader. If you haven’t read The Hallowed Hunt (book 5) then I hope you do because book six picks up a bit after the end of that one and man, is this sixth book a doozy! I absolutely LOVE this series. It’s right up there with her Otherworld series where so many different characters meld into a story/series with ease and I love how much fun this Wild Hunt series is. Book six, THE SILVER MIST, takes the Wild Hunt group to the Olympic Peninsula and there they find creatures deadlier than even than they could imagine. I really love how the author keeps the reader glued to the pages with THE SILVER MIST. I couldn’t put it down as I wanted to know more and what would happen to the characters I have fallen in love with. The story flows smoothly and swiftly, drawing the reader into its web right off the bat. By the end of chapter one., I needed to keep reading to see where the author would go with the Wild Hunt gang.

What I love about Ms. Galenorn’s writing is her masterful way she world builds and creates her characters. Sometimes the world building is so amazing but the characters are flat and vice versa that the reader is disappointed but for any of the books I read from this author-and it’s pretty much all of them at this point-I have never been disappointed in either her world building or characters. She is a master at both, and it shows in her Wild Hunt series. With a story that continues from book five, The Hallowed Hunt, we are treated to a story that has several twists I sure did not see coming and left me breathless. When I turned the last page, Iso wanted to read more. I am thrilled she is continuing this series and giving Raven her own spin-off adventures because man, she is one amazing character I want to know more about.

THE SILVER MIST is a fun, fast paced story that will leave you gripping the pages until the very end. I love how evolved the core group of characters are with each book and I keep finding new things to love about them. Plus, some amazing new characters periodically pop up and keep the series from becoming boring as well. If you love adventure, intriguing mysteries, paranormal/urban fantasy stories that engage your imagination than I highly recommend this series and urge you to start at the beginning, The Silver Stag, as each book builds on the previous book. I can not wait for the next books to be here so I can get my fix in a new series that is swiftly becoming one of my favorites to reread.

This is an objective review and not an endorsement

The personal stakes help give a heightened sense of urgency, and the book does a good job of balancing the two plots. Given that the hate group plot has a lot of hurry up and wait to it, adding in the second plot with Angus and Fiona really helps things move along. I also liked how we're getting to see Ember's new abilities in action after her Fae coming of age. I also liked the team gets a bit of a shakeup in this one with Angel stepping outside of her comfort zone with the investigation and Herne being the one who is uncertain and vulnerable. There's also a little more dissention in the group this time around which makes for an interesting dynamic.

Every time I read one of these books, I always think that this is going to be the one going to make me give up on the series. I tend to get bored or frustrated in the middle of the book. And then something will happen that will get me to read at least the next book in the series. I may have mentioned this before, but while all of the covers imply that this is a paranormal romance series, it's definitely more of an urban fantasy mystery series. It's not bad by any means, but it's definitely not what I thought I was getting into. The worldbuilding is fascinating, and there seems to be a little more added every book. The characters are interesting, though I'm really not that attached to them. I can't figure out where the overarching plot is going for the life of me. It feels like I just give up on the series at times, but I keep going "just one more" to myself. Which is all to say that these aren't bad books, but I can't quite seem to articulate the appeal of them well, even six books into the series. Three out of five stars.

Good

Ember, Herne, Raven, Rafé, and the rest of the Wild Hunt, head to the peninsula to try and infiltrate the Tuatha Brotherhood. Meanwhile, a friend of Herne’s asks him to help figure out what happened to his wife.
Besieged on two fronts, the Wild Hunt work hard , only to find that the best laid plans often go awry, leaving many people in danger…

This is a first person point of view tale, told from the perspective of Ember, a full blooded Fae, born of both light and dark courts.
It’s an urban fantasy series, and this is book six- it’s not a standalone because it builds on everything that has happened in the previous five books, but it *is* its own complete story, with the exception of the ongoing Brotherhood story arc.
There is a smattering of romance, between Ember and her lover Herne, and the occasional burst of humour, but the story is primarily all about the fantasy world the author has created.
There are many fascinating beings in that world, all of whom contribute to this enthralling series. The story itself is fairly fast paced, with a lot of action and adventure to keep the reader interested.
This is a thoroughly entertaining series, highly recommended for the urban and contemporary fantasy lovers out there.

For some reason I feel like the events in this one hit the team harder, yet brought them closer together.

Herne went to help and old friend and things didn't turn out how any of them thought. The sad thing is that this friend brought all of this by his own actions. So even as you were sad at what happened and the price that was paid, you sort of were also shaking your head at his stupidity.

Angel found out she isn't really made for field work, but you could tell she was excited to try it out. Also a blast from her past came back, but she handled things in a good way, but like she said, she is sure that isn't the end of things.

Rafe doing a favor for the team really ended up in a bad spot, but it highlighted where there might be problems for them to seek out.

For Herne and Ember, there wasn't a lot of alone time for them, which is too bad. Their relationship is going strong. To defeat the big bad in this book both of them had to make a promise to help another god at a later time. You just know that will be interesting.

This is Book 6; it would be advisable to read the exciting previous five books first to get the background, backstories, and character development. There is a useful 'Cast of Characters' in the back if you forget who’s who but binging the books sequentially is best.
Still on the trail of the Tuathan Brotherhood, the Wild Hunt is looking for clues and leads. Rafé will try to infiltrate the group. Herne’s long-time friend, Angus, fears his wife, Fiona, is possessed and asks Herne to investigate. A storm seems to be sentient, hostile, dangerous, and connected with Fiona. It is the Caillach, the heart and spirit of winter. There is a brutal battle as she tries to make winter permanent. Rafé infiltrates the Tuathan Brotherhood, but is discovered and captured. The team must face monsters and giant spiders to rescue him. Finally, the showdown with Caillach takes place and has an unhappy outcome. The team finds out the Brotherhood is more extensive than expected and will tackle it, and other challenges in Book 7. Several romances are developing besides Herne and Ember.

Many myths about the fae

I liked this storyarc well enough, it's unique and immersive and draws you into the adventure. I love all the *facts*, myths and legends about fae, its a huge interest of mine. But there are some repeated annoying phrases and words, a few mannerisms that are just very unlikely and seems out of place and very childish. Something grown ups would never repeatedly do, especially not all characters. Here and there are these hang-up words many authors have as well as the very unused complicated weird words barely even a scientist would use. Really odd, because they are very unnecessary and clashes with it all. All these things together are enough to be noticed and gives a slight sort of stutter to the flow, you don't want to read on without pauses due to the annoyances. It really should have been through betareads both once and twice to catch these things. It drags down the overall stars

Another great book in this series!

I am really loving Ember and all the gang.

You really should read these in order, I believe I missed one, even though it said this is the next in the series because it referenced something that happened in the next book in the series Witching Hour. So I am assuming I read them out of order. I just read Witching Hour which is meant to be book 7, but I think it should be in between 5 and 6. That is just my opinion mind you, and the part referenced wasn't a huge deal but when I read about it in this book I was oh that would have been an interesting tale, and then as I read book 7 I read about the incident and thought hey that isn't supposed to be after the last book.

All in all another great read with fabulous characters by Yasmine Galenorn.

I have enjoyed every novel in The Wild Hunt series by Yasmine Galenorn and THE SILVER MIST has quickly become my favorite. Yasmine Galenorn is a pro at world building and her characters quickly become friends because they are so perfectly fleshed out. Flaws and strengths, intelligence, wit, humor, and hidden depths make each re-occurring character a pleasure to get to know. The storylines are always compelling, filled with twists and turns that keep me up reading way past my bedtime. THE SILVER MIST by Yasmine Galenorn is a triumph! Read it, read it now!

Excellent!!!

The Silver Mist was a great read. Hern receives a call from an old friend and The Wild Hunt go to his aide. But in the same breath they are all working another case that is putting Rafe aka Angels boyfriend in danger. It's a race against time trying to locate the Tuathan Brotherhood and Rafe. And helping out a friend. There is so much they could all loose...

I love how every new character that comes along is so very well explained. This series has one of the best world building and depth of characters I have read.

I enjoyed the book but felt the story line really jumped around, so many things happening. They get one thing taken care of and two more crisis jump up. So much going on but I will continue to the next book because It does keep you wondering who is at the bottom of this hate group and how they handle it.

Into the does lair, and against an elemental force

As usual Yasmine Galenorn takes us into a thrilling world of Gods, elves and unruly forces that get loose and misbehave. The Wild Hunt goes after the Tuathan Brotherhood to try to learn what will halt their troublemaking. Surprises hit them along the way, and Ember has to use her inherited powers to learn what to do next.

Listened to audiobooks. Story is good but the reading is not. Very detailed to the point where you are rolling your eyes. The need to know if you are taking a right or left and you take a bite of something while putting shoes on and then it had nothing to do with anything....(these are only examples)

Quick paced, twisty and a fantastic read

This was a great read. I was happy to continue Ember Kearney's path with the Wild Hunt Agency.
The story starts on one path but the unexpected fears it's head once more.
Highly recommended!

I am really enjoying this series. Each character has their faults (jealousy, moodiness, and the like), but it doesn't seem to take away from the story. To me, it helps show them as being human and has each working to better themselves.

Wow - so much goodness wrapped up in a bow.

I enjoyed every bit of this story - although I am glad that I didn't have to face the snow and cold that Ember and her team did. 😁 I can't wait to read more about Raven and see where the story goes from here.

An undercover mission goes wrong & the real is frustrated. New alliances are formed, family matters throw a wrench plans & a friend's mistake turns deadly. The author has weaved multiple timelines in this tale & we're left breathless.
