Meet Zelda, internet famous cat and supercutie!

First up a big thanks for my hubby for giving me this one as a birthday present! I love Zelda, see her daily tweets pop by, and I had to have this book when I saw it come out. It looked adorable, fun, hilarious, and cattastic.

In this book we get to meet Zelda, the internet famous cat with her huge startled/derpy eyes. We see her go on a dating site, first in the hopes of netting some yummy fishes, second dating with some hot cats in the neighbourhood (which had some lovely and weird results). But Zelda also tells us about her humans, how she got to live with them, gives advice to other cats (and apparently a human who managed to send a letter) on their humans which had me laughing especially the pregnancy one, she gives us advice on various things one can do in their home (yes, their), like have you tried ironing board surfing which is not easy but oh so much fun? Or yoga which also means helping out your human if they try yoga. There is a lot to this book I won’t tell you everything otherwise the fun is gone and we don’t want that, do we?

The book also has illustrations and photographs of Zelda. I loved seeing those.. but I wouldn’t have minded more! Maybe at the end a photo album? How she first was when she arrived at her new home and then she her grow up and get more quirky.

I had fun reading it, however, one little thing, it did get a bit repetitive at times. It was a bit of the same pattern throughout the book and I would have liked it to be a bit more random.

I was a bit confused by one part. The night part. In which Zelda claims that she cannot see well in the dark and is struggling? But I thought cats could see pretty well in the dark? I have yet to see a cat who stumbles around in the dark or has a hard time finding its place.

But all in all, this was a delightful book which had me laughing and awwing. At times she was a bit harsh towards her humans, but in general she seems like a sweet kitty. I definitely give some plus points to the cover + the colour of it.
I would highly recommend this funny book. If you are a fan of Zelda (like me) you will love it, but if you are new I am sure Zelda will capture your heart and in the end you will be, just like me, looking at her pictures forever.

For a book about Zelda, it didn't have nearly enough Zelda in it. It needs more Zelda pictures and poems!

Love cats? Live with a cat or cats? Then, get this book! It's very funny and highly entertaining and written by Zelda the curious cat (with a little help from her owner Matt Taghioff!). I recognise my own cat's behaviour here. Right on the money, Zelda! Here's an example from Zelda:

HOUSEFLIES
Every so often you'll get lucky and find one sleeping on your windowsill, but your typical housefly hunt demands speed and dexterity. Soon as you encounter one, follow my easy step-by-step guide to make sure your don't miss out.

1. Crouch down into the I'm about to jump position
2. Wait for a fly to pass over your head
3. Jump as high as you can and take a wild swipe

Repeat this process until you feel a tingling sensation between your paws.

Quickly transfer the fly to your mouth, but don't start chewing yet! You'll not. only get a buzz, but also a free electric toothbrush.

Priceless!

Writing this review for my cats, Persephone and Ozzie whose paws keep pushing extra keys when they try to write their review. They ordered this book after following Curious Zelda for quite some time on Twitter. When it arrived, it was even better than they expected. It's witty, the essays show off her sassy personality, and the poems as always are spot on purrfect. The whole thing is rounded out with pictures of the star herself and many drawings. We could not be more impressed or entertained with Zelda's first published title. We hope it is the first of many and we recommend this to absolutely everyone who has ever seen a cat before or has any sense of humour!

I follow Zelda on twitter so when the book came out I was super eager to get it and I was not disappointed in any way

It came on a Tuesday and by Wednesday I had it all read just couldn't put it down.

I expected it would be a whole bunch of photos and some poetry but it was poetry and stories that kept me pretty entertained.

Who knew a cat could be so witty and have such an amazing perspective on us humans.

So it's well worth it's price and your time.

About the Book: This is a tale of a life of a cat, the hardships and the joys. From witty poetry on house appliances, to prose on training your staff, and positive reinforcement shown via gifts. From helping other cats and staff in need of help, to maintaining healthy life, aka how to utilize your home to keep in shape.

My Opinion: This is a very cozy and humorous read, all written from Zelda’s perspective in prose, poetry, letters, and chat messages. It was interesting, heartwarming and very funny at times. Definitely a wonderful read to just rest with.

Cute and sweet--nice to have as a pick me up book that you read a few pages of when you're feeling down, or for a younger reader. Not exactly a book you sit down and read straight through, but it isn't meant to be. If you're most interested in pictures and poems by Zelda, her Twitter is the place to go

Such an awesome book! Zeldas owner has written so many poems, stories and quips. The book is bigger than you think, and is so entertaining.

Such a lovely light hearted read, if my cats wrote a book then this is what they'd put! Perfectly captures a typical cats behaviour.

Hoping for a sequel from Zelda.

This book has EVERYTHING! Career advice. Human relations. Space travel. Recipes. Dating adventures. Poetry. And a very curious British cat named Zelda. And more cat-themed and other puns than individual hairs on my cat. It was a great escape from the current horrors of reality.

It is cute, creative and funny. Maybe the problem is me; as a Twitter fan I was expecting more poetry and pictures and less text. I loved the graphic part. I only wish there was more.

Let me tell you Zelda is one witty floof. From ways to train your human to cat exercise routines that include scaling the curtains, Zelda tells all. My two black cats, Mario and Luigi, are getting way too many good pointers in their young years. This is a great gift for cat lovers out there or a treat to buy for yourself. This book is now our sole coffee table book - the cats are very proud to have it displayed.

I’ve been following Zellie’s adventures on Twitter for quite some time. Her ability to assess her surroundings and so eloquently create beautiful humorous poetry is unprecedented. This book was certainly no disappointment.
My cat and I have been fighting over who gets to read it but we’ve both thoroughly enjoyed it several times now! Zelda is the next literary genius-human or a feline. This book will just make you so happy.

I have been following Curious Zelda on Instagram and was so excited to order her book. I love the little poems, accompanied by clever drawings and descriptions of Zelda's life with her humans.
Zelda's startled expression is endearing, and her story is so fun. I highly recommend this book for humans, little humans, and cats. My cat Yuki Delight is a big fan of Zelda.

Provede nás všemi slastmi i strastmi jejího života a dozvíme se vše důležité a podstatné.

Tuhle knížku si prostě a jednoduše musí pořídit všichni milovníci koček.

Všechny byly čtivé a vtipné.

If you follow Curious Zelda, you already know what the best part about this book is; pictures of the world's least dignified tuxedo demonstrating the thousand ways one can be startled, stunned, shocked and awed by the world, accompanied by suitably poetic description.

Obviously, you can't fill a book with that, so they've added a variety of other poetry and prose sections including a diary, how-tos and instructionals, recollections, musings, and even some dating app misadventures (which I may have related to... a little too much).

The short comic-esque strips dedicated to longer form poetry and illustration panels are my personal favourites - the graphic design and illustrations are delightful. There's nothing wrong with the prose content, but the writing style is clearly pitched to be approachable for much younger readers (and perhaps those not as well versed in internet cat humour) and as such didn't do much for me as an adult.

Honestly, this isn't really a book for anyone who doesn't already know and love silly internet cats. But as far as internet cat content goes, there's a genuine warmth and wit to all aspects of this book that keep it characterful, fun, and worthy of a recommendation to those interested.

I adore Curious Zelda and eagerly look for her posts online. She’s beautiful and funny-looking and decidedly curious. Her poetry - dare I say doggerel? - is laugh-out-loud funny. She’s really just delightful.

So I was eager to read her memoir of being curious and was excited when I finally latched onto it. Alas, Zelda online is more entertaining than Zelda in print. I think I was expecting the book to be a compilation of her best Facebook posts and it’s nothing like that. It’s cute and funny but not really for me.

The book is a black & white combination of photos and drawings, often both together - photo Zelda in illustrated astronaut helmet, photo Zelda peering out of an illustrated wardrobe, etc. There are Dear Diary entries, tales of dating neighborhood toms, advice columns, career advice, some poetry. So, yeah, it’s cute but not what I expected.

That said, I’m eager to see Zelda online so I’ll end this review here.

This is a book written by a curios cat named Zelda. She's a social media star who decided to expand on her ever popular poems in this book, The Adventures of a Curious Cat. In this book, Zelda shares lengthier poems, cat news, advice for cats, diary entries, and adventures in dating, plus more.

I adored this book. I made sure to read it in small sections to make it last as long as possible. This book was not at all what I was expecting! I figured it'd be a book of poems and pictures, similar to her social media, but you get so much more! Fans of humor, cats, and Curios Zelda should think about getting this as a permanent addition to their book shelf.

I was buying another cat book, and Audible suggested this one to me. I realized I hadn't followed Zelda since I left Twitter, and I looked her up on Instagram only to discover she passed away this year (2024). 😭 I'd like to give this book a glowing review in her memory. However, I was expecting more of a narrative. This book is chiefly a collection of Tweets as far I could tell; "poems" from Zelda's point-of-view. They're entertaining, but they would be immeasurably better in print with I'm assuming accompanying images of Zelda's adorable face.

My boss turned this on as an audiobook for us on a recent business trip. I know and love Zelda and follow her on Twitter. This book was pretty much just bad puns and not funny humor. Maybe would have preferred in a physical form to see pictures or something I don't know.

Was really quite disappointed there wasn’t more poetry in this book as that was why I liked curious Zelda. I warmed to it more as I went along but it definitely felt like a lot of filler content. Feels like this book was created for the sake of it and it didn’t know what it was supposed to be.

Who says cats can't write books? Zelda did great. The book is very funny, full of details of cat life. Only one inconvenience: the chapters are mixed. We have a few pages from Zelda's diary, then poems, Zelda answering letters, and the diary again.

A biography of a curious cat and the family she adopts, occasionally in verse form. Oddly enough, this is the hardest book to finish, because it's such a nice copy and I hate ruining it by handling it so much!

Recommended for fans of cats/poetry (of which there is one/lots)!
