Mia has her hands full. She has a house brimming with males with nasty stomach viruses; Father Santos is pushing her to investigate a possible possession that she instinctually knows is dangerous to her and her unborn twins; and PEEPs is contracted to investigate with hot network adventure series “Wheels Up” in an amusement park with a sinister reputation. Although tempted to play the pregnancy card, Mia decides instead to stay in the game and fight for the victims of the sideshow.
Murphy is being targeted by a demonic mercenary. Is this connected to the “drain-game” Ted and Jake have in play, or is it something else? Mia and PEEPs will have to reach out to the most unlikely of allies in their time of need.
Life on this planet is a circus, and we are but sideshow freaks and oddities who live, love, and learn.
“Sideshow” is the 26th book of the “Haunted Series.”
My idea of a great vacation is a porch swing, view of the water and a pile of books to read. Once upon a time… I wonder if those words spoken to, or read for the first time, were the catalyst for the spark that lit the fire within us. To write and tell a story the way each of us does is a gift and a responsibility. We sometimes toil hours with an idea, or even just one sentence, not knowing if anyone beyond us will ever read our words. We do it for love. The love of bringing to light the world that resides inside our heads. It does not matter if we have a happy ending or a soulful gasp. What matters is that we put these thoughts on paper. So keep writing my friends. Keep taking us to the secret corners of your mind. Be brave. Tempt fate and above all enjoy.
After 25 books you would think we have visited all things paranormal for Mia and PEEPS. We haven't. Alexie Aaron once again takes us on ,yes I'm going there, roller coaster of a ride with her book Sideshow. It also touches base on the inter-dynamics of relationships in the peeps and extended families. A great read i had to sadly put down in order to sleep! I highly recommend picking the haunted series #26!!!
Every time I pick up one of the Peeps series by Alexie Aaron, it reminds me why I love this series so much. I hadn't read one for a few months, and so has lost where I was in the story. It didn't take me long to remember, about 1 chapter really.
It is simply such a great series. I love the imagination that goes into each and every book, just when you think you've got a grip of what is going on, another curve ball flies in and changes everything around yet again. It is done in such a way that it seems the most natural thing in the world!
If you haven't discovered this series yet, please give it a go, start at book one, and revel in the world of the Peeps adventures, each one unique, but with a cast of wonderful characters that feel like family.
I have been a fan of this series since the first book, and I will continue as long as Alexie keeps going with the story. Mia, now pregnant again, with twin girls, is still learning about herself and her family and friends. Yes has a screaming Beth in his head and is trying to get her to go away. As usual the humor added is always a welcomed addition to the story.
I read every chance I could even though I had family in town. I feel like the Margins and PEEPs are family too. I'm happy to have some story lines resolved. I can't wait to see where we go next with all the big changes and new babies coming. I don't want this series to ever end!
I love this series so much!! I have several authors that I drop everything to read as soon as a new book comes out. Alexis Aaron is one of the top of that list! I love the worlds she creates and her characters are like my family! I would be lost without them! Read this series! You will not be disappointed!! 💙💙💙💙
I really really enjoyed this one. One of the reasons is the way Audrey reasoned with Mia about God. This is so much closer to my beliefs. I can't wait to start the next one. I hope Gates works out for Mike. I like the closure Mia tried to bring with Mike, Ted, and Murphy.
When I begin a new Alexie Aaron book, I always wait for the thrill of the experience to wash over me. But I was gasping for air as I was draw into SIDESHOW...what a total rush.
Sideshow, like all of Alexie's books, is a darn good story. We see the usual cast of characters, with a smattering of new personalities thrown in for good measure. I especially enjoyed getting to know Seth and Enos better. But the characters are only the beginning of this trip...from the very start, Alexie takes us to the carnival, dazzling us with the usual display of glittering lights, along with the dark seedy underbelly of the sideshow. I never knew what was lurking around the corner, but I knew whatever it was, it would completely pull me in. There are a vast array of "rides" and quirky characters to keep us totally hooked from the beginning to the end.
I always approach a new Alexie Aaron adventure with great anticipation of the exciting experience I know I'm going to have. However, SIDESHOW is much more than that...be prepared for ride of your life!
With Summer gardening, and a busy life crashing around me, I just could not concentrate on the book! I have always been totally a fan of Alexis Aaron. This book just confused me with so many characters. I am so looking forward to some quiet time and catching the birth of Kid's twins!
