This is a 4-book set of mountain men stories for your enjoyment! The set includes: Abducted by the Mountain Man (Erik), Kept by the Woodsman (Saul), Claimed by the Ex-Con (Ace), and Wife for the Lumberjack (Viktor). Below is a review of one of the books as a sample of what you will find here!
*** Reviewing WIFE FOR THE LUMBERJACK *** Heading for the bus stop, Kristene heard a car pull up behind her as the guy from the gas station once again offered her a ride somewhere. She had already made it clear that she did not need his help. But this guy apparently needed several reminders before he drove off in a huff. After an argument with her sister, Jocelyn took off and didn’t come back. Kristene thought she knew where she might be – Arrow Lake – and this was the start of her trip there. She had to know that her sister was okay.
Viktor Kamaz was chopping wood as the snowflakes fell on his hair and arms. He was used to the cold weather and it didn’t bother him. While he worked, his 6-year-old nephew Roy climbed a tree. He seemed a natural-born lumberjack and, if he wanted to learn the family trade when he was older, Viktor would gladly teach him. With the heavy snows coming in, they had gotten flooded with orders for more firewood and Viktor had only two employees working with him. His workload had increased, and he had rental cabins to manage, and floorplan designs he did for local builders, and Roy to care for – so he was a bit over-committed. He needed a live-in housekeeper and caretaker for Roy, someone he could trust. A wife would have been perfect at one time, but he just hadn’t found anyone he felt that way about. He had been burned before and was in no hurry now to go through it again.
As Viktor talked on the phone with the woman who was sending him possible housekeepers to interview, he saw a car drive up to the rental office. His phone beeped for an incoming call, so he concluded his conversation with the agent. The young woman who was calling was the one who just drove up. She was looking for information on her sister, but he could not give our private info on a guest. She drove away. But that night, he saw a light near the rental office. He ignored it, knowing the locals would call if they had a problem. But when he passed a window, he now saw a flickering light INSIDE the cabin!
Kristene hid but the man found her, assuming she was a boy with the baseball cap and hoodie on. She dashed out the side and ran to the door, but he grabbed her ankle and she fell. The smell of smoke was in the air as the candle toppled over and set papers on fire on the desk. He grabbed a fire extinguisher, but the flames were spreading too fast. Instead of taking the chance to escape, Kristene grabbed a second extinguisher and helped douse the fire. When it was out, the corner of the cabin, the desk, and a wooden file cabinet had been destroyed. There was no telling what important paperwork had been destroyed! Would he turn her over to the Sheriff now? Or would he have her help him organize the mess she made once he found out she had experience working in a rental office? Could she perhaps be persuaded to stick around and be his housekeeper/nanny as well? Or would she need to continue her search for Jocelyn once she had served her punishment for breaking into his office?
This was a really good compilation of books. The mountain men are strong alpha types who take what they want from life, but are also totally devoted to their families. The characters are likable and dependable. I am sure you will love spending time with them in these four stories. The writing is good and the pacing is perfect. Grab a copy and enjoy the mountain air!
I read each of these books separately and thoroughly enjoyed each one. I’m coping my reviews from each book and posting them here. This is a great way to get 4 wonderful stories for a great price.
Abducted by the Mountain Man (5 Star): This is a great story that I just knew what was going to happen, but I was wrong. Just because I read so much that doesn't happen often and when it does, I'm super excited. I've mostly read Ms. Kirk's paranormal romance stories and like them. I wasn't sure what to expect with a contemporary romance but suffice it to say I'm happy. I recommend reading this one for sure! I know I for one will be reading more of her books!
Kept by the Woodsman (4 Star): Kept by the Woodsman is an interesting story with a plot twist that I didn't see coming. Tyra and Saul have an instant connection once they finally do connect (loved the humor in that situation and I'm sure you will too). I would've liked to have seen more into Saul's past - especially with his family. Things were only ever hinted at and it really just made me quite curious. If you are looking for a hot read with strong lead characters that get their happily ever after, this is your book!
Claimed by the Ex-con (5 Star): I have to say that Ambrielle Kirk is turning me into a contemporary romance fan. I typically like paranormal and alien romance novels which is how I found her contemporary stuff. I hadn't realized that she wrote other genres outside of PNR. Since I've liked her PNR I decided to give her contemporary novels a try. So far, I've really liked every one that I've read...this one included. It is a little bit dark so if you don't like death in your books, this isn't for you. If it doesn't bother you, I recommend this book. I just love a bad boy with a heart of gold!
Wife for the Lumberjack: This is a nice contemporary romance that is a good read. I love that the characters really compliment each other and in an unexpected way. They do fall in love awfully fast, but that is the beauty of fiction. The child in the story is great too. I love how they have to explain "her legs are tired from working so hard yesterday" when she just can't get out of bed. I can so see that happening in real life. It makes me wonder if some true life made it into the writing with the names changed! LOL This is another book in the Arrow Lake area and although it is not a paranormal romance, you can find subtle references throughout if you know what to look for. I like how these all tie together. Ambrielle Kirk really helps to keep my kindle busy with all of the stories she writes. I am glad I am a Kindle Unlimited subscriber!
I enjoyed this collection of stories. These are all strong alpha males in the stories and all have interesting storylines. This set has four books in it was mountain men who say what they mean and take what they want. I enjoyed each set of characters and found them interesting and the romance steamy. Great reading.
This is a NON-SPOILER REVIEW. Arrow Lake Alphas by Ambrielle Kirk is a four book series of stand alone reads that take place at Arrow Lake. These very loosely linked stories are steamy hot and sweetly romantic. Definitely Mature Readers Only! Quick reads that will spice up any evening or weekend and get your heart pumping.
Enjoyed the Arrow Lake Alphas Collection immensely. The stories were quick and full of sexy alphas and their curvy female counterparts. Loved all the stories and actually hope this author writes more in this series. I love me some mountain men!!!
Each of these stories are easy reads with something everyone may enjoy. The storylines are different, some more appealing than others, but all entertaining. If you’re looking for quick, interesting stories with lots of steamy passion, this may just be for you.
Four very good stories each one has their own merits and each one is different from the one before. This is a well written set that is quick to read, a set I enjoyed reading. I received a copy of these books and I am voluntarily reviewing them.
I was totally enthralled with this book series, it was well written and the different characters for each book flowed from one book to the next it was full of excitement, and a total pleasure to read o had to read it from start to finish o couldn't put it down till the end.
Arrow Lake Alphas, the collection of stories was a great read by Ambrielle Kirk. She did an amazing job of keeping me entertained, flipping the next page to find out what was going on and I was happily reading all the way to the end.
Love, love, loved the set. Characters were great, storylines were very good. Alpha men are my favorites! Will be looking forward to the next read. Definitely recommend this box set.... 😌
