The story grabs your attention from the start. The storyline is well developed. The characters are introduced with enough information to understand their role in the story. It's about infidelity, love, trust, family, and secrets. Michael oh Michael thought like any other man instead of working and valuing what he had at home, he felt the grass was greener somewhere else. Kota not paying attention to her home didn't notice the signs. This book A deals with so many levels of today's issues. A great READ!!!
I promise this book was so good from the beginning to the end. I just don't know if I could of fault for this marriage. It was way too much to deal with. Let say this, Everything that happened to Michael I was all for it. I wanted to just knock him out. That side chick was just too bold. Lawd, I didn't think I was going to like his mama but she turned out to be a good person. I wanted to knock her out at the beginning.
Ms. Redd did her thing with this book. She know how to bring drama, make you mad, wanna fight, then bring you all the way down. You be wanting to have a peace party.
I thought Dakota would have killed Michael and dragged Yvonne. She had all rights too. Cheating is one thing but Michael took his disrespect and ran with it. Dakota was beyond hurt behind what her husband did and the way he did it. Michael was trifling on so many levels. He thought he could have his cake and eat it too but what he fell to realize. Everything wasn't as it seems. While trying to figure out how to get Dakota back. He also found out that father and that Church had more secrets, lies, and betrayal than he ever imagined and that his mother had been hiding a few thing's as well. Yvonne was a gold digging tramp with a hidden agenda. I was shocked at first by her scheming but then again. Her whole aura screamed scandalous.
Only God could save a marriage like this and make a person forgive the deepest of hurts. I despised Michael's arrogant behind - truly he had his father's ways. He thought he was the man and got played big time; his mama did a whole lot of praying to save his tail. I loved Legend (well except for the drug dealing); he laid heavy knowledge, having learned from his own mistakes. Great read, with many twists. Not sure if I've read this author before, but I'll be checking for more of her work.
Just a little bit too much for me. Started out ok but as the storyline went on the twist and turns went off the road. And that Michael, no way in the world he should of been given another chance.
Glad that Michael found out that the grass is not always greener on the other side! The pastor was a low down snake! How could you do that to your wife, son and the church!
