Time travel fans will love this collection of fresh, new approaches to the genre - available for the first time in one complete box set.
Each story in this four book set is a standalone spin-off featuring characters and situations from the accompanying Time Bubble series. For that series, please search for The Time Bubble box set.
1 Midlife Crisis A middle aged man whose life is going nowhere is offered the chance to live any six days of his life over again.
2 Rock Bottom Kay's life has gone badly off track - until her younger self appears to her in the mirror to offer her a lifeline.
3 My Tomorrow, Your Yesterday A man who has recently died finds himself brought back to life - but now he's living his life backwards, one day at a time.
4 Happy New Year Amy's not a fan of New Year's Eve, especially when she becomes stuck in a time loop, living every one over again in reverse.
Jason Ayres fulfilled his lifelong dream of becoming a full-time author when he left the corporate world behind and published his first novel in 2014. Since then, he has written twenty more books, delighting readers with his signature mix of humour, engaging characters, and imaginative storytelling.
His character-driven tales focus on ordinary people who find themselves in extraordinary situations—whether travelling to an uncertain future, revisiting their past, or exploring alternate timelines. Blending elements of sci-fi, romance, and everyday life, his stories offer something for everyone, with relatable characters at their heart.
Jason’s latest series, set in the 1980s, follows present-day protagonists who, down on their luck, get a chance to relive a pivotal year from their past. 1980, 1981, and 1982 are available now, with more to come.

I’ve read th whole of the Second Chance series as well as all the Time Bubble books, I would highly recommend getting into them. Highly imaginative and totally original these series of books will keep you gripped and entertained for a fair while. Then you can go back in time and read them all again!
As an avid fan of Jason Ayres’ Time Bubbke series I was delighted to discover this spin off which sees members of the public located in the area around the original Bubble experience their own individual time travel experiences. These 5 full length stories retain the tone of the original stories while managing to be a comfy pair of old slippers and refreshingly new at the same time. I highly recommend these stories (including the original Time Bubble series) to fans of Dr Who, Back to the Future and good stories in general. As the title says Make Time To Read This...
I think it's important to tell you straightaway you really NEED to read "The Time Bubble" box-set before getting into this one as it lays all the groundwork for this one!!! Both are great reads with extremely innovative takes on time-traveling! The characters are well developed and you will experience some very different worlds! I've read many novels about time-travellers but these two box-sets are unique! Buckle your seat belts, you're in for a bumpy ride!!!!
Amazing series, of time travel, the angst of personal history, and how our social and private environment changes experience. Written from unique characters, over the same span of time, this series is filled with delightful insight. Each book could be read all on it's own, and yet together they make a brilliant story of all the characters of millennial Oxford greater than the sum of it's parts. I do recommend you enjoy the Time Bubble series before this, mostly to capture some of the scientific explanations for the mechanism that transports Kent, Amy, Kay, and 'Doctor' Gardner in Second Chances. It is not essential, and yet this other series TTBT is a delightful foundation to read too.
As a big fan of time travel stories I was delighted to find this box set on Amazon.in my honest opinion it's the best book set on time travel that I have ever read, great story line and the tie up at the end left me feeling satisfied, can't wait to read more of this author - I would give it 10 stars.
Having read and enjoyed, “The Time Bubble”, quintology, I bought the “Second Chances”, quodrilogy. If anything it was even better and I read all four books in three days. Hope there are more about these characters to come. Can Andy the alcoholic rocker be saved?
I really enjoyed reading all of the books in the series and highly recommend it to those who, like me, enjoy a good time travel adventure. Some great plot twists and turns!
I really enjoyed everything about this collection, from the characters to the intertwining stories. If you love time travel tales you will love this and the time bubble collection by Jason Ayres, highly recommend
I like these books a lot. I do feel that at times there's a bit of a 'Young Adult' feel to them but despite that, the author has created a 21st-century world which is thoroughly believable and peopled with a likable cast of main characters, around which he's wrapped an engaging story of time travel theory.
I'll be looking out for more works by this author.
