The Gods have spoken, Demons are uprising, and life as we know it is coming to an end. It will take a congress of four to save humanity. If they can stop bickering, that is...
QUEEN OF THE VAMPS is the first book in a slowly developing Reverse Harem series!
LYSSA COULDN'T be normal if she tried, and when she met billionaire businessman Nikolai, he embraced her quirks and made her fall for him.
But Niko is no regular entrepreneur. He has secrets, secrets that are tied up with his partner, Dmitry.
Lyssa never wanted to be the Queen of the Vamps, but the King had other ideas.
She didn't want two husbands, either, but the King and his Alpha mate were bound to her in ways her human sensibilities could never understand.
In less than a day, Lyssa's whole world shifts.
Literally.
With her life in flux, and suddenly in danger, Lyssa clings to the two males who brought the chaos to her, but who are the only ones who can keep her safe.
Or so she believes.
A third male is waiting in the wings, ready to embrace his new mates, his new life, his new world order...
USA Today and International Best Selling Author Serena Akeroyd aka G. A. Mazurke is most known for her mafia and MC series set in the Five Points Mob Universe.
Avid reader of all things romance, she first started her career as a why choose author in both contemporary and paranormal.
She eventually made her way to MF romance where she found her groove with the O’Donnelly brothers, the Satan Sinners and most recently the Valentini Family.
In her back list you can find some MM, MF, MFM and Why Choose romances. HEA guaranteed!
When not writing Serena is either reading, traveling or coloring.
From the title I think I expected this to be something it’s not
Queen of the Vamps suggests what? Vampire Queen right?
Wrong.
This is a ménage MMF, described as slow burn in the forward -it’s not slow burn either. The position of the MMF is important, its MMF not MFM meaning there is MM. And a heavy dose of it from the beginning which is not mentioned in the blurb. Its set up like TriAlpha where all the harem members are in a relationship with each other.
It’s also Fated Mates which I fully support.
Our MC is a human, a normal human. About to marry a wealthy nerd who decides to tell her the night before the rehearsal that he is a vampire and she is his mate. She also finds out she’s getting a 2 for 1 deal, his bodyguard is actually his mate too, a shifter and bound to them both in a triad situ. She doesn’t get along with the bodyguard so it makes for something a little different in the dynamic.
Contrary to what the title suggests she doesn’t become a vampire, she just becomes immortal.
I liked the way its set up and the overall plot direction. It was interesting and leaves it open at the end for the 3rd harem member to be introduced. Again from the blurb I thought this was going to happen in this book…
Wrong.
I enjoyed Serena’s newest release Stained Egos, couldn’t get behind TriAlpha but I decided to give this a go anyway. I have a serious problem with Serena’s dialogue in all her books (stained egos was joint authorship – coincidence this is the one I liked perhaps not) and it was the same here. Everything is so long winded I got bored in part 3.
Normal people just don’t talk in speeches that last 2 pages long. Or have heartfelt discussions every chapter…
Or maybe I’m the emotional detached one?
Regardless of my pet peeves its another solid piece of work from Serena, and if you enjoyed TriAlpha you will love this. The heat level is insane with the MM
Lost my interest about halfway through. Really enjoyed some of the author’s other books, but this series isn’t for me.
Since I don't normally write reviews unless I have something specific to say, here's the break down of how I rate my books...
1 star... This book was bad, so bad I may have given up and skipped to the end. I will avoid this author like the plague in the future.
2 stars... This book was not very good, and I won't be reading any more from the author.
3 stars... This book was ok, but I won't go out of my way to read more, But if I find another book by the author for under a dollar I'd pick it up.
4 stars... I really enjoyed this book and will definitely be on the look out to pick up more from the series/author.
5 stars... I loved this book! It has earned a permanent home in my collection and I'll be picking up the rest of the series and other books from the author ASAP.
I cant remember the last time I enjoyed a book this much
The plot was awesome, great pace throughout and of course a sassy heroine, all of which came together to make a fabulous start to this series. I bet I’m going to buy the whole series and re-read them, fingers crossed the rest of the series will be as strong as this one.
I can see similarities in the characters and their relationships in previous books from Serena but it’s like they were the practice and this is what she’s been heading towards. Every book just keeps getting better. Amazing.
Wow this book was a little bit overloaded with information. It felt like I’d been dumped into the middle of romance at the beginning, but by the end it was an epic urban fantasy saga!
We start the book with Lyssa having an emotional meltdown hours before her wedding rehearsal. She is going to be married to Nikolai, one of the richest men in America. She just found out he was a vampire, oh and his bodyguard Dmitry is actually bonded to him....and her!
This meltdown is just the start of everything that is thrown at Lyssa in this book. She is strong and fierce and learns to roll with the punches of her new life of being surrounded creatures of myth and legend.
I love Niko, the nerdy vampire king and Dima (Dmitry) the fierce and protective Alpha and their relationship, that was established so many years ago.
This book is so much more than a Reverse Harem and is very plot and driven which makes it more of an Urban Fantasy book in my mind than a pure paranormal romance. There is so much going on introducing the reader to this world and it’s history that it would have been easy to get overwhelmed, but the author helped prevent that by having the very real feeling romantic elements.
I really can’t wait for the next book in the series as there is a big twist at the end of the book!
The main element of the story is the relationships between the Pyres and the Lykes. We see them struggle throughout the years. Then we see how Lyssa comes in and how the dynamics change. There is more to this than the three of them trying to forge a relationship. We see that there are other beings involved and how this is coming together is a bigger picture.
I have loved the other Akeroyd series. This one I think I found a bit disjointed and i was really disappointed with the main MC. Everytime she was talking or being talked about she was described as selfish and bitc!y. I didnt find her likeable or up to the challenges she is going to face. Hoping the next one moves on to other characters.
This is a slow burn initially, however things heat up once Dmitri is accepted by Lyssa. Great ideas in this story bringing in a world of paranormal beings, told in 3 POVs, being Niko, Lyssa and Dima. I am really enjoying this, well written with good character development and world building. Romance, action and just a touch of magic what else could we need other than the next book in the series?
Ok, Serena that was sexy AF and the storyline was entertaining, original and enchanting! I laughed out loud and was sucked in right away. I think that was my absolute favorite start to a story I've ever read. I seriously cannot wait for your lovely mind to crank out book two.
Ends in a cliffhanger. A mild one where I am looking forward to the next book in the series. Dina was my favorite and I can't wait to see what happens with the war in book two.
I enjoyed the dynamic between the three but i was looking for an uncomplicated story with fluff and tbh while i enjoyed this book im not in the mood for the next ones. But Lyssa annoyed me at time with how stubborn/whiney she was towards her mates.
What a first book to a new series. It's not the same old shifters and vampires. I'm looking forward to the next book. Everything I've read so far by Serena Akeroyd has been amazing and well written.
I need more. I need to know about these witches. I need more of the hot steamy times. Serena has a way of making me forgot everything and get lost in the world of her books.
man serena akeroyd’s book’s are either a hit or a MISS and this one was a miss. story started off at a weird spot, it was just genuinely confusing, and overall the plot was lame. did not like at all.
So you meet the love of your life and then two weeks before the wedding he springs some life changing secrets on you. I'm a fan of Serena Akeroyd, so anything she writes goes on my to be read list.
