A beautifully written daily devotional on transformation and becoming more like Christ. Every daily devotional starts with scripture and then has a short commentary and prayer. This would make a great addition to your daily devotions, as it’s on the lighter side and not an in-depth devotional. Thank you to the publisher for this advance reader in exchange for my honest review.
The Daily Wisdom for Women devotional collections are by far my favorite of all collections I’ve ever read. I purchase one each year for my mom, and she passes it down to me the next, so I’m always a year behind. It doesn’t matter, of course. God’s word is always timely and relevant. The devotions are short, taking one to two minutes to read, really. I find in this series that I can generally identify with 85-90 percent of the “lessons,” which I really like. I have read devotionals and felt the musings didn’t really apply. This particular collection focused on transformation, and I found it to be as applicable and as a wonderful as the previous collections in this series. The next edition has already been purchased and gifted, of course! Enjoy!
Ok, I haven’t finished this since we are still in 2020, but I really enjoy starting each morning reading this devotional. I have two that I read and enjoy both of them for different reasons.
I have read through many of the days within this daily devotional, and I selected it in anticipation that I'd personally be able to use it. I am happy to say it meets my expectations!
I enjoy that the days are listed not only as Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, etc- but that they also include the physical date such as Jan. 1st. This makes it easy for me as the reader, to mark and find my place.
The scripture quotes come from a variety of Biblical versions, such as the KJV, NIV, NLT, among others. The devotional also follows Barbour's "Reading Thru the Bible in a Year", so if you've had the plan of reading the Bible in a year, this is a great resource to support your readings as you devote specific time to your practice.
Last, I enjoy that the content is gear towards women's lives, the struggles they may have, the prayers they may pray, and the gifts/talents of women.
I really enjoyed the format of the this devotional. I like that is soemthing I can work into my busy schedule. I like the way you are give a scripture then it write in layman terms for better understanding of what the scripture means to the authors. It is great for someone just starting to read and understand the bible without being overwhelmed with large portions. It will easily become part of my daily bedtime routine. It would make a great gift for new moms needing a quick way to get in their daily devotionals.
This is a good, basic book of devotionals. There is lots of quotations from scripture, with very short commentary on the scripture. This would be good for those seeking to primarily read a bit of scripture daily, probably for those new to devotional reading. If you are seeking a "new take" on scripture or more of an essay from the authors, you would probably find this a bit too basic. Overall, however, a solid product for those wanting a handy book of scripture readings.
4 stars: 4/5 star rating This is the perfect devotional collection for today's busy woman. They are very short and can be read entirely in about 3 minutes. There is a scripture verse to accompany each short reflection that focuses on the theme of transformation. I received a digital ARC of this book from netgalley and Barbour Publishing in exchange for my honest review. I was not required to write a positive review and all opinions expressed are my own.
Great way to start the day. Lord's word given in the simple form to have a wonderful day and year. These everyday short message will keep your day peaceful and a blessing. I would blindly recommend this daily wisdom for everyone. Read this book every day for a lovable life in Christ. Thank you, Author and the Publisher for this precious book.
This is a really good Womens Devotional with the theme of Transformation. There is a well thought out verse and prayer for each day of the year that lets you contemplate your life and how to change. Very pretty and found comfort in the readings. Well worth getting.
This book in it's analog format will make a great gift for the coming year. I cannot say that I have read the whole as it is intended to be a daily devotional for a full year. However I will be recommending this to others who would like a simple Christian daily meditation for 2020.
I so am enjoying this devotional! It brings me closes to the Lord and makes me think of the different situations in my life and how to apply them but not only that it has me opening my Bible again!! Give this a chance you will be glad you did,I am!! Received from Net Gallery! I'm still in January!!
A good devotional with scriptures and thoughts for each day. I recommend this book. Thanks to the publisher for my advance ebook. This is my unbiased review.
I enjoyed reading a page a day and reading the daily Bible passages. It gave me an opportunity to read from many books of the Bible I don’t normally read.
