Biográfico Shakespeare

Rate this book
Many people know William Shakespeare as the playwright who wrote Romeo and Juliet. What they may not know is that he wrote 37 plays and 154 sonnets, and that nobody knows what he did between 1585 and 1592. This book is a playful graphic guide to his life and work.

I just smiled from ear to ear the entire time I was reading this. There's nothing I love more than data, presented as infographics, about my favorite person on the planet.

Simpatiškas enciklopedinio tipo leidinys - įdomiai pateikti 50 įdomūs faktai. Netinka nieko visiškai nežinantiems apie V. Šekspyrą, nes teksto beveik nėra, informacija pateikta paveikslėliuose, grafikuose, schemose ir pan.
Deja, lietuviškame leidime per daug redakcinių klaidų: antrame priešlapyje nurodytas ne "Šekspyro biografijos" autorė Viv Croot, o "Einšteino biografijos" autorius Brian Clegg, 56 p. "Daug triukšmo dėl nieko" pažymėta kaip tragedija (kaip tragedija pažymėtas ir "Venecijos pirklys", nors įprastai ši pjesė laikoma komedija arba bent drama), 58 p. grafike Rozalinda turėtų būti geltoname fone, o 64 p. sakinys "Kaip ir kiti dramaturgai, jis kliovėsi istorinėmis kronikomis, senaisiais klasikiniais meistrais, tuometiniais Europos literatūros vertimais, mitais, pasakomis, senomis pjesėmis, kitų dramaturgų darbais ir netgi patikusiais "anon"." beveik privertė guglinti. Bet atsakymą radau to paties puslapio iliustracijoje - senos pjesės, liaudies pasakos, anon. eilėraščiai, gatvės baladės.
