Hunted and Haunted When Hazel’s face appears larger than life on the front page of Stonebridge’s newspaper following the disaster at her wedding, she realizes her days of hiding behind a smile are gone. Gossip has spread, and everyone knows she’s a witch. Some residents want to march her straight out of town. Worse, a few of those are members of her own coven.
Then a spirited young reporter supporting Hazel ends up dead, proving that someone in town isn’t messing around. But the murderer is wrong if he thinks that will scare away Hazel. After all, she’s more powerful than ever, and she’s learned a few secrets of her own that could lead her straight to the killer.
The craziness continues with messages arriving by raven, Stonebridge’s first annual Ask-A-Witch event, and a rampaging grandmotherly ghost. Not to mention, poor Hazel will need to postpone her honeymoon so she can discover the killer’s identity before he gets to her first.

A great read. Although I enjoyed the series, I hope that this is the end as it is a fitting ending to the story of the town, it's witches and it's history. Great to see the characters step up into the roles that they should have had from the beginning if they had had the courage. Having saved the wedding guests (at her wedding), she has now been outed as a witch. Peter wants to wrap her in cotton wool to keep her safe but she has other plans. Like getting her ancestor's diary from the library, showing the townsfolk that she is the same person that has lived amongst them for the past year. Throw in a murder, attempts to get her to leave and attacks. Will the others rally round her? Will they find Sarah's killer? Will the town ever accept witches and allow then to live in peace as neighbours?
Teas and Temptations series. Hazel came to Stonebridge to learn about her heritage, fell in love with the town stayed, opened a tea shop, helped Peter solve a few murders and ended up married to the police chief. In this town possessing quite a few witch haters she is no longer under the radar. Start book nine.
Her first day of marriage is also the first day being a known witch. Peter tells her to stay home, keep a low profile until they see how the town reacts. That lasts a couple hours. She goes to pick up food and have lunch with her husband. Some reaction each way.
Half way through there is a crime to solve. Peter and Hazel start looking into it, but this is more about the overall arc of the books. How the town reacts to having a known witch in their midst.
Really fun and fast read. It feels like it closes the series arc. They encounter a bad guy at the end, but I'm not sure if he perpetrated the crime against the reporter. There is another book, maybe there's another equally evil bad guy out there. If you liked the rest of the series, you'll like this one, too. I give it 5 of 5 stars, for being an enjoyable read cover to cover.
These books are so good! I’m getting really sad now because there is only one more book left to read and I don’t know whether the author is going to write anymore. I’m going to have to save it.
Honestly I had my doubts about this series when I started book #1 because I could not see people killing witches just because they are witches in the present age. Even in book #1, I could see the author building a series where things weren't always as they seem. Hazel is a very likeable character so her story pulled me in. Cindy Stark was very smart to built the series by including Clarabelle's story in the late 1600s in the beginning of each book. Book #9 was one of my favorites and answered most of the questions from the previous books. There was lots of action in this last book as well as warm hearts. I can see Cindy continuing Hazel and Peter's story in new series and please include lots of Mr. Kitty. He's my favorite. My one complaint was that they should of went on their honeymoon after the wedding. That wasn't believable because most anyone would have left town even though Peter is the police chief. I also want Hazel to girl up and kicked tail more often. She could learn self defense and Peter wouldn't have to treat her like a delicate flower. That would drive me crazy. Other than that the book and series were amazing. Cindy Stark please continue on with their story in someway and yes, other locations would be great.
The final showdown is happening in Stonebridge, and Hazel, outed as a witch at her own wedding is determined to unify the town. But first, the murder of a reporter supporting her has to be solved...
This book, though not the last Teas and Temptations book, completes the story arc that has been present throughout the series. Most of the questions we have been wondering about, were answered, and several mysteries were solved. It was an enjoyable, quick read, though I did note a couple of inconsistencies, it didn’t detract from the overall story. I highly recommend the series as a set of cozy mysteries that individually can help while away an hour or two, while you sip a cup (or glass) of tea!
Again I've in love with my pick of books to and Cindy's good at what makes it fun to a very good writer!!!!
Looking for more to come from cindy waiting to read next great book in her area of writing!!!keep up the great writing cindy and keep us posted and see you soon in your writing g
This series is different from many cozy mysteries in many ways. The witch characteristics in fear of persecution as their ancestors faced. The healing of the town's past and prejudices is the driving force of the main character. Of course there is murder and mayhem to be solved along the way. I highly recommend this book and the entire series.
Hazel, a witch and a newlywed, has just been revealed to the folks of Stonebridge. The story breaks in the local paper and some want to run her out of town. A reporter who supports Hazel ends up dead. Hazel postpones her honeymoon to uncover who the murderer is. This book wasn’t as fun as the others, but I still enjoyed reading it.
I think I held my breath through most of the book. I was so on edge! Hazel and Peter really had a tough time after Hazel was outed as a witch. But she did have the prophecy behind her, not that it helped much in the beginning. At least Mr. Kitty is a fantastic 300 year old familiar! He really saves the day!
Nefarious Nine (Teas and Temptations Book 9) by Cindy Stark. Hazel has been outed as a witch so a question and answer with a witch seems like a good idea and quite a few people are reassured but the hard headed will never accept witches. Then Hazel is kidnapped and thrown into the lake but her grandmother Clarabelle is watching over her.
I was super tense reading this story because I knew things in town were coming to a head. I think Cindy did a great job with the entire series and it ended up being a wonderful read. Very good!
Solid finish that wrapped eveything up. A couple of the dangling story lines were abruptly wrapped (Polly), but at least all the questions were answered. Maybe we can get some updates from Fauna's stories.
Read all 9 books, really like the story arcs. Also a great message for the times we're currently in about living in a divided society and the courage to try to close the divide.
Series get my interest all the way through as soon as I finished 1 I had to start the other.I love the way the characters float from 1 book to the next.Thank you For all your work you put in the books..
I'm not saying I believe in witches because I don't. But I do believe in God. So asking him for help witch might not come right a way. But you have the best person for help.
One big moment after another. The action never stops, the danger is palpable, it hangs on the air like smog. So excellent and chilling start to finish.
This was the perfect book, I can't wait to see the characters continue to grow and share their heritage with the community. The growth is amazing to read.
Will the Coven vote to make Hazel leave the town of Stonebridge? Who murdered the reporter? This ninth book in this series answers these question. Another fun read.
Well the cat is out of the bag and the entire town of Stonebridge knows Hazel is a witch. And of all days, it happened on her wedding day. Hazel needs protection ASAP. The town that once embraced her has, just as quickly, turned against her. Prior to Hazel being outed, she and Peter, her new husband and Stonebridge's current Chief of Police, were on a mission to bring the townspeople together. To heal the town that once persecuted witches, including Hazel's ancestor Clarabelle. Things weren't looking good. There were too many townspeople that feared witches based on years of being taught that all witches were evil. Hazel lived among them for a year and they never suspected. Hazel needed them to remember, that up until a few days ago, she was no different than them, well maybe a little, but she didn't change from who they originally thought she was. She was still the same person who ran the tea shop and visited with them daily. When a supporter of Hazel's is murdered, all bets are off. Amidst the rumors of more witches amongst them, the town becomes more and more divided. Something needs to change before anyone else is hurt. The witches remain in hiding and the hunters are out for revenge with Hazel at the top of their list. I 💓💓💓 THIS SERIES ! THE STORIES. THE CHARACTERS. ALL OF IT. I CAN'T BELIEVE THIS IS THE NINTH BOOK IN THE SERIES ! I NEED MORE 💕 I'M NOT READY FOR HAZEL AND PETER'S STORY TO BE OVER ! I HAVE GROWN FOND OF STONEBRIDGE AND ALL THE WITCHES THAT LIVE THERE ! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS SERIES ! ! ! A DEFINITE ONE-CLICK ! ! !
