I got this book just as I got my first metal detector. I have not used the detector yet, but I think I'm ready! I loved how easy this book was to understand. Most of all, I have gotten a few other detectorist books and this one is the only one that doesn't have numerous spelling and grammar errors that tweak my brain while reading. I know that isn't important to a lot of people, but it really affects my enjoyment of something I read. Definitely recommend!
As a neofite detector myself, I looked online for information about detecting, detectors and related information. This is a great starters guide to the "sport" of metal detecting, and will open up this fun pastime for anyone who's interested, at whatever level of interest. Thanks, Mary, for sharing your experience and knowledge to newcomers in the field of detecting!
A great, easy-to-read, basic guide to metal detecting. Author includes MD feature recommendations, but not necessarily a specific machine. I'm glad I read and am super excited to get treasure hunting!
