i get that shirou has an obsession with cute things, but honestly he and usami can both get snatched up. they were the cutest pair of lovebirds! 100% they’d hate to see me coming if i were a character in this lmaooo
I loved this story! Shapeshifting beast-men and a society where the herbivores were often at risk of being subjugated by carnivores was the backdrop for this story. Students Shirou (white wolf) and Kuroto (flopsy eared bunny) were the MCs who were drawn to each other despite any expected prejudice. They were both adorable, I could happily keep reading stories set in this world.
This was SOOOO adorable. I didn't expect that! Based on the cover, I thought it would be a shifter spicy manga which it was too, but it does have many cute moments as well. Plus the vibes are soft too because the main leads are both very blushy and shy in a way and while one of them is a wolf and a dominant type of character, he loves cute things and doesn't want to act up on his carnivore side when it comes to Usami.
When they shift, their animal personas are so cute omg even when Shirou shifted!? His wolf is so cute, when his tail moves whenever he is happy with Usami? OH ADORABLE.
The cutest shit in the universe. Wolf-boy Shirou is such a gentle simp for Usami, who’s a soft-spoken but strong-willed bunny with permanent bedroom eyes. Their relationship is so sweet and there are absolutely zero red flags or consent issues to worry about. I love them so much, I’d read 100 chapters of them just living their lives.💗
This was a (literal) fluffy romance between half human/half animal characters who should be natural predator and prey, but instead are so gentle and caring with each other. Their animal forms are adorable, and so is their relationship. I hope the sequel/companion manga gets released in English too.
Maybe I'm an omegaverse girlie. I tend to enjoy stories about hybrids anyway as I used to always read or find things with a hybrid/omegaverse aspect on Wattpad or Tumblr.
Truthfully, I bought this from the cover because of Usami (the rabbit hybrid). I think that this story, as cute as the romance was, actually had a lot of good points demonstrated through the characters.
In this universe, the predator-prey dynamic doesn't fully exist but there is a sense of dominance over the herbivores, leading to an issue with sexual offenses. Truthfully, what came to mind was the sexual violence we face in our world and how there are some men who want to dominate over women.
I'm not sure if that was the author's original meaning but it felt like an underlying meaning. Plus, with how the author used Usami and Shirou's forming relationship, I viewed it as the author saying that we as a collective can make a change within the world. Shirou is a wolf, a dominant wolf hybrid with pure wolf blood. Usami is a bunny hybrid, the complete polar opposite of Shirou. Yet, no one will hurt Usami with Shirou around. Shirou is making a difference because of how he is showing that not all carnivore hybrids are hostile.
I think that even if the romance wasn't in this book, there would still be a massive underlying meaning about our society and we have the power to change what we desire to change within our society.
Lovely story about inequality, fear, personal change, and trust. In a world of half-humans with animal forms, carnivores let their predatory instincts manifest as lust of herbivores, which leads to a lot of sexual harrasment that everyone seems to take for granted. Predators don’t even try to curb their behaviour.
High schooler Shirou is a wolf who loves cute things, especially his school mate Usami, a bunny. But his attempt to approach Usami makes Usami fear him, as he accidentally harrasses Usami. Shirou realises for the first time that herbivores truly fear predators who make their lives difficult. While he isn’t one to harass herbivores, he decides to change his behaviour in order to gain Usami’s trust.
This is a stand-alone high school romance, though there appears to be other stories set in the same school that I hope will be translated too. It’s cute and awkward, as it should be, with some graphic scenes as well. Shirou and Usami end in a good place, but the world remains the same, so they probably won’t have an easy time in the future. But at least Usami has Shirou there to protect him.
Illustrations were good and cute, but once again I’m left to wonder why these human-animal hybrids have two sets of ears…
I'm not a huge fan of omegaverse books, but this one is a bit different. It's not quite a shifter book either in the common western sense. The premise of this alternate universe is that animals have "higher evolved" and can take human form. There are carnivores and herbivores, the carnivores having a reputation for "taking" the herbivores. Our MC's are Shirou (a wolf) and Kuroto (a lop ear bunny). Shirou loves cute things (including Kuroto) and makes it his mission to protect him from other predators. Some walking eachother home scenes later and Kuroto goes into heat. This is the only Omegaverse like point since male rabbits don't ovulate and are technically "in heat" 24/7. There is no mention of mpreg throughout the story either, so it's rather just a borrowed plot device to release the characters from responsibility of choosing to have sex, which is one of those weird things that happens in romances. Overall the art is very nice, and the animal forms are super cute as are the chibi forms.
Shirou (a wolf) is in love with Usami (a rabbit), but there's this beast-man hierarchy where apex predators (and predators in general) are over herbivores because there's some primal instinct to "dominate".
But Shirou does is best to suppress that instinct and prove to Usami that he's not a bad guy. This includes helping when he's sick and protecting him from other carnivores that want to take advantage of Usami (also, trigger warning for an almost rape, it doesn't happen, thankfully, just be aware) and Usami does grow to trust him and they become... friends? ...a couple?
The Usami goes into heat, Shirou takes him home, one thing leads to another and Shirou... kinda assaults Usami. Now... Usami was into it (even before the heat) and the two of them talk it out and apologize and admit that they love each other and it's pretty much happy gay ever after.
I mean... they make a cute couple and I'm glad it worked out, but I would've preferred if Shirou come back to his senses when Usami said "wait"
CW for stalking, non-consent touching, on-page sex scenes (this review will not have names bc I already forgotten them)
I'm a fan of animal-human hybrids, and this one-shot gave them the ability to fully turn into their assigned animal (usually when they are weak). The romance felt very one-side outside of learning about why the bunny boy has trouble opening up to anyone. Most of the feelings/growth felt to be with the wolf boy. I did love the friendship between the wolf boy and his (cheetah?) classmate, they had great banter and care. Bunny boy was cute, I liked his shyness. I wish he had more of a growth though. His big moment didn't happen until the last pages with his confession. Of course, with a one-shot, there is only so much growth character can have, especially in a short one-shot. Also, not sure if this was something the author didn't talk about, but Bunny boy goes in heat and made me think for a second I was reading an omega verse manga. But there was no terms or conclusions showing that this world was omega verse. (Also also, the sex scenes are ghost-penis censored.)
This book was so enjoyable to say the least. That only was the bunny, witty with dry sense of humor. He was also smart enough to see through some of the crap that other people are doing in this book. It is an Omega verse, but it makes it very simple to understand the Omega verse. A very quick read and I love how the characters treat what another period I really like the couple and if they were to do a spin off, I would hope it would be for the two friends because they deserve glory as well. And I’d be curious to know what their partners look like.
If you’re in the market for a sweet, wholesome, and adorable beast people story, stop looking. This is the one!
This manga went above and beyond to deliver what it promised. The world-building was solid, the pacing and development were great, the art was gorgeous, the chemistry oozed off the pages, and the romance was done well!
Who is this manga for This one is perfect for fans of hybrids and are looking for a story that feels soft and consensual!
BL is no stranger to anthropomorphic characters and settings. Give me some sexual tension between sexy cat boys any day - what? Don’t act so surprised, you know what we’re into. We all know that cute stuff is hard to resist, so it makes sense that we would flock toward cute plush, cute figures, cute characters and especially cute fluffy bunny rabbits. Don’t judge, just join in...
They are sooooo adorable! It's a cute story about a wolf and rabbit getting close even though their species are known to be predator and prey. Love how our fox thinks he is good at hiding when making sure Usami gets home safely.
I have a feeling his brothers are going to try and get closer to Usami just to get a reaction out of him. If I remember correctly this has another volume or two in Japanese, so hopefully we get another volume to see more of these two!
We also get to see both of them in their animal forms 😍 -BL -Green flag -Fox&rabbit -love the art
Aaahhh! So cute! Shirou, a wolf, and Usami, a rabbit have an unlikely friendship that turns into more. Shirou has liked Usami ever since seeing his true form and also because he likes cute things. Usami has a hard time trusting carnivores but Shirou eventually earns his trust. The cute gestures from each character makes all the fluff so much better and Shirou just yells out green flag for everything he does for Usami. 🥰

This is a strange but cute story about half humans/half animals, some who can't keep their form. There's a herbivore Vs carnivore twist too. It gives the same vibes as some alpha/omega yaoi, where the herbivore (the omega) is constantly hassled and preyed on by the carnivores (the alphas).
Shirou and Usami are adorable together! Think of an R-rated, bunnyxwolf version of Sasaki and Miyano, but without taking 20+ volumes to get there.
A sweet story about a bunny and a wolf in high school, although the world building doesn't really make a lot on sense. Adorable characters ♥ The sequel is Thoroughbred wa Nabikanai.
Not as good as I was hoping it was going to be. Also I always thought this was a relationship between adults and not teens. This is one of those books that I always see around, but never got around to picking up until now. It was cute for the most part. The relationship kind of reminded me of Kiraide Isasete and something else. I just wish it had a little more going for it.
