I suspect someone hunting for harem litrpg would be disappointed in this, but, it has too many elements of it for my taste. Actually pretty much anything to do with the sex in this series - very much non-explicit as it is. I think this is where I'm going to end this series as a result - not my particular cup of tea. Also... I'm pondering that I read a genre with an entire harem sub-genre. Is it really that popular? I had enough of a hard time enjoying dungeon core; clearly, my tastes in gamelit / litrpg are rather specific and don't include many of the genres.

I like the idea of the dark levels, and I really liked some of the things pointed out about professions in the last page or three of the book. I really appreciate that experience can be gained by wandering to new places - so you get xp by having experiences.

There are other things I didn't understand. The smell near the end - without source, but somehow it ties in to a non-unique quest? The occasional pop-culture reference. I agree some things are broadly enjoyed, but I get the feeling this is a few decades into the future. I'm not sure those references belong to a 22 yr old of that era.

I never thought that someone who loves games so much like me, could hate a book about a game so much.
The first book was less than medicore, but I was willing to give it a pass for world building and all that first book setups stuff, but for the love of good, how freaking slow can u go.
The story has barely progressed, and the mc is so beyond stupid, that him surviving beyond the next step is a miracle in itself. It's almost as if the author is mocking gamers, cause if s supposed pro is so bad that he can't even remember to carry his weapon in the land of hostile, then help him plot Armor.

In summary, this is not a book about a game world with fantasy mechanics, it's rather a fantasy world with game mechanics, meaning, it's fantasy bs as usual, with game mechanics sprinkled around.

And the story is so slow, 50% of the book is spent in the mc's head, not strategy, but monologue and way way too much contemplating for no fking reason.
But serious how can we come to the end of book 2, and he can barely fight, and has barely done 2 proper quest.
It's baffling to me how such below medicore shit have 7 books.

Very over rated!

Badly thought out.

Main character is definitely not a pro gamer and a bit of an idiot.

Honestly wouldn't bother, especially after reading reviews for the next one. Just a waste of time.

I wanted to give the series one more book to live up to it's promise but it became worse in all the ways the first book started to slide off track.

Events unfold SO SLOW it's almost unimaginable. It takes more than half the book for the characters to leave the first village to chase after their kidnapped friend.

MC makes even more stupid mistakes and is not behaving as a talanted player in any way. He keeps thinking about how unique the world is, just to turn back and assume so much (without even checking) because he has played other games. Likewise it feels like the author notices the gaps in the story and either solves them by a) having the MC think 'that's weird I need to check that another time', or b) have characters talk about it in absurdum.

Examples of b: 1, MC is running a sex cult and is using the female NPCs. To fix this the NPCs regularly break out in praise of how different (from other rapey men) the MC is and how awesome he is in every way.

Example 2, they are in a hurry to catch to and save their friend, but is acting like they are on a leasure cruise. Fix it by having the MC ever increasingly break out in emotional reflections about how wonderful friends they are and how he and Pria can't even live without Roshan.

Example 3, (already hinted at this but it really bugs me), NPCs have evolved naturally and are essential as self aware and unique as humans are. Still the NPCs don't even (barely) care about their stats (except for beating the dead mule of making "attribute" jokes), their class, their gear, their position in the team, or the skills they should use. They apparently don't even eat on their own initiative? Solution: more telling the MC that he is uniquely awesome - even appointed by God- to decide for them.

Yes this is a cult book set in a fantasy setting.

Struggled through this but won't read the next.

Roshan has been taken once again and both Priya and Gemini are devastated. So they take on the quest to get their bonded mate back before she is handed over to the mayor. During their travels they do their best to raise their stats so they are stronger in the upcoming battle. They venture into new towns, well away from the dark wood and come across a weapon's trainer who tells Gemini he is a mythic and a shenhua thus attuned to the energy of Enora. Priya finds out she is pregnant with their child and Gemini is once again feeling as though his destiny is being mapped out for him and that he is being used by Zhara, and is not pleased by the manipulation. Their child would be a child of legend, born of an immortal and a mythic. Then they came across Desini, who was a cat woman, reviled in most cities and classed as a beast by the prejudiced human NPC's but Gemini sees that she is strong and courageous and kind and he ends up bonding her too and she joins them in their search for Roshan. They take on difficult quests and attack a group of mercenaries who were obstructing trade and this boosts their income and their stats in readiness for their encounter with the kidnappers of Roshan. This book I found to be less intriguing than the first book but am still intrigued enough to go on reading book 3 especially as book 2 gave us a cliffhanger ending.

I’ve just spent a massive chunk of time addictively reading through the first two boxsets of the Enora Online series. Gotta live Kindle Unlimited as happily they’re available on KU. This stuff is freakin’ awesome and ridiculously addictive. It does just what great LitRPG is supposed to do, set up a logical excuse for how the character gets totally immersed into a virtual reality RPG world and then provide a fantastic adventure for that character which somehow logically provides RPG mechanics (the whole set of skills, advantages, ranking up etc.) in a way that totally works with the storyline. These stories, each of which ends in a totally satisfying “Happily Enough for Now” until the perfect HEA at the end of the last book in the 2nd boxset, were simply perfect. Perfect lead and supporting characters, all perfectly crafted, perfect world building, perfect storylines and perfect overall multi-book story arc. I more than highly recommend all of the books here, though it’s best to start with book 1 for maximum enjoyment.

Live to Learn, Learn to Live

Another great story along the story of the first book. I laughed, I cried, I enjoyed the feeling of expanding their family.
A member of their team has been kidnapped and their quest to save her requires them to increase their levels before being able to make the attempt. While working on leveling they come across another person in need of saving from a group of thieves, that wanted more than a cat-woman's wallet. Then, surprise, they have a new team mate (looks like the in game AI is making that happen on purpose). Then the now expanded team continues on to try to save her.

I'm on to the next book and can't wait to see what's next.

Read in 2 days.

There just isn't enough happening here for me to care about unfortunately. The stakes are extremely low this whole book now that he MC is effectively immortal.

Oh but we get a new species... a cat girl... and by cat girl I mean an extremely lazy Halloween costume cat girl. Ears on a head band + Tail. At that point why even bother?

It also bothers me from a biological standpoint when people do this. Those ears need to actually connect to internal bones and tubes to make them functional you know, and the top of the head would result in some very strange internal structures. Also, think about what it would look like a buzzed haircut, creepy.

Meh, not sure I'm going to continue, I just don't care where the narrative is going.

Okay, back in our Virtual world, controlled by an AI, our gaming expert, Gemini, together with his part elf companion wake up at the village where his virtual life experience began.
Both had been killed, and their fellow adventurer, Roshan, had been dragged away by the Governor's men, with the intention of returning the runaway to the person who had originally paid for her.
Now the two remaining had to gain points through quests and experience, to be able to go and retrieve this missing compatriot.
On their various tasks, a lot is learnt, and new friends made.
Drama and conflicts keeps the adrenaline pumping.

A really entertaining story.

I was really pumped to read this continuation of Gemini's adventure in the game world and expected the story and characters to grow, but although I gave this 3 stars, I was disappointed.
The story really advanced very little and the addition of the new party member frankly soured the whole thing for me. Being a Christian, I was disgusted and repulsed by the deviant behavior between the new character and Gemini' mate. I had to skim past their 'interactions' just to finish the book. Sadly, this will be the last book of the series I'll read. It's a real shame...in more ways than one.

Quest For Roshan

I am a little disappointed that this book doesn’t actually resolve the titular quest. I’m also confused by Gemini’s decision to have such an imbalance in his stats as he has. Sure, he’s immortal now and can take the time to balance things out later, but it seems a bit short-sided of him to maintain such a low Strength and Wisdom level as he has.

Also, why didn’t the group seem to pick up on who had employed Blackbard? Maybe that’ll turn out to be a loose end, but how can a kingdom function if that can be allowed to happen?

The chase continues with some leveling quests

Seeing a splash of Enora’s possibilities as our group grows in power and loot! With classes unlocked through weapons, finding he correct one is quite important, who wants to stay class-less?
We see Gemini start pulling his team together and into the usual classes found together to make a solid but versatile team. Will he succeed in both making more friends and retrieving his lost friend, Roshan?

This one was much easier to rate.

With no change from the first book, and I mean no change, it remains a one star series. The main character is making the same bone headed mistakes, often after lamenting his need to stop doing it. He has learned nothing, has shown no growth. The world has become more railroaded and plods forward once more in plot armor to shield the rather ignorant characters.

Vanilla LitRPG..

Leveling is slow and steady, and not too OP.
The story though is straight out of a vanilaa Harem novel minus the NFSW scenes. The MC is a total noob for being a supposed pro gamer in his previous life. Hope the MC grows a set of balls and is no longer a wishy-washy character.

Another good entry

More like reading an rpg this time around with leveling up and starter type towns - quests. Slowly pushes the overall story forward. It’s a bit much early on with the sexuality - over the top and doesn’t ring true. However that tapers off and the characters treat each other like normal people as we go forward

Great

Great book. It was a great follow up and I can't wait to start the next one. I am sad to find out that the harem elements were removed. Personally I was hoping I could find the original version. You can tell some things were changed. It didn't take away and the story is still great, but I am sad there isn't that awesome harem element

Excited for more

The main characters thoughts and flirting/ assurances to his companions seem to get drawn out at times, but the overall story line is exciting enough to make that worth reading though. Excited to keep reading, hopeful for some base building once the MC earns the quest reward for rescuing the healer

This is such a frustrating series of books because the main character is supposedly an experienced gamer yet makes really crappy mistakes all the time. Either make him a crap inexperienced character or an experienced one. Make up your mind. If it wasn’t for the glaring inconsistencies, it would be an ok series. Try harder please

Fascinating plot twists. Q

There are enough layered plots in this series to give my neck a muscle cramp from looking back and forth. While I still have issues with the authors description of combat its easy to just focus on the story.

Much better epilogue but still loses a star for not being a stand alone book.

Great.

The main is less annoying in book 2. Story and pacing are good. One thing that was not clearly stated, did the cat girl (D) bind to the mc? Or is she really sitting on 40-50 unspent points? Wby? She loves Priya, has no reason to not bind.

Too many pages for no real story progression

The end of the second book and it's like 5 days into the story. If it wasn't in KU, I wouldn't bother with the next one. The MC is just a little too dumb for someone who supposedly dominated leader boards in his last game.

Quite fun.

Good character growth and development of likable individuals learning their way around a more realistic gaming world than most. Team dynamic growth and development. Entertaining adventures with realistic consequences inside a gaming world.

Great second book

Hi really enjoyed this book. In fact, I have read the first two of the series in as many days. I liked the characters and love the story. Give it a chance, I think you'll like it.

Entertaining RPG world read

I enjoyed this book, I play a lot of RPG games not really any MMORPG games so I can’t compare those. This felt fun to me as I felt like it was a fun way to look at the characters in a game you’d play.

I hope that Arlo reads all of the reviews!

Another great story & a movie reference that I didn't know. A better editor is needed! I was in the "bone head" English classes all through school & I still find obvious editing errors!

Great story and keeps you interested.

Makes you wonder where the next book will take you. It seems to me that players forget that while in a game that while npc's are, indeed digital, so are they.

On to 3

I never would what to say. I liked this and enjoyed the story. Sometimes it got a little wordy and I had to re-read a passage. The storyline is so great I don't care. Some of the quests are pretty obvious but that is okay.

A weak 3. Still decent but... the relationships are... shallow isn't the right word... it's trying hard not to be a harem story while also being a harem story (even if he's only having sex with one of the three women)? Not bad but... odd.
