For Him #1

Raised for Him

Rate this book
She was born the daughter of a slave, and I’m the son of the man who sold her innocence...

Catalina was raised for him... Elliot Torres, the man who owns her.

One day after her eighteenth birthday, Torres will claim her, and the girl I grew up with will be gone forever.

I’ve been given a job to do... teach Catalina what a man will expect from her, without taking from her the one thing Torres has paid for.

Her innocence.

But she’ll always be little Kitty-cat to me, the same child who followed me adoringly around the compound where we both grew up. The compound that she has never left.

Until now.

She calls me her Angel, but that’s far from the truth.

By the end of the seven days we have left together, she’ll see me as the devil I truly am.

This was an absolutely fantastic read with great characters. Loved cat. Wasnt sure about Angeli at first. I liked him as a child. I felt lots of emotions while reading this book. Happiness sadness anger. I didn't like Bianca at all. I'm cannot wait for the next part. Cant wait to read what happens next. 5*. Would give more if I could. Highly recommended.

Oh my goodness gracious!!!
by Brandy Jones

Oh my goodness gracious!!! What has this author done to me. I don't think I'll be able to sleep again until I find out what happens in the second book. I was super excited to read this, specifically because Catalina and Angel had a history of knowing one another. I love how their relationship with one another changed throughout the years. Almost like they were strangers all over again. I really felt sad for Catalina because she was trying to make the best of her situation and hide her despair. Angel was at a loss at what to do, but knew deep down he didn't want to lose her. Attraction is a hard thing to hide when two people care as much for one another as these do. It does end on a cliffhanger. I'm not going to give any soilers away, so I'll leave it with saying this is yet another amazing book by Farrar.

Cat's mother died in childbirth. Cat's mother was a prized slave so she was kept and raised then sold on her 10th birthday to Torres to recoup the money the slave master lost when she died. Angel was the son of the master and he was a childhood companion to Cat. Cat loved Angel, Angel can't admit he loves Cat. Then Angel's father asked him to train Cat how to pleasure a man a week before her 18th birthday. Angel didn't want to do it, he didn't want to see the girl as a woman. Now he's gone too far. The story ends on a cliffhanger.

Well what a explosive start to this series,i love marissa's writing and was not disappointed in this book at all.

When Catalina was born she was destined to be a slave and sold the day after her 18 birthday to a man called Elliot that had brought her when she was only ten,she knew no other life out of the compound where she grew up with all the other slaves.Angelo was the son of the master who owned all the slaves and was six years older than Catalina, but they grew up in the same compound together and were close when they was young. But they grew apart as they got older and were like strangers.

But now it is five days before her 18 birthday and six days before she is sold as a virgin to a man she hasn't really met but will be sold as his slave.Angel is summoned back to teach Catalina the art in subduction and how to please a man. This is not want he wants to do as he has feelings for her that he can't even admit to himself,so to teach her what a man likes and what will be expected of her is a hard limit for him.

The chemistry between these two is hot and even though he is not aloud to take her virginity because she belongs to another, there time together when he is teaching her is hot and steamy. This story was dark and twisted and very intense, the attraction between this couple was hard to hide when they both had feeling for each other.I really enjoyed this book, can't wait for the next one as it does end on a bit of a cliffhanger.

This is an explosive start for this series.

This is book one in the For Him series and does end in a cliffhanger.

Catalina was born the daughter of a slave and has been raised for one purpose in mind. To be given to a man who bought her virginity, the day after she turns eighteen he will come to collect her. Angelo grew up on the compound as well, but he is the son of the man who owns all the slaves and he has known Catalina since the day she was born, he was just six years old. This book is dark, twisted and intense. It had me on the edge of my seat and holding my breath while reading it. Grab this excellent book today and hold on for the ride. I'm looking forward to reading book two, Unbound For Him.

I didn’t finish. At first I thought maybe I had read it before and forgotten, but I looked through my records and that was not the case. My only explanation is that this book is so much like another book I was reminded of it. I don’t want to give away what happened in the story to make me quit because you may very well like the book and I don’t want to spoil it.
Also, this is the second time I try to read something from this author and quit halfway through. Therefore, it’s probably just a me thing. If you’ve read her other titles and really liked them, chances are you’ll like this one too. It just wasn’t for me. Especially once I got to the turning point charging toward the climax (no pun intended) of the story.

I'm giving this a 3 star.

I bought the series but anyways, it was pretty boring but I finished it, but what bugged me the most is that there was no indication WHO's POV it was. I had to basically figure it out on my own which is fine, but annoying.

It's on a cliffhanger, which I knew would happen, but I don't think I'm going to actually read it. I'll just go find out what happens and leave it at that.

I hated how women were seen as "worthless" if they weren't virgins here and it's just bleh. There was a missing word which made a sentence not make any sense, but meh, those things happen.

Honestly, it was hard not to get distracted but I kept reading and I learned new words. I like the premise but everything else just felt bland tbh

This book starts of with some triggers and it continues in the same vein, you have been warned. However, if you can see past those triggers you are in for a real treat! This plot is unique and very well written, it’s dark and yet also has some adorable characters thereby allowing some small semblance of light to shine through. It’s the first book in a new series and so there is a cliffhanger! I really enjoyed reading this book and I am loving the fact that I am getting to constantly enjoy and meet new authors through this thing called Kindle and the Booksprout app!

When Angelo's father asks him to teach his childhood friend everything she needs to know for when she is handed over to the man who bought her innocence years earlier, he is understandably reluctant. Can he do this to the girl he has known since her mother died in childbirth, and seen as a little sister? Can he trust someone else to do it instead? A real roller coaster of turbulent emotion, almost felt like I needed to read between my fingers at one stage. Cannot wait to find out what happens next when their 'betrayal' is discovered.

OMG! I'm SPEECHLESS!
An intense nail-biter that will absolutely play havoc with your emotions and invade your mind from head reeling twists that make it hard to put down. A well written storyline that had me conflicted as the story pulled me in taking me to the edge and leaving me there with gnawing questions and a fierce storm of suspense that has me shaken and torn with desperation to get my trembling hands on the ending of this dark demanding cliffhanger. I highly recommend this emotionally grueling read!

I was very quickly drawn into the story of this young woman raised to be sold as a sex slave. She knows no other life. When she turns eighteen, she is going to be given to her new owner. The son of the man who owned her mother reluctantly does as his father asks. It sets them up for a great deal of pain.

It is well written and the characters are well developed. I felt like I didn't know what to expect and enjoyed the twists. I can't wait to see what is next for them.

I found this book to be engaging although the idea behind her entire life is horrifyingly dark. I was surprised by him. He's had other experiences that should have allowed him to see the light so to speak and I cannot reconcile how she sees him to what the story is behind both of their lives. I'm sorry for being vague, but I don't want to give away too much. Of course the title does some of that on its own. A wonderfully dark tale with some very bad characters while giving us one beautiful sacrifice and a possible redeeming hero.

Oh cliffhangers just about kill me. I can't wait to find out what happens to Angelo and Catalina. The love affair the two of them have been courting for the past 18 years in innocence and childhood is blown away and now they have to face up to their actions. I can't wait to follow their journey into adulthood.

Cliffhanger

Great easy read. Angelo was raised to take over his father's business. Catalina has known nothing outside of the compound and only other kid she had interaction was Angelo who was 6 years older than her. Cat was raised to stay innocent and sold off to belong to another. Angelo and Cat's chemistry and familiarity with each other breaks her outlook of her destined future.

What a great start to what is going to be a great series. This was a very intense read that had me on the edge of my seat and I found it hard to put the book down until it was finished and then I wanted more. This book was well written with a great storyline. I highly recommend this book even with the cliffhanger , can't wait for the rest of the series.

This book was sort of ridiculous and I never would have read it had I known that there was a follow-up book. So there is never an ending! I hate books like that! I liked it to a point. I guess the point was when I realized that I had to buy another book to find out how it ends - if that book was even the ending! That is why I am giving it such a low rating. Don't waste your time!

This story was ok. The writing, the plot, the characters - all of this was a little flat. I thought it would be a dark romance based on the summary but despite the subject matter, the plot wasn't developed enough to create that feeling.

It does end on a cliffhanger but I won't be continuing the series.

Loved Angel and Kitty's story so far. To be raised in that place being told or hearing the things they do. Ugh can't wait to get book two. The ending twist on this book was great

Not interested.

Not enough going on to keep me reading. While I think the basic idea is there it’s not executed in a way that draws you on. I was barely involved enough to keep going in this one.

It's an ok story

2/5 star

It's an ok story. It sound good but it didn't work for me. It was too small written and could have been had more of a back bone of characters story within.

Okayish

I thoroughly enjoyed this novel from the first page until the very last. It has been a very rare occurrence that I could just pick up a book and read it in one day; but, I was captivated by these characters and their amazing love story instantaneously.
