The book introduces 7 staircases concept to master communication at workplace. On each staircase, the author gives applications, maybe better named as methods, for practicing and improving your skills.

The author has good points on workplace communication, and her methods are applicable. On the other hand, I find the book lacks a holistic view of both artistic and scientific aspects of workplace communication like the title suggests; the content is organized in a story-telling fashion that you might find it is hard to find "tools" for effective communication.
