Hi! I am Daniella and writing is my life. It was not until very recently that Fiffy and I finally got the courage to follow our dream and become full time authors.

Even though I am the only one writing, Fiffy is always here to assist me with inspiration.

My characters are like people inside my head that won’t leave me alone until I give them life on paper. I really enjoy writing fantasy romances and I’m thrilled to be doing it full time.

Thank you so much for reading my books!

Light on the romance part, too much information about the political side of things. I finished it but I did struggle. The world building part was fine, but some of the situations that happened and how they were solved were unbelievable and even stupid. Overall there was too much back story, and by the end of the book the story in the present day felt rushed like it had been cut off. I was left with too many unanswered questions. To be blunt I found this boring.

Too much

Way too much back story to this. Too much political, espionage type stuff going on. Not enough character building. I really tried to finish it but couldn’t.

Some good some ugh

The first chapter was hard and 2&3 made up for it. But then it moved back into telling vs showing. Way to.much to telling. Like how she love to learn about the languages and dialects. That was a while chapter with not a piece of real time action. I'm sorry, but my eyes glazed over a bit. I skipped a little only to find more telling not showing. Made me sad because the story sounded interesting.

I received this book as a gift of an advanced read copy and I would like to give an honest review of what I have read.

This book is really good. It is filled with twist and turns all throughout. In fact there were several times I had to give myself a break because I was getting so worked up in the story. The characters and plot is so well thought out. Daniella has an incredible gift with words and keeping you wanting to find out what is going to happen next to our main characters Jamie.

In the first part of the book it is hard to tell who is her friend and who is her foe. She works as a Controller at the Earth spaceport Salem. While there she has discovered that she has the unique ability of being able to listen and learn other languages from the different groups of aliens that port at the station. On of these groups of aliens is the Kylen who have been trying for the last year and a half to negotiate a trade agreement. One day she is suddenly arrested by Kylen soldiers and brought to the conference room where the negotiations are being held. At first one of the Kylen men claiming to be Prince Argath began to interrogate her as to who she worked for to know their language so well. You see these group of peoples have four distinct dialects; one for each class of peoples. She noticed when the man took a break from talking to her to talk to another of his own kind address the other in the High Born language she called out the first man as being an impostor, and expressed her own frustration that they are saying she is being deceitful when they themselves are being so to her.

Jamie grew up on Earth to parents that were poor and struggling. She felt that she must have done something wrong to them because when ever she would walk the room to be with them they would leave. She never understood what it was that she did that she didn’t deserve their love. They in fact fussed between themselves never having a shouting match just speaking in normal tones but disparagingly. The only time that she ever heard her father shout was the day he died. Her parents had also began to develop the bad habit of taking things that were not at all good for them and after seeing her father die and her mother continue to spiral out of control she decided that she had to get out of there. Though they had no money for her to go to the schools and colleges needed to get off of the planet she managed to do just that and get through their security clearances to get on the spaceport.

After finding all of this Prince Argath discovered the one person that was in the negotiation delegates that was a main constant in all of the last failed attempts was their main translator a doctor; who unfortunately was doing more harm than good. He was dragged off and now Jamie was the new translator. A job she did impressively well. So in fact that behind her back the Earth delegation in order to save face because of her being a security breach in the first place gave her over to Prince Argath to take away with him when his delegates left.

Things get strange, different, exciting, and unexpected of Jamie after this. There are times that her head is doing more spinning than actually knowing for sure what will be happening next to her. You will be surprised at every turn of the page. This is one book that I just absolutely enjoyed from start to finish and with all of the surprises in between.

Betrayed by your own kind

Daniella Wright’s novel: Sold To The Kylen Prince, begins with an intriguing view, one that many can relate to; an under appreciated worked with exceptional talents.

Jaime is a space port controller with an aptitude for alien languages. Specifically the Kylen dialects. When she is roped into assisting with the negotiations to use the space port, she is being betrayed by her fellow humans and is taken by the Kylens to their home planet. The Kylens have a reputation for taking what they want. She is terrified that she will be made an example of. However, the Kylen prince has a much more difficult task set for her future.

As I began this book, I was captivated by its view point. It’s gave a quick explanation of the setting and dove straight into an intense situation. The flow of the story drastically slowed after this. However, Daniella managed to hold onto my curiosity long enough to continue on to the next part. From that point on I was too invested to not finish the book. In the end, the story began to pick up speed again. The climax was clever, yet unpredictable. Then the closing chapter took a weird sort of turn. It’s almost as if the speed to the story never slowed at all. It ended too quickly and left many openings with many questions.

Overall, the story was cleverly put together and not weird in a way that made me feel I could finish the book. Worth a read, if you have a spare few hours.

Sold to the Kylen Prince
Daniella Wright

Sold to the Kylen Prince has a way of immersing the reader, weeping for the characters: anguish and aggravations and glad for their pleasures, which helps in making this book seem more real for the readers. A book packed with inspiring thoughts throughout, keeping the readers turning the pages looking for more; with characters that are well-developed, interesting, and work very well together. With a heroine that is: sensible, open minded, perceptive, and quick witted.

Ms. Daniella Wright has a writing style that will keep her readers guessing to the last page. Sold to the Kylen Prince has good potential, the book truly has the reader thinking about possible relationship between the two people and what could happen next.

Sold to the Kylen Prince was not quite what I expected from the title, but I utterly loved it. I really hope there will be more books to complete the missing pieces of the story. I read Sold to the Kylen Prince in one day and I am looking forward to the next book coming out from this author.

These are my personal thoughts and feelings about this book and the author. There is a good implication in the storyline of other possible lifestyles, and a need for some consistency with the characters gender and race; along with lots of holes. Which could lead to another book making this a series or even a sequel by author Ms. Daniella Wright. Therefore, I feel that I can honestly only give a 3.5-star rating.

Sold to the Kylen Prince

The book wasn't quite what I expected from the title but I absolutely loved it. I really hope there will be more books. I expect a series. When will the next book come out. I want to know how the Kylen and Earth 🌎 people will interact and I dearly hope there will be no other brides for this Kylen prince. In fact I dearly hope that the next book in this series or at least the one after that will reveal that no sharing was intended but that somehow royals never share or some such thing and that the people from earth were wrong in their expectations. Are there other books already out? I hope so! I kind of assumed so after reading that little expert of the next book or future book. If not when is it coming out? I really love your writing style you had me guessing to the last page and by my questions you can tell I'm still guessing. I usually don't get that in a romance book of this kind and I absolutely love it A great read! Well written! 😎😇🙋 It truly has you thinking about possible relationship between the two people and what happens next. I actually read it in one day and while it was not a big book and therefore easy to do I really want more and I want it now.

I'm honestly not sure why I keep reading these books. Guilty pleasure? Haha. I have read quite a few that actually have an awesome back story...this one fell a little short for me, but it kept me interested enough. I think that the author did a good job world-building, I feel like I know a lot about the Kylen people, but the relationship between Argath and Jaime never really took off for me. It honestly felt more like a mutually beneficial business arrangement. I also felt like the ending was tied up a little too quickly, with a lot of things left open. Overall, though, 3 stars. Entertaining, and it got me out of my head for a bit!

Read in a few hours, I did find myself entertained some of the time, but there was a lot of repetitive description...certain thoughts of the main character were worded in more than one way...like page filler. Not very often do I find myself giving this genre of book more than 3 stars. It's expected the stories usually have some potential, but lack the type of writing that effortlessly mixes romance (sex), plot, and character building.

Jaimie is a human with a love of linguistics working on a space station as a space conductor, instructing space crafts where to go to off load their deliveries on the station. With no education, she should not have obtained her employment, but she lied on her application to escape Earth, where jobs are few and poverty is high. Her lack of education and qualifications is discovered during an interrogation with a race of aliens who believe her to be a spy. Without divulging too much of the plot, I'll just say she falls in love with an Argath, an alien prince, while helping him save Earth from destruction thru her mastery of linguistic abilities.

I agree with an earlier review written, which stated the editor of this book was not the best. There are some gender switches in a few scenes regarding non-essential characters, misuse of words, typos, etc. It's a story with potential, but if you cut away the filler, there's not a lot of foundation to build on. Even the sex scenes lacked luster, the relationship between Jaimie and Argath rushed, and the ending more of a sigh of relief that I could move to another book.

What an enjoyable book this is and it makes me wonder if this will be in our future here on earth, you never know. Jaime Eyres works on the Salem space port as a controller just outside of planet earth where aliens come and go and do trades and repairs on there ships.Jaime’s job has her talking to the aliens which she is very good at and fluent in all four dielects of the Kylen language and directing traffic flow. Jaime is taken to a conference room and integrated by Crown Prince Argath of the Kylen because she is human and should not be able to speak all there different languages, so is she a spy. So after much digging into her life she has been caught lying on her employment paperwork and that’s where she is asked to be the interpreter for the Crown Prince at the conference that will being the next day. Jaime’s life will never be the same now because she lied to get the job, so what happens to her after the conference is over when her boss Moussa approaches her and tells her she must leave the space port but to where ? read this amazing book to find ou more..

Pretty good.

I picked this book out out of Curiosity. It came across my FB page. There was allot of difference of opinion. The ones that annoyed me was the comments of those putting down the book without reading it. Never judge a book before reading it first. You may be suprised as I was. First off, these are not my type of books. Not big into Sci fi romance. I picked this book up and could not put it down. Yes there was a few editorial typos, it sometimes happens. But the story was good and kept me interested what was going to happen next. The story is a little strange, but it is an Alien Romance, that pretty well sums it up. I really liked the Characters. I am reading Sold to the Dragon Kings now. So far I like it better than this one. But this book actually made me take interest in her other books. I say give it a chance. It is defiantly different the the Historical Romances I love to read.

So developmentally, this book could have used a little polish. It has some really interesting and fun to read parts, but they are interspersed between parts that are lame. The story as a whole is inconsistent, and for a man of power, the Prince comes off as a powerless pawn who is over-reaching his station. I was confused about his motivations, like, did he want the heroine to be with him? or was he cool with his underlings abusing her and didn't check on her until she was almost dead? Some things needed to be laid out, like maybe, arrgh, I mean, the King comes off as just a figurehead to the human-hating professor. I wanted to like this more than I did, if the author can tighten it up, I'd be glad to re-read it and update my review.

"We have never learnt how to be better to one another and ultimately be better to ourselves."

I loved the story and the way it emerced me in it. At parts I wanted to cry for the characters because the pain, the frustrations and happiness seemed real.
The heroine was intelligent and open minded until the end of the book she was frustrating and beating a dead horse about things beyond her control. She even admits she has no real say in the matter but continues to go on and on about it.
There where some errors in the writing but easy to overlook.
All in all it was a good book. I enjoyed the inspirational thoughts throughout the book.

The beginning was so dull, the protagonist basically just tells us what is happening. There are very few dialogues, only inner monologues of the protagonist. This was hard to read for me because it was so slow and chewy and boring ...

I felt no chemistry between Argath and Jaime. The first half of the book was so slow and the second half felt so rushed like the story has to end NOW! The ending was also not a satisfying one. It was just an end ... but not exactly a HEA. Also, too much politics. Way too much that I skipped many parts. I had to force myself to read this. Luckily, I only spent 0,99 € on this.

But don't be scared by this book. The author definitely has good works! (Just not this one)

Jaime has a knack for languages. Now why would that get her into trouble?
You wouldn't think it would, but it does and I thoroughly enjoyed reading about what happens to her and why these things happens to her.
I loved the storyline and the way the characters interacted with each other - in particular the way Jaime interacts with the Prince Argath - she may be afraid of what's happening to her but she has moxie and story I he's not afraid to speak her mind (once she's built up her gumption that is!)
She's only one woman, how can she help the Kylen people or her own humans? But shes willing to give it a bloody good try

Potential

There is good potential in this book but it is really in need of a good editor. The guards change race in three consecutive paragraphs, and soon after a nurse switches gender four times. (I don't think gender fluidity was the point).
There are lots of plot holes, parts where the story has obviously been edited to change and several occasions where I just had to keep reading to infer what was happening.
There's a good premise here, and moments of polished writing, but it really does need a lot of work. On the upside, I didn't notice any spelling mistakes!

I wanted to like this book, I really did. As it is, I only got half way through it. I'm not sure what caused it but the book is very dry. It feels like the main character is giving a dispassionate report of what happened after the fact. Maybe it was the authors complete lack of contractions which have the book a very formal, removed air. Who knows? All I know is I liked the characters well enough, the world-building was good, but the language itself was so lacking. I felt like I was reading a book originally written in another language and then poorly translated to english. If that's the case, the author could do with a change of editor.

Argath and Jamie are brought together under unusual circumstances on a space station where Jamie works. She is brought in at first under the suspicion that she is a spy and is kept on as a translator. When both parties have finally come to an agreement it is revealed that she has been sold to them as part of the agreement. They become close as they travel back to his home planet and now they just have to stay alive to change the world.

This is my first book by Daniella Wright and I must say I am very pleased. The story is well written and the flow of the story is superb. The story line is fantastic as well as different. I loved the twists and turns throughout the story. The characters are well developed and they have a lot of chemistry no matter if it is sexual or emotional. It makes for a great story. The support characters added a great deal to the story and make it even more interesting. This is definitely worth reading.

This one isn’t so much as sold as tricked. She is an extremely smart woman and can learn new languages easily. So being on a space port with lots of aliens would make you think they would use her abilities to their advantage. But no. Being a woman and poor just means she gets skipped because she doesn’t have the schooling. But chance or fate likes to change things. Now she may be way over her head. Plenty of twists and a romance that we all knew was coming. But that is why we read romance books for the HEA.

Nothing really happens

I'm afraid this book did not at all do it for me. :'(
The start was good enough, but constantly the book just drones on and on, pages upon pages (sometimes I counted 10!) where the is absolutely no dialog, just Jamie and her thoughts.

The book reads almost like some kind of diary, nothing really happens, mostly just talk, and when there is any action it I felt slightly lost.
The sex had potential but was never expanded.

All in all it felt like 5 chapter novella stretched out with too much filler to make it into a "book".

Good thing this was a KU.

Review for Sold to The Kylen Prince

It was a fantastic story, but I couldn't give it five stars because of the Continuous Stupidity of you authors Using (Ground) Instead of (Floor), or once they were in a Space Ship, (Deck)! Why The Hell Do You SUPPOSEDLY INTELLIGENT A AUTHORS, Keep Using That EXTREMELY STUPID TERMINOLOGY of (GROUND) WHERE IN A SPACESHIP, THERE COULDN'T Be ANY! COME ON, USE YOUR HEAD AND WRITE IT RIGHT! GOOD, STORY, STUPID USE of ENGLISH!

Really enjoyed

I’ve been binge reading all the works I can by this author, I’m just sad there isn’t more. I’ve particularly enjoyed the two longer books I’ve come across. I’m hoping there will be sequels coming out to these books, based in the same worlds with different characters. I love the imagination that goes into the plot and storyline of the authors books and look forward to reading future works!

It was an ok book

I thought that this book was a good start to the series. It was thoughtful, and insightful. The characters were well written and didn't take themselves too seriously. I enjoyed the storylines. Until all of the political minutiae got in my way .I understand that it was for the background story , but it was SOOOO much .
There wasn't a "cliff hanger ", so to speak , but I wonder what happens next

It was good

It was good. The writing could have been stronger. I like that it wasn’t love at first sight. I like that that worked together for a mutual goal. I also liked that it depicted humans as intelligent. I dislike that the writer didn’t go into more dialog with the prince as a dragon. The book could have been filled with more details that would have made it good, to being awesome. Overall I liked it, but it’s not a re-read for me.

I...

I hope this is the beginning of a new series. There is a decent amount of background information given throughout the story, making it easy to follow. Fast paced plot line, and well written. Love Jaime, the strong snarky female, who is not afraid to do what she can to survive. I look forward to reading the next book

Jaime is from Earth, working a space port and has a gift for alien languages. She gets herself in trouble when it is discovered she can speak perfect Kylen. When the Kylen Prince, Lord Argath discovers Jaime he has plans for her. Fast-paced read with lots of drama and suspense. Great world building and characters with lots of depth. I really liked it.

Jaime has been working at a space port for a few years and has learned to speak and understand alien languages. Her skill comes in handy during a Kylen a negotiation. Argath is the prince who is trying to change the way his planet thinks. This story is political with a hint of romance. A nice read.
