More of a booklet than a book, but really informative and enjoyable. A great introduction to Knoydart: if you haven't been there you will want to go after reading this! I loved the fact that as much space was given to the personal biographies of some of the people who live there. A welcome change from so many publications on Scotland's wild places which just concentrate on the landscape, history and wildlife and miss out the people who actually live there. I first visited the area back in the late 70s/ early 80s and then returned after a long absence in November last year. It is just so much more of a vibrant place now than it was then. Arguably a result of the Scottish Government's (of various political hues) Land Reform agenda. Having read quite a few books recently about wild land and Scotland I found this one better written than the norm. Highly recommended - but most of all go there!
