Enemies. Foes. Until one night changed them forever.
The small town of Severton doesn’t have many secrets. One of the few is exactly why Scott Maynard, bar owner and search and rescue hero, refuses to speak, acknowledge or even breathe the same air as Keren Leigh.
Keren has been Severton’s dentist for far too long and now she’s ready to move to the city, escaping the war with Scott and broadening her dating circle in the hope of a future that doesn’t just consist of evenings at home alone with a book, ancient pyjamas and a glass of wine.
All it takes is a one-night ceasefire for all of her plans and their decade-long feud to be stirred up. But they’re not the only ones to be shaken: Severton has acquired its own arsonist and other secrets are being exposed, leaving a completely different battle to be fought.
Warning: contains alpacas, retired ladies who make their own gin and have an eye for younger gentlemen plus an alternate use for a bath.
Part of the Severton Search & Rescue series but can be read as a stand-alone.
A fabulously steamy enemies to lovers small town romance.
Dentist Keren Leigh loves her small town, her dental practice, and her friends. The only problem is the small town of Severton has a shortage of eligible men. And for a woman in her thirties, Keren feels like she won’t find someone to settle down with if she stays. All that changes when her one-time childhood friend turned surly bar owner decides to challenge that decision.
Stirred is a deliciously sexy read with just the right amount of sweetness for a perfectly played friends-to-enemies-to-lovers trope that will have you grinning from ear to ear.
Life gets even more entertaining in Severton. I love this series so hard, and even if you are not a series reader, just pick and choose- you can’t go wrong. You will be transported to a grand and quirky little town where you get to spectate the life of the Maynard clan. The chemistry between Keren and Scott is palatable in this story and the sizzling heat and sexual frustration jumps off the page. Best friends turned enemies, they spend years trading barbs. It’s a Molotov cocktail of explosion when Scott realizes that he might just loose the best thing that was ever in his life. Scott is all Keren ever wanted, but they have spent the better part of adulthood picking at each other, and when she realizes that she needs to move on and maybe out of Severton, wild things begin to happen. This book has it all: hot, dirty talking men, sassy kick-butt women, throw in a dangerous criminal stalking the town, bike disasters, handfasting, missing teeth, and Gran’s gin and you are in for a wild ride. My face hurt from smiling!
This book was fun. I don't usually like enemies to lovers but I was already intrigued as to what had happened from the mentions in the earlier books. They'd started out as friends and then it changed overnight and suddenly they weren't.
I loved the turnaround, the change, the increasing closeness.
I also loved seeing the others in the background, the family, the friends and gran.
And then there's that intrigue, those happenings that I'm guessing are leading to more interesting stories. I know these will be good too.
This book was funny and hot and had so many unexpected things happening!!! I loved to hear about Gran and Vanessa and the Callaghans. Also, love this quirky town and its inhabitants. This book reminded me a little bit of Pippa Grant and Lucy Score’s books in terms of the town, its people, the funny, odd situations. I love Annie’s work. I have loved, absolutely loved all of her books and at this point i think I’d buy her Books without needing to know anything about them, just that she is the author. I’m a big fan of hers and this book didn’t disappoint.
This is one of those books that is a MUST read because you are taken to a small town called Severton and you will fall in love with it as well as towns people. Stirred is about two people who grew up together but something happened and they don't like each other anymore but when the rubber meets the road these two come together like no other to help out their town and they become friends who find they have more than a friendship chemistry.
Keren is a dentist and she is leaving Severton because their is a shortage of men to be with and she has no idea what to do but she knows she is tired of being alone and not having things to do. Scott owns a bar and is happy with his life but he knows he is missing something but he just doesn't know what it is.
When Keren and Scott get together their is off the chart chemistry and they become more than friends. This is a must read series or you could read them as standalones if you like but this is a must read series you have to read. So gone on ahead and one click this bad boy you won't be sorry!
Stirred Severton Search and Rescue #2 Annie Dyer This is the story I needed. Full of fun, banter and belly laughs. Ms Dyer always delivers with her heartfelt romances. There is nothing not to love about small town Severton and its quirky characters, even grumpy bar owner Scott. A book I happily lost myself in, I totally enjoyed the immersion! I enjoyed how the Maynards and Callaghan’s were intertwined through Vanessa and Gran but are still completely separate stories. While this is the second book in the series and has the same base characters this is Scott and Keren’s story. It is a stand-alone frenemies to lovers novel with hea. Scott and Keren are successful business owners and strong characters. They love to live their lives. There are a few bumpy patches on their journey that make the characters endearing and real. 5 stars all the way. Loved it!
Wow wow wow.....what a story! So much goodness in this book. Long standing love-hate relationship=major chemistry. Scott and Keren are such easy characters to love. I was hooked from the first chapter. I love a book that continues to give us more of characters from a previous book or series and Annie Dyer gives us so much of that in this book. The characters and side characters in this book are interesting and mysterious and left me wanting their stories. There’s a mystery that began in Sleighed and continues in this book. I can not wait to get my hands on the next book in this series....plus I’m already ready for an update on Scott and Keren!
Another really good, well written, page turner by Annie Dyer! I love Scott's and Karen's story! This book has it all! Sex, romance, and a touch of danger, all wrapped up in a HEA! This book is the second of the Severton Search & Rescue book series. If you have read Annie's Callaghan Green book series, then you'll get to see a few of the characters from that series in this book. That was something I loved about this book. Annie Dyer I can't wait for your next book.
Stirred was the first novel I have read by Annie Dyer. And let me tell you, it did not dissapoint! It was a great storyline, packed with humor, sexy times, and sweet romantic times. Stirred was one of the best enemies to Lovers romances I have read. I enjoyed the banter between Keren and Scott in the beginning. For a minute you start to think that maybe they do truly despise each other, but as Annie gives you more of their back history throughout the book, you realize that it is fact the opposite, that they have been head over heels for each other since they were teenagers. Scott turns out to be one of the most sweet attentive characters in the book, and Keren finally opens up and let's Scott in. This book has it all! From watching the main characters go through their story line of ups and downs to falling in love, to a separate suspense story line based around events in Severton. I look forward to reading more novels in this series. Well done Annie!
For years Scott and Keren have fought about everything. The two, once good friends, are definitely enemies and Keren is tired. Tired of the animosity, tired of no social life, tired of Severton. But one conversation and one steamy night change everything.
I loved this! Scott and Keren had amazing chemistry and you could just tell of they stopped fighting for two minutes they would be explosive. Great, quirky secondary characters and a lovely setting added to this fantastic book.
Stirred is the second in this series but can definitely be read as a stand alone. I am looking forward to more in this series!!
I enjoy anything that this author writes. I decided to dive into this series after learning that one of the Callaghan cousins was coming to this series. I enjoy this family but haven't fully connected with the characters the way that I did in the other series.
I struggled with the reason that these characters were angry at each other for so many years. It seemed pretty middle school ish. However, once I got past that I fell in love with Keren and Scott.
Friends to enemies to lovers AND small town. Yes, please!!!
This is the first book I've read by this author and, I'm pretty sure it won't be the last.
I loved that both the main characters were strong, determined, yet still able to bend and see reason. A misguided comment broken these two friends apart more than a decade ago. One not knowing what happened to cause the scorn from the other.
I loved the banter, the chemistry, and the heat with these characters. I loved their history. I loved seeing their story played out.
There is also quite a bit of danger and surprise in this book, as well, that kept the pages turning. There are so many secondary characters that I'd love to know more about also.
Scott's story is a wonderful enemies to lovers tale with Keren. Their contentious relationship has been very mysterious to all...even Keren. No spoilers here so just let me say it gets very hot in Severton. The mystery of who hurt Lena and Sorell continues and the characters develop nicely. A very enjoyable story that leaves you wanting more of these quirky people. I loved it. Especially Scott...he was a true revelation.
I was ready for this book before I even made it halfway through the previous Search and Rescue book. Scott's character was the one that I had to know more about. I knew that it was going to be amazing, and I was correct. Every time I think I have a favorite book she releases another. The back story was sad and sweet at the same time. I needed Scott and Keren to be together since obviously I couldn't have him. There is a slight touch of mystery interwoven in the books. Not enough to turn pure romance readers off, but enough for a change of pace. Come discover Severton, and you will not be sorry.
Annie Dyer has created a fantastic world with wonderfully unique and intriguing characters set in a magical backdrop. Stirred is book 2 in the Severton Search and Rescue series and is the perfect follow up to Sleighed. Severton is a fictional small mountain town that is not only steeped in tradition, but filled with secrets. Book two is Scott Maynard's book. Scott is Zack's brother (we met Zack in book one). He is known for a few things; owning The Last Temperance Bar, but locals know it simply as Scott's bar and his band. One other thing Scott is known for this his on-going war with Keren, the local dentist. Its a war that the two have waged since she was 18 and he was 21. She hasn't a clue why and the years have simply ticked by, neither conceding. But is it really hate that fuels this feud or maybe something else?? I loved watching the relationship between these once friends to enemies to lovers develop. This book is funny, emotional and flat out sizzling in places. A few twists and turns keep you on the edge of your seat. Annie always leaves me wanting more and I can't wait to see what is next for Severton and its residence.
I was so excited to head back to Severton and this book did not disappoint! This story was so fun with a few surprises thrown in. Scott and Keren are amazing and I loved watching their relationship. I can't wait to see what happens next in Severton!!
I love Severton so much! After the first book I knew Keren and Scott were going to have an amazing story!!! I was already plotting what it was in my head and I was wrong lol. I also now think Abby and Alex should be together and Johnny and Rayah but we shall see what Annie decides! I really loved this story and the way Scott was oh man! So good! We also continue the danger from book one but increased it!!! Had me on pins and needles!!! I am so glad these too got through their shit and got it on! It was fire as always! I need more Severton!!!
Such a good story. I love the characters, the town, all of it.
Scott and Keren have known each other since they were little kids growing up in a small town. They have secretly been in love with each other since then, but because of a few jealous words spoken by someone else they never actually dated. They became enemies of sort. 14 years later the love is still there and the boiling point of their heated exchanges hits. Sparks fly and chaos ensues, but it is so much fun.
Scott and Keren are so amazing. Scott is a hot bar owner who holds a grudge for a really long time. Keren is a dentist, she’s strong and independent and ready for a relationship. Scott and Keren learn the importance of communication in a relationship. Sometimes even when information comes from a close trusted source the information is not accurate based on feelings. I love how Scott and Keren come together and their bond is so amazing. They might be a touch competitive, but it only makes their story better!
Loved this book! This is book 2 the Severton Search and Rescue series and is Scott and Keren's story. They have know each other since they were little kids but for the last 14 years they have hated each other though Keren never knew why but you do find out early on what happened. As always with Annie's books I can never put them down once I have started and this one was no different. With a few surprises along the way and an appearance from some familiar 'faces' this is another winner and I can't recommend it highly enough. How long till the next one in the series?!
It started out promising. That's as good as this gets.
I wasn't expecting it to take the turn it did, from a fairly interesting enemies-to-lovers story right into the gutter. Jeses, people. Write sex scenes, not trash porn. It's just so not on.
The editing was atrocious, like several errors to a page. The story quickly just became stupid, with too many characters to keep straight. Then the surprise baby capped it. Lord save me from that turd of a trope.
Honestly, the heroine was always kind of a cow but turned out to be a real dim bulb. She's supposed to be a doctor and all kinds of smart but doesn't keep track of replacing her birth control implant? Come on. I'm calling bullshit here. After the pregnancy is revealed all the 'belly' talk made me want to hurl. How she was always holding her belly and touching it, how it 'grew with their child' and how it made him so proud...puh-leeze. And, 'Beanie?' Ugh. Spare me 🤮☠️.
The writer should also check facts before proving her ignorance - like FYI, people can't have 'raspy' breathing or make any noise with a vent tube shoved down their throat. Really hate laziness about doing research.
Pretty lame story all the way around. Bad execution and pointless plot. Most of the characters were one-dimensional. And again, too many mistakes. If this writer wants to be taken seriously perhaps she should get her shit together.

I was so excited for book 2 of Severton Search and Rescue and it was so worth the wait. Keren and Scott's constant battling is finally coming to an end when they both find out why they are doing it. All over some lies and misunderstandings back when they were in college. The heat between this two is unmistakable and will have you fanning your face at some points. As like the first book there some mysterious things going on in town to keep everyone on high alert again and don't worry the Alpacas make a brief appearance as well. Loved this book and I can't wait for more!
Keren Leigh & Scott Maynard are enemies, and everyone knows it, as they don't hide their fighting from anyone. However, Keren isn't sure why it ever started in the first place since they were close friends when they were growing up, but when he came back from University, he hated her. It's gotten so bad, that she's convinced that she needs to move away in order to have peace from the war, not to mention a shot at getting married & having kids. However, she finally snaps & goes off on him, and finds out what his problem is, so they start off on a new journey. They hookup to get each other out of their systems by spending a HOT night together, which lights the sky up. Keren thinks that's it, but Scott is like, think again, because he knows that they're great together now that they got past all the crap. In the midst of that drama, there's someone in town who is causing all kinds of dangerous mayhem which Keren is caught in the crossfire of. Severton is definitely a very colorful place to live, as everyone marches to the beat of their own drummer, and frankly, I want some of Gran's Gin to be honest. So, I laughed hard throughout when I wasn't wanting to really hurt Scott, because he was a straight up douche to Keren. Like junk punch him over & over again douche to her, so much so, that I don't think she made him pay enough. However, Annie Dyer has a very talented writing style that had me forgiving him by the end of the story, so there's that. And finally, there's that whole suspenseful undertones that made for some f-bomb worthy twists. So in conclusion, Stirred ticked off all of my boxes, and I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ALL!
I really enjoy reading a UK-set book (I'm British and there's only so many Americanisms I can take before I need characters sitting down with a mug of tea and wearing trousers not pants!) and this series has the added bonus of being a romantic suspense, though in the case of this particular story the suspense isn't directly related to the main couple.
It contains one of my least favourite tropes (surprise pregnancy and for a frankly very stupid reason on the part of the FMC) but I still enjoyed it for the realistic relationships where people get cross and hold grudges, no-one is perfect and saying the wrong thing can cause hurt which needs to be talked through in a grown up manner. The Peak District backdrop feels like a character in itself and while there are the clichéd elements of a traditional small town romance in evidence (crazy granny gang, ridiculous proportion of attractive single men, everyone knows everyone and is in their business etc) it's all a bit more low key than usual so feels more believable. Scott is a lovely MMC, fiery but incredibly kind and solid. Keren is adventurous, a good friend but also independent (and also very firey!) so they are both likeable characters you can root for.
Despite the suspense element this is a pretty gentle read with no relationship drama. But oh my goodness it needs an edit which put me off and took me out of the story (the wrong names used for characters used several times, typos, incorrect grammar causing confusing sentences...). This is such a bugbear as it could be so easily rectified.
Severton Search and Rescue book 2 is aptly names Stirred. Featuring Scott and Keren, long time friends turned enemies, this story stirs up several emotions and sets in motion their reconciliation. Scott intrigued me from the very beginning of Sleighed, book 1. Zach's brother is a hot, tattooed, broody bar owner who plays guitar. Yes, please! Keren tries to deny her long buried feeling for him; however, they show all over her face even when they're spitting insults at each other.
While we ride the roller coaster of past emotions and mistakes between these two, we also get a glimpse into more of Zach and Sorrell's life. Those continuing stories is what I love most about family series and looking forward to more from future Maynard siblings and cousins. The underlying mystery surrounding Lena thickens and we get a visit from some hunky Callaghan lawyers. A great continuation of our favorite Severton residents!

Keren and Scott are delicious in their battle to get back to one another!
Scott was not my favourite character in Sleighed, but I fell in love with him as soon as I started Stirred!
Keren and Scott have been fighting for years, and once Keren finds out why she almost wants to keep fighting with him. She feels insulted that he would think so poorly of her, but rather than do what it takes to put it behind them she insults him again!
Enemies to lovers is one of my favourite tropes, and Annie Dyer excels in giving us couples that hate to love each other.
On top of Keren and Scott having eye-poppingly hot, sexy times together, the Severton mystery continues with some very scary bad guys coming out of the woodwork.
I also love the humour - from Alpacas, to grannies stirring up their own brand of gin, this book is an awesome trip through a tiny village in Northern England. I can't wait to see what happens next!
