Arrogant Fiancé

Rate this book
He wasn’t meant to be on my radar, he was definitely the off-limits guy.
My brother’s best friend, my friend’s ex, but most of all he was my boss.
Hawk Carnage resembled one thing, and one thing only. Sex.
He used it, he knew it, he lived it. Hawk owned the largest lingerie company in the world, and I was his leading lady.
In business.
But now business and friendship were about to be crossed. The lines blurred, and I was ready to dip my toes in the forbidden water. Because no matter how much I said I could refrain from Hawk Carnage, now was not the time.
He was to be my fake fiancé.
And I was about to sink into that forbidden water, with Hawk’s hands clutching my sides.
Lord help me because I was about to enjoy every moment of it.
Even if it was just for fun.
Even if it would ruin everything.
I was going to dive in head first.

One clicked out of solidarity.

This is not my go to genre these days, but once I saw that these women had to change the title of their book (it's now called "Arrogant Fiance on Amazon), I went out and bought it to show my support. Not of Faleena's ridiculous claims of trademark, but as a show of support for authors who were bullied into changing their own brand over a temper tantrum thrown by a supposed "Adult" author.

Not sure when I'll get around to reading this, but I still wanted to show that we care what's going on right now.

After I understood how shallow the book is, I just skimmed and scanned it to make sure it was definitely unworthy of my time - it sadly was and I dropped it.

This book feels as if it is written knowing the smut sells; however, it is not that good, either, nope, it is shallow, too - no chemistry, no steam, no feelings, just the action!

Oh, and there is no talk of safe sex, no talk of protection, no use of condoms. Where on earth do these people live, I wonder? In the smut-fiction-land, only?

I am happy I just borrowed this book, not bought it.

This one was a DNF for me at 33% and the main and most important thing I want to share with you is… trust the title… ;) because the “arrogant fiance” in this story is very arrogant indeed… to the point of it being absolutely obnoxious… at least for me personally :) I decided to abandon this story and gave it 2,5 stars, because I couldn’t stand Hawke… his behaviour rubbed me the wrong way and the more I read about him the more irritated I became… if I could reach inside the pages and smack him, I would… Britta was a bit better, but not much… but that’s just my personal preferences… the writing style was fine and I might pick up another story by these authors at some point in the future, but this one wasn’t for me… if you like these alpha type guys who are arrogant and pushy then you will love this one :) and in that case I wish you happy reading, because I am off to a novel I will enjoy more than this one ;) but hey, to each their own, right? :)

XOXO

This was a 1.5 star read for me.
I didn't like this book.
The first 60% of the book was enjoyable but the last 40% was really bad, in my opinion. Not for me.

**ARC provided by the author in exchange for an honest review**

A hot and sexy forbidden romance that you will read in one sitting! Cocky Fiancé by TL Smith and Melissa Jane was perfect in every way.

“He was completely off limits…”

Hawk Carnage is definitely off limits for Britta and she knows it. They’ve known each other for quite some time. Friend to her protective brothers and she’s his model for his successful lingerie company. However, when she is confronted by her ex-boyfriend Roman, then invited to his wedding she weaves her web of lies saying that Hawk is her fiancé.

“My boss…
my brother’s best friend…
and not my fake fiancé…”

Hawk sees this as an opportunity to entangle himself with Britta. Being so close to her but never to touch has eaten at him for years, now it’s time to finalize his attraction for her. Only “pretending” won’t be so hard since both have lusted after one another for quite sometime. These two turn up the heat, but when things come crashing down around them, will they be able to pick up the pieces?

Oh, how I love Hawk in all ways sexy?! He is everything a book boyfriend must uphold to. Broody demeanor, sinful physique, intense, basically, your fantasy! His cockiness was not arrogance which I think shined for him and paired well with sassy Britta. This pair together was remarkable.

TL Smith and Melissa Jane combined make one heck of a writing duo. I am pretty sure I lost minutes, hours of my day being consumed by this story. Fantastic writing skills that showcased the plot with dramatic twists and turns towards the end. I was intrigued from the first page until the last word. I can’t praise this book enough!

OK this book was totally different from what I taught I would be .Both the characters were kind of messy .At first I taught it would be like some hired help would turn the world up side down .But the boss was note on list. As per as I taught. The most important thing that made this book less interesting was the fact that the name of the book and story had the least similarities.Which actually made me more irritated. The fiance part was just like a emotion that came and went in no time with nothing really interesting to say .It sounded more like a office romance where the boss and the employ were flirting with any side walls.

Hello Hawk Carnage... #HubbaHubba

This is my first time reading either of these authors, (though each have titles on my TBR), so I’m unfamiliar with their individual styles. What I do know having finished Cocky Fiancé however, is that together their writing is fluid and seamless.

Draw in quickly by the likeable characters & their sassy, snarky banter, I rarely put the book down. It’s funny, smart, steamy, & layered with a little twisty angst, all making it an enjoyable & engaging read.

Hawk is bossy, sexy, alpha deliciousness, while Britta is just as strong, only in a more feminine way. The supporting characters are great, particularly Britta’s brothers, and I easily liked those I was supposed to like & loathed those I was supposed to loathe. The comeuppance’s when they came we’re awesome, & tasted oh so sweet.

I wouldn’t hesitate to read another collaboration from these two ladies, in fact, by my count, there are three single Valentino men all needing HEA’s... just saying.

This book had so much potential but for me was a complete bust! Between the characters, the storyline....everything, ughhhhh, just a no go for me! I tried to push through but had to give up halfway thru...had to speed read and finally skipped to end! Just not for me:(

Cocky Fiance was an incredibly fast, entertaining, dramatic and steamy read. Hawk Carnage (what a name) is the boss of Britta and he’s the owner of the largest lingerie business. After a run in with her ex, she found herself in a fake engagement with her boss.

I was enjoying myself so much that I read the book in one sitting. Britta and Hawk balances each other out. I loved their banter which are adorable, witty and definitely dirty. Britta’s family is so supportive of her career yet they don’t approve Hawk as a possible boyfriend for Britt. She was warned about dating Hawk and vice versa. But it’s obvious how palpable their chemistry is.

There’s a lot of drama involved, many things happened but it wasn’t overwhelming. I was looking for a quick yet entertaining read and I’m happy that I chose Cocky Fiance.

i loved the family’s reaction when

I wanted to like this one more, but just as I was enjoying their little secret romance there was a jump the shark moment in the storyline. The mystery of the redhead and the ensuing drama wasn't really needed and added a moment of angst that really did nothing for the story (other than irritate me)l

Super hot, super sexy read!

This book consumed me for the few hours it took to read it. For a writing duo to write so seamlessly is freaking RARE!!

Cocky Fiancé is witty, super hot and utterly, utterly addictive.

I hope we get many more books from these two authors together.

So this is my first T.L. Smith book and I have heard great things about her and her books and I am so happy to have read this book. This is a cute story about Hawk and Britta who have been friends since childhood. And although Britta has always seen Hawk as something more she has never acted on it or really shown anything more than friendship towards him. So when Britta needs a fake fiance for her ex-boyfriend's wedding and Hawk just happens to offer his services things start getting cute and fun them.
I loved the Valentino family and how they treat Hawk, even though they have known him since they were all kids. And Hawk takes everything in stride even the Unicorn (haha), the story is very well told and I couldn't put it down. I was happy to read this story and hope there is more to come with the other boys. I voluntarily read advance readers copy for my honest review.

Such a good book!! I read it in one sitting and enjoyed every minute of it. This story doesn't lag at any point, the characters are so well thought out, I loved all the brothers, I wish they would get their own books but I don't know if that's in the cards or not. Melissa Jane and TL Smith should write together more often. This story is told in dual pov.

Logow stuff

Mmmm.... Let’s Talk Hawk!

I just love a writing duo that can come together and give you a story that consumes you from beginning to end. I want to do cartwheels because I simply loved this book so much.

What can I say about Hawk Carnage? The man is that “Book Boyfriend” you yearn to read about. He’s intense, broody, passionate and sexy as all get out. He starts out as sort of an enigma and you’re trying to figure out what in the world he’s up too, then the story REALLY kicks in and we have actual “carnage” all over the place. It really threw me for a loop a few times when I thought I knew “who done it” and I was wrong! (I’m usually good at that whole predicting thing but nope, not this time) I love that!

“Britta Valentino, you are the right kind of naughty.”

Then there’s Britta! Oh dear, this girl - I prayed she wasn’t going to be the weak heroine because I almost, I repeat, almost had my doubts for half a second and then that thought was obliterated. Britta is such an admirable character who exudes so many qualities that I could only wish to have inside and out. She was so much of this book and a huge part of the amazing journey you’re taken on.

“Unicorns. Whiskey. And... Hawk Carnage.”

It is such a praiseworthy read because it gives you that angst and then that resolve and then the angst is back and - well, you see where I’m going with this. I was completely enamored with this all consuming book. Yes, it’s a “fake fiancé” book and there are many out there - this one though is delicious! It is definitely tops on my list. As I said, the writing between the two authors was extremely impressive. They obviously work incredible together and I only hope that they continue to pair up again and create more literary magic. Well Done!

This book is without a doubt a #MustRead

Arrogant Fiancé is a very sexy collaboration by T.L Smith and Melissa Jane. I am very familiar with both authors, having read Ms. Smith’s ‘Dark Intentions’ series, and Ms. Jane’s ‘Monsters’ and the ‘Bittersweet’ series. I have loved their individual worked, so I was excited by what their writing partnership would produce. To say they got their recipe right is an understatement. What they have delivered is a wonderful, seamless, cohesive and polished piece of work- a real credit to them both! All the controversy that brought about the change from the original title, and the not to be mentioned “C” word, aside, this book is really fantastic and deserves to be read.
It has got some angst and drama, but the story never gets too heavy or bogged down by any unwarranted drama. This is a fun and very entertaining read. There is humour, emotion, twists/surprises and some suspense- as well as quite a lot of steam to this tale. The chemistry and tension between the two leading characters was really well portrayed. I was intrigued by their situation, then captivated by them, and quickly became invested in them and their story.
This is a forbidden/office romance that kept me hooked right till the very last word! I really recommend this book to anyone looking for a sexy, spicy read that delivers everything the blurb promises, and more!
I look forward to reading more collaborations from these two talented authors in the future- after all there were several single, HOT hunks/secondary characters that I would love to see get their own story. Especially Slate…. hint, hint, hint.

Thank you, Ms. Smith and Ms. Jane!

An enjoyable read!

Ok so I freely admit that the initial reason I bought this book was to help support these authors during the #cockygate incident. They are both new to me authors, and generally I don't buy books from new authors that cost more than $.99 just because I've been burned in the past. However, with all the drama going on I wanted to show my support for all these authors (and I did so by purchasing several books) but I digress...

I'm soooo glad that Arrogant Fiance was one of the books I chose because it turned out to be awesome! Not only did I come away with a fantastic new book, but I was also introduced to two new authors that I now get to stalk to find their other works. Win win for me! :)

This book was so good! Britta and Hawk had some amazing chemistry that just burned up the pages. It was so obvious they had the hots for each other. They were meant to be together and the journey to them getting their hea was not all sunshine and unicorns (heee heee ... unicorn lol) <-- that's an inside joke you'll only get if you read the book. Trust me, it's totally worth it! I very much enjoyed this book. There was cheating ex drama (I really wanted Roman to get junk punched.... the jerk) random chicks showing up to cause trouble, which gave a lil mystery. Smexy times that heated up my kindle. And four older brothers that gave some comic relief imo. Overall I'd say this was definitely a gem find and I'm so glad I found it!

Disappointing.

The storyline had real possibilities and I started out liking it. Then suddenly it took a turn in the wrong directions. And I do mean directions!

The story suddenly had 3 extra females in it when 1 would have been better. Either of the 3 women could have been used in the storyline, given a little depth, and worked into a better book.

This book also had 2 male a$$holes and no real reason to have both in the story. The authors should have stuck to the ex as a “villain” and skipped the corporate guy. Roman and Rebekah gave readers enough to hate on.

I felt like every possible plot was thrown into the mix and none of the characters were given the depth that they or the readers deserved. The last half of the book was a rushed, jumbled mess of characters and bad plots. I was disappointed that a book that started out interesting turned into this.

I love humor, I appreciate it when authors come together and they work so well. Don't think I have read anything from these authors before? I gotta check?! I love these characters, and I love a well knitted tight family. Such a great dynamic. Such a quick read ... couldn't put it down. Flows so well. I would have never guessed it was written by 2 ladies? can you usually tell? don't think so??! you know why i am reading this book .. now don't you?? if not ... get a clue and wake up girlfriend ... this is serious. can't we all be friends. I am new 2 each of these authors ... i have heard of them but not had a chance to read their books. I have a huge TBR list ... check it out. I love how you immediately sucked in to this read .... or at least i was. I started reading and gosh ... i look at the clock and think Beth ... it's time for bed ...but why am i wide awake? this is a read that will hold you in, your interest. cockyness and all. wink wink. must read. LOVED IT! ( ;
