Very few series can top this one for intensity, both in the art and the emotions. The tension and power of the dancers comes through so clearly that you can feel your own muscles engaging, and the emotional storyline is impressive. If you just read one ballroom dance manga (and there are three in English), it should be this one.

I had a genuine moment of panic thinking this was the last volume, because it can't end like this. Thank goodness 6 is happening.

Honestly just feeling real confused right now. That ending made me scream oh my god. I don't know what's happening, but also do. These two men are clearly confused by their romance and they both want to dominate the other physically, mentally, in dance and in bed. But like wow. what a mess. They make me dizzy and Suzuki really just did that.

I loved this. That dance competition was fierce and Suzuki and Tajima really stepped up. I'm proud of them. Those last chapters made me teary. These two still have a ways to go and that's Sugiki's fault. I hope he figured out what he truly wants.

Ughhh, they can’t end it there! Volume 6 won’t be released in English in print until August, I believe. I need to know how this series ends!

This volume was mostly Suzuki going all out at the first Latin dance competition on the Asian tour. I love the spirit and the fun of the completion scenes! Especially the Latin dancers! This series is quite diverse, to be honest.

Things between Suzuki and Sugiki take a turn as neither of them knows how to be in love with another man and that’s a cause of strife for them. This volume ends in a way that worries me for these two 🤭

Still really excellent visual depiction of dance, and strong personalities. The two main characters didn't have as much interaction in this installment, which was disappointing.

I was worried the dance competitions would be boring to read, but the new characters and the deus ex machina element kept this story arc kept the story very engaging.

Suzuki gets too rough with Sugiki towards the end of this arc, which is hard to read and pretty well warned about throughout this volume. The translation notes are extra worth reading.

I will admit, it has been a while since I read volume four of this series. But a lot of the time with manga, if I've left it too long before continuing, I just admit I don't want to continue on and dnf the series. However, I always wanted to read volume 5 of this and made it a goal to get to it asap in 2025.

I may be a little bit disappointed in the first half of this volume. I do love ballroom and latin dancing but we're all here for the two main characters being together and so much of this volume focused on one singular event that our favourite latin dancer was partaking in.

The second half focused a lot more on our two mcs together and I enjoyed it a lot more. I'm excited to continue with the series, even if this was my least favourite volume so far.

I love this series so much but THAT CLIFFHANGER. This is breaking my heart.
I don't understand why and am going to be so upset if these two can't be together. 3

Hm. Well that was...kind of disappointing.

I'm glad there's another volume (not out until January), because this one kind of didn't make sense.

Essentially a solid half of this volume was a dance competition, which was honestly pretty hard to follow, and could've been condensed a lot more, or sprinkled with more character development. I did like how Suzuki spent the whole afterparty desperately wanting to talk to Sugiki, and being stopped at too many points by a variety of fans and colleagues - probably a sign of what's to come, as he grows more successful. (I was expecting more of a reaction from his father, though, especially with how the volume opened?)

I also liked Sugiki waiting all night and all morning for Suzuki to seek him out - convincing himself that he should just go home, then finding one reason after another to stay. Not sure what the deal was with his mother showing up and seeing Suzuki; there's obviously more to their family connection that hasn't been unveiled yet.

The reunion was fantastic, and the entire conversation between Sugiki and Ernie, where he's trying to figure out what he's feeling and if this is love or just some sort of obsession - which Ernie and Suzuki both seem determined to convince him is the case. I get that, but...closing this out on Suzuki having been in love with him all along, and being more comfortable with gay sex than Sugiki is...that is just a very strange choice that makes no sense to me at all. Why, after multiple volumes of Sugiki trying to get them to this point, would he be the one to back down?

I don't get it.

Obviously it's just another bump in the road as they figure out their relationship, but it didn't seem to fit with the way the narrative had progressed. Inoue says in the end notes that this had been one of the goalposts early in the planning process, and I wonder if that's why it feels so out of place...sometimes those plot points need to adjust along the way as your characters develop more and establish their own personalities. I'm sure it'll be resolved in subsequent volumes, but at this point? It just doesn't seem to fit, and it leaves things on a weird, lingeringly dissatisfying note.

Honestly this is where it's starting to get good again but I'm so drained and detached from this series. If you're truly invested into the world of competitive ballroom dancing than go for it but it's a bit of a slog for those who aren't and only in the last 5 pages of this book did we get anywhere relationship wise, and nothing that warrants it's newly gained 18+ rating.

When you talk about good, passionate manga, this is definitely something that comes to mind first. It hits every note correctly and beautifully. The art style, the writing, the movement, it's clear the artist was going for something that truly showed off the love of dance. And I keep falling in love with it. The ending will kill me, so I'm waiting on baited breath for 6.

I'm all caught up and my feels are a terrible mess at the moment. That last page in the volume totally crushed me. How is the series going to continue after this? OO, I cannot wait to pick up the next volume when it comes out.

I do think this is the best book in the series. Everything has culminated in this volume. Wow! That ending was a bittersweet stinker though.

This volume is all about a dance competition Suzuki goes all in for. All the practice, all the love he feels for Sugiki is expressed in his dancing. The whole audience can't take their eyes off him and his basic steps. He absolutely shines. It's a wonderful moment. Truly. It's so well done. The whole competition was fun and we see the judges not playing fair.

Sugiki is there watching the whole thing incognito. After, Suzuki is mobbed by people wanting to praise him and celebrate. He just wants to go to Sugiki. It's all he can think about. Sugiki is waiting for him at the studio, hoping he will come and knowing he is busy. he stays all night cleaning.

In the morning Suzuki finally comes running and finds him. They attack each other kissing. It's very hot. But a problem happens. Sugiki realizes he wants to be the lead. They both realized that neither can be submissive to the other. They both want to be the tops, the lead, of course.

How does this brilliant episode end. They call it quits of course. They also proclaim their love. It's a crazy ending.

This series is getting good. I thought there would be 10 volumes being called 10 dance, but I see there are only 7 volumes. I suppose there just wasn't enough sales to keep it going or something. That's such a shame. I can't wait for vol. 6.

I try to separate my manga reads from my book reads because the amount of volumes would flood my goodreads since I’m an avid manga reader. However, I don’t want to forget this particular volume of 10 dance which has become one of my favorite series. The passion, the intense intimacy, and the emotions between these two characters is just chef’s kiss. There is such a strong sense of yearning that is displayed in different ways amongst the two of them that really draws you in. They are constantly wavering between being just casual friends and something much more.

The ending of this volume took my heart and volume six had no intentions of returning it. There’s a specific line that actually grabbed it and it was when Suzuki says, “hey, I love you.” It’s such a simple line but that was the most heartbreaking scene after he just told Sugiki that the obsession he has for him is not love and they should end whatever is between them.

The words, “I love you” are very poignant in that scene but it intensified once reading the original Japanese meaning. “I love you” (ai shiteru) has a very deep meaning and it’s rarely used to profess love.

“ai shiteru is a deep, abiding love that goes beyond just passion or lust.”

Hmm. Not sure what to think. The competition took way too long. And these guys are walking a very narrow edge of being toxic. Honestly I get that someone realizing they're not straight is a process and needs a lot of self-love and acceptance and getting rid of internalized homophobia in a lot of cases. But the way Suzuki is behaving is so mean and unrealistic and like I said, veering on the edge of toxic and abusive there at the end. If there's anything good about that ending, it's that I wasn't turned away from wanting to read the sixth volume.

Oh and also, I get the this is BL. But it's so annoying how when it comes to dancing, for every nine mentions of the male dancers' proficiency and excellence, there is only one of their female partners. Like the guys wouldn't be "champions of the world" without having partnered with excellent female dancers. But the way the praise is dolled out gives the impression as if the females are lucky to be with the males who drag them along to the top. Which is just sexist and does not make sense. I'm not saying there should be constant female presence. But it should be expected and delivered in a competition setting at the very least.

Volume 5 is an emotional rollercoaster. Both Sugiki and Suzuki have realized their feelings for each other, but the weight of those feelings is hitting them hard. Neither of them has been in love with another man before, and watching them struggle to make sense of it is equal parts heartbreaking and beautiful. The tension between them has never been stronger, but instead of bringing them closer, it feels like it’s tearing them apart. The volume ends on such a bittersweet, gut-wrenching note, with what seems like the end of a relationship that hasn’t even had the chance to fully begin. It’s devastating, but it’s also what makes this story so captivating.

Beyond excellent. Welcome to the Ballroom Yaoi Style.

This story is riveting from the very beginning and continues to build sweet tension as it goes along. But, it's not just the anticipation of whether their romantic flames will flicker or go out but also what lies ahead for them as rivals on the dance floor that keeps you reading. I eagerly await the continuation and finale of this series.

The passionate dancing, the yearning chemistry, the beautiful bodies, and the connections being built between all the characters and dancers - I’m loving it. Finally, that ending tugged hard on my heartstrings. I’m feeling too much. Plus, I respect that this manga comes off very professional in their knowledge of ballroom dance, and I liked how it brought up that it’s not an accessible sport/fine arts. This volume brought me back into the story, and I need the next volume now! 4.5/5

The illustrations truly are phenomenal. It’s a great feat to be able to capture expert ballroom dance movement on a static piece of paper. I wish it was in color so everything could truly pop off the page. The story itself is good as well. Suzuki blew people’s expectations away with this volume. The tension between the Shinyas also racketed up. It’s interesting watching Suzuki struggle with his feelings and I’m curious to see how this all will continue to unpack for him.
