A combined biography for Robert Whitehead, the inventor of the modern torpedo, and his invention. Very thorough and well-written history of a war-changing invention.

Suprisingly interesting and well put together story of the development of the torpedo.

But one thing I don't get - I would have expected an elem. But perhaps that is because the author has so many other submarine related books already.

A quality piece of work.
