Good!

This is a short book about music arranging. It is explained in layman terms. I find that to be helpful so all audiences can enjoy it. I also find helpful how when the author was giving examples of the differences he circled the musical notes in different colors. The brief history of this book was interesting. I give this book 4 stars because of the educational fun that was done. I think the cover is better than the other books and would entice someone to buy from an unknown author.

I do not sugarcoat. If I felt differently, I would not hold my tongue. Besides, I am no expert at music. Plus everyone has their own different tastes. I received this book free from Lean Stone Book Club in exchange for an honest review.

I find the music guides published by Forslund Music both educational and entertaining. Written in a smooth and easy style as though the author is addressing the given topics in a personal, one-on-one, conversation, these books also offer a significant level of important and useful information about each topic. This particular guide covers arranging music: why? how? and how to arrange well and to improve one's capacity to arrange music. Even I, not a musician, have learned a lot through reading these guides, which has intensified my own ability to listen to, to understand, and to enjoy, music.

More like a long blog post than a book

Very cursory overview. Few real details to help anyone.

This isn't a "how to" book. It's more like a "what is" book. The whole thing should be the introductory chapter of an actual book on arranging.

I was pretty underwhelmed.
