Rancher Neall Gardiner is wealthy, educated, and has everything he could possibly want except one thing – a wife and children of his own. While there are plenty of unmarried women in Sapphire Springs, Texas, he can’t be sure any of them want him for himself and not for the security and wealth he can offer. Keeping some of the details of his life a secret, he sends for a mail-order bride.

With no way to support herself and her infant son, Audra Holt will soon be homeless. Her best friend convinces her to answer an ad for a mail-order bride. Since Audra doesn’t know how to read, she has no way of knowing that her friend didn’t mention the baby in the letter she sent to the Texas rancher.

How will Neall react when Audra arrives in Sapphire Springs? And when her illiteracy comes to light, how will Audra fit into Neall’s life? Can she be the wife he wants, or was their marriage a mistake?

Neall has decided it is time for him to gain a wife and have a family. His friend John took on a mail order bride and Maranda has been good for him and his girls so why not give it a try.

Audra Holt needs to move on as her friend is having a baby and they need room. Audra answers the ad with the help of her friend. Neall sends for her but is shocked when she arrives in Texas.

Neall doesn’t want Audra but he does help her as she has her infant son with her and they need help. He will let her stay for two weeks until the next train leaves.

Audra and Neall have lied to each other but can they move on and forgive and have a nice family or will a hired hand step in the way?

A fun quick read of two characters who need and want love. They are both ashamed of what they have done but can they forgive and love? The setting was nice and Mrs Davey has to be one of the best characters. It was nice to see Maranda and John again and see they are doing well from the first book. I will keep reading this fun series.

This is such a wonderful book and I loved it. The first page grasped me and into the story of Neall and Audra I went.
Audra needed to quickly find a place to live and work for herself and son.
Neall decided he wanted to get married and works with a friend to help him find a mail order bride.
When Audra finally gets to Sapphire Springs and she and her little baby Thomas get off the train, Neall doesn’t realize that she is his bride since she has a baby.
There was no baby mentioned in her letters so he figures she didn’t come after all. She addresses him first since he is the only one there and he sees a baby in her arms and gets really mad since she never mentioned him. He walks away and leaves them on the platform.
Oh to start out with such problems in a new town and being rejected now what will she do?
Get this really good book and don’t wait to read it. If you love historical western romances and mail order bride stories you will love this one like I did.

This was a wonderful book. I loved Audra. She was such a warm, kind and loving mother. She became a widow, with a newborn baby, and no way to provide a living. The only way for her to survive after having no luck with finding a job in her hometown (without becoming a saloon "worker") was to turn to becoming a Mail Order Bride. The story was so great with all the ups and downs she faced. Neall was a kind and sometimes frustrating man, but he became my hero at the end. I love Margery Scott books and I was not disappointed in this one in a wonderful series. I would highly recommend this book. Thank you.

Looking for a new life.

Audra was a widow with a young son, Thomas. She couldn't read or write and was living with a friend who was expecting another baby. She couldn't stay there any longer and with no job and nowhere to go her friend suggested she become a mail order bride. The only problem was that she couldn't write so her friend wrote the letter but forgot to mention the baby, Thomas. Nalle was very surprised when she showed up with a baby and he told her she was going back when the next train came in two weeks. Those two weeks changed everything. Thus us a lovely story of two very different people who may find love.

A beautiful story

This is a new series by Mrs. Scott. This book picks up where her Bride of Beckham story ended. Miranda finds Neall a bride, but she is not being truthful with him. It takes guts on both their sides to get through to the heart of the matter.
This book was one I could not put down once I started reading! Definitely a great start to a new favorite series!

This sweet book makes for a wonderful afternoon read. Audra and Thomas need a family; Neall Gardiner needs family and love in his home. Seems like a perfect match but there are problems which need to be worked out. Will Audra find a second chance at love? Is Neall the answer to her prayers. This is the story-line and I loved it.

Communication - do important

Wonderful story. It can be so terrifying not to be able to read. I can't imagine how difficult that was for someone in the old west or anytime for that matter. Thank you for including this topic in your book. I've taught English for many years & know the reward one gets when someone learns to read. It warms the heart more than words can express.

Audra ♥️ Neall

Audra became a widow the night her son Thomas was born. Her friend Birdie read to her because she couldn’t read or write. When Birdie found an advertisement for a mail-order-bride, Audra had her write an answer to Neall. All the misunderstandings happened and he was going to send her back but…fell in love instead. Good story.

This is the second book in the Mail-Order Brides of Sapphire Springs series. It is the story of wealthy rancher Neall Gardiner and widowed mother Audra Holt and her infant son Thomas. Both Neall and Audra have not told the entire truth. Can they overcome the resulting distrust and forge a life together?

Sweetest romance

Misconceptions and self doubt can lead to crippling emotions that keep truth from coming forth for fear of dubious labeling. This woman's journey to find love is a sweet romance.

Lies can muddy the waters

Finding the right person to marry was a challenge. Was a mail order bride the answer. This story follows how a rancher searches for a bride. When she arrives its a great suprise to meet her little baggage.

Audra a widow answers a mail order bride advertisement. Neal advertised because he wanted someone who didn’t realize he was rich. So when Audra showed up with a child. He accused her of lying. When she saw the ranch he owned instead of the farm she expected, she accused him of lying.

The book has charactor

I loved the book about Audra not being perfect but kind, smart and loving. I got the feeling she had dyslexia that is why the letters would get all mixed up. We all have something

Excellent

I truly, truly enjoyed this book. Audra had such a low self-esteem of herself and I am so glad that NEAL let her know how worthy she was please continue writing. You are an excellent author.

Too short

I loved this story, and just wish it had been longer! It has characters that you care about so easily, and a sweet plot, with just a touch of uncertainty. Going to get the next in the series asap.

Sweet story

Nice story, pleasant characters and well written. A little predictable in plot but still enjoyable enough to be a decent read.

This was an interesting story. Audra comes from a poor family that didn’t help her find out how to read and so she has a disadvantage when it came to writing away for a husband. Her best friend wanted to help her but left out a big piece in the letter to Neall. Neall wanted a women who wanted him abs not his money. But when Audra arrived things weren’t what they should of been. They have a long road to go to find their HEA
