Ok.. first indication that this book was incredible is I stayed up till 4am finishing it! This book in every way matched or in some parts even exceeded book one! Things I found exceptionally noteworthy were:
1) the author's continued world-building, adding so much more richness and detail to what he had already established. 2) The inclusion of a significant number of straight people. This in of itself added a much needed dose of making this world very much like ours 3) The complexity and reality of both established and new characters. 4)His handling of the whole shifter political system and it's issues. This book and its predecessor have truly become some of my all-time favorites! This is fantasy and m/m romance at their very best!

TRAITOR'S MOON is the second book in the Gladstone Shifters series and it does follow on from book one so I definitely recommend you read that book just to get the full picture.

Ben and Evan are still trying to make their Pack a safe home but Wilburn still has other plans. Jack and William are 'on tour' trying to bring the reality of True Elders to other packs.

There is so much intrigue in this book, making it fast-paced and full of action without it being rushed. As a reader, you daren't blink in case you miss anything. And yet, there is still time for romance, for love, for hope. And not just for MM couples either. Personally, I think this is one of the best parts of these books - instead of just one romance, you get a couple or more!

The world-building is excellent and you also get the political structure and problems too. Although there are a host of characters, each one is fully fleshed out, making every single one of them completely believable.

This is a fantastic addition to the series and I look forward to carrying on with their stories. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for Jonah!

This was a great continuation of the Gladstone saga. As the Gladstone pack continued to grow and evolve, their enemies were relentless. I loved how they all came together to fight for their way of life. The detailed world-building and the variety of characters were realistic and written well. And although there were a lot of characters to keep up with, each one of them was an integral part of the story. I’m looking forward to reading book 3.

The Saga Continues

Another well written book in this series, rife with humor, sorrow, joy, loss and love. Good character development and a well defined world view. Good resolution for almost all the primary story threads with just enough questions to anticipate the next book.

I'm not really loving how this one panned out. In an impressive move, Alexander managed to jump between points of view of at least a dozen characters without causing confusion. Less impressive is the fact that most of those characters, both male and female, were there to find mates and not just further the plot.
We went from following two couples (Ben/Evan and Jack/William) to getting at least five more mate couples, both gay and straight. The MM content is on the blurb so that's what I expected, the MF content came as a not so agreeable surprise. And the focus those couples had is so varied it feels like it derails from the main plot. We see more of Donna and her new doctor practice and new mate than we do of Nolan, and he's the one that appears in the blurb. Also, some of the chemistry between couples is questionable. While I liked the ides of Nolan and Garrett in paper, once they got together it seemed more like teasing bros than a romantic couple. More of the book is spent seeing side characters getting frisky than in any central plot, to the point in which the main plot was side tracked for a side characters's love life or professional life. That made the whole thing slower.
Also, by how much it was promoted the appearance of this new true elder, it was quite the underwhelming affair. As with the main conflict, where it was flamed and concluded and we still had plenty of book to go.
In conclusion, it has good bones, but could've done with a lot of editing. I'm not stoked about the next book in the series, but I'm too stubborn to leave it alone.

Tension and entertaining

I look forward to seeing something more of the series as I really love this meliu. As someone who has not enjoyed mpreg tropes in the past, the interesting way Alexander has handled it has had me intrigued and comfortable with the way same sex shifters have a practical and mythical outcome has me impressed. The True Elder trope has me even more excited about the way shifters have a powerfully positioned leadership role I have a thought that they will turn out to be even more.

Great continuation

The Gladstone Shifters series is addictive. I just keep reading because I want to see what’s going to happen next. Love the plot with so many characters and matings. The massacre was heartbreaking and I’m sorry the pack lost good men. Looking forward to subsequent books.

Book 2 of this amazing series is as equally gripping as the first book where we met Ben and Evan. Now it's the turn of Nolan and Garrett to find each other as they battle evil and a plot to destroy the safe haven that is Gladstone. One of the joys of this series is that though the focus maybe on two individuals it is kit solely and you get to know the important other people, couples in the book be they mm/ff/mf. Clever out

Well written. I was almost tempted to stop reading a few times. I could not have slept the stress of not knowing what was going to happen regarding this obvious war. Loved it

Fun exciting read

Traitors Moon picks up where the first book left off, the Gladstone pack keeps growing inspite of all the threats from the TPA packs. The storyline is entertaining and the characters interesting.

Heartwarming story

I have been reading many stories of the shifter community and was very pleased with this story. The understood violence referenced was never overdone or avoided... Kuddos to a job well done....😃

(Minor spoilers, but I try to stay vague)

Traitor's Moon takes place half a year after Expectant Moon. Ben's pack is growing strong and steadily, due to his firm, inclusive, and patient leadership. Evan's really folded into his position as True Elder, and the rest of the main cast also evolves really nicely from the first book. I was also surprised that the introduction of Ben/Evan's kids didn't really take away from the story--the kids are mentioned, but both leads are still very engaged in growing Gladstone and adjusting to the new responsibilities as their pack continues to grow exponentially.

One true highlight of the book was Nolan's tumultuous journey when his mate arrives unexpectedly in the middle of some turmoil. His stress and his clan's support were really well written.

I also loved how other characters trapped within Wilburn's (the homophobic shifter antagonist) collective find their own ways to support Gladstone from behind enemy lines.

The book also remains just as spicy as the first one did. It doesn't take away from the plot (which is well written and folds together a lot of sub-plots nicely), but is a nice bonus in showing just how tight the bonds are forged between packmates.

My one minor gripe is that soooo many characters were suddenly slapped with a mate, it almost becomes a drinking game in this book. :) Also, some parts of the book weren't as well paced--it seemed to take ages for Jack/William to accomplish anything on their road trip.

All in all, if you enjoyed the first book, Traitor's Moon keeps up the fantastic drama, spice, and shifter world building.

I liked this second book in the series more than the first even though it suffered from some of the more pedantic scenes. It was more interesting in that there were more characters to get acquainted with and enjoy. EvieRae is a star and Nolan are Garrett’s story is more interesting than some of the others. I wanted to get more detail about Everet and I’m hoping there is more in the next installment.

I received a complimentary copy of this book through Book Sirens and was under no obligation to leave a favorable review. All opinions are my own.

3 1/2 stars

The never ending story... The story lines are really interesting but it takes forever to get to the point. I took Jack forever to meet Everett, forever to see Walter. He hasn't even read the journals. There is evidence that they have been sitting on and did nothing really with it. I do like the characters and as I have stated, it's a really interesting read you just need lots of patience.

I received an ARC of this book for my honest review. I really LOVE this series. The only negative I have is the books are much longer than what I like to read. I wish they were shorter to where they only 8-9 hours long instead of 15. This book is the 2nd in the Series and just like the 1st it had my emotions all over the place. I found myself being happy, sad, angry, excited. The story definitely catches & keeps your attention which I like.

Multilayered plot with good, bad, and downright ugly moments. It's so easy to get attached to these characters and their lives that you can't help but run the same emotional gauntlet they do.

I'm glad the author resolved one major conflict before alluding to the next. I can't wait to see what's to come for the Gladstone Pack.
